  1. Everyone on earth is expecting us to run up the middle. Try something else for God’s sake
  2. Maryland is all but giving us this game. Can we take it? Not if we continue with the stupid play calling
  3. What did I say about us stop trying to return punts and kicks...just fair catch the ball and save the chance to drive on offense.
  4. Let us hope this gives our team the belief they need to get this done.
  5. Finally we catch a break..let us hope we get 7 out of this.
  6. Martinez needs to look down the field and not just sideways. He is missing open receivers.
  7. Can we stop Jevon Leake today? We have trouble stopping good running backs. Let us hope we can tackle.
  8. This is the game that tells us if this team can turn things around. If we win, we have hope. If we lose, we simply fall deeper into despair.
  9. I watched the Iowa vs Illinois game. Iowa just has the ability to frustrate teams and win by field goals. Since our special teams are anything but special and our kicking game is even worse, we have our work cut out for us.
  10. As another poster stated, these ratings are in par with our competition. So, the only difference here is that other coaches have been able to get more out of their players than Chin. You can ignore that fact all you want but it is the truth and many on this board believe that.
  11. I honestly don’t believe that we are so low on talent on defense. I simply believe that Chin has not been able to coach these guys to execute what he thinks he wants from them. Let us face it, the defense always looks confused and there are gaping holes in many key locations in the field. If it sounds like a horse and looks like a horse, it is a horse and not a zebra. With the same token, I refuse to believe that all our players on defense are talentless. It is up to the coach to get them ready and simplify the play book for them.
  12. I really think there should be some oversight on new threads. The ‘what if’ threads are getting old.
  13. I can’t agree more with you. You are spot on with your analysis and that is what I have been saying for weeks. I am hopeful that Frost will self evaluate and evaluate his staff very carefully. His loyalty for this program and the state of Nebraska should outweigh his loyalty to his assistants. If he feels that they deserve another year, so be it but let it be after a thorough consideration and not just because they are his friends.
  14. I never expected us to be world beaters in two years but I never expected us to lose to a 2-6 Purdue, be dominated by Minnesota and lose to Indiana. I thought that we would at least finish the second year as 8-4 which will show some progress. We are currently at 4-6 and our only hope to make a bowl is to win out including a win against Iowa who have a very good defense and do not beat themselves. So, did I think we will win a national championship, no. But I also did not think we would struggle to make a bowl in our second year of the Frost era. I honestly don’t even think that Frost himself thought his team would struggle to make a bowl in his second year. Yet here we are. Time to self evaluate and make some adjustments.
  15. No need, Frantzhardyswag already posted the stats and confirms that we have not shown any measurable improvement in defense. The truth of the matter is that we are currently not much better than bottomdwellers Rutgers, Maryland and Northwestern. If we continue in our current trajectory, we will struggle to make a bowl every season. If getting to a bowl is our only objective then Nebraska football is dead. No stats needed. Actions are harder than promises and speeches. Until this team shows some grit and heart, fans will not be satisfied.
  16. So basically, you have no proof...Wisconsin has had changes in their staff over the past six years and the new head coach and his new assistants have continued the success as if there was no transition, proving that good coaches can be successful in their first year. There are many more examples of first year coaches that brought the right assistants and succeeded in their firs year. So, stating that my comments are false is simply your own naive opinion. Time will tell if I am right or wrong about Dewitt and Chin. I am willing to bet good money that they will not survive past next year.
  17. And who do you think you are to simply state it is false without any proof...please stop being arrogant and present proof to the contrary rather than make self righteous statements.
  18. Why do people automatically think that getting a defensive coordinator that knows how to coach is impossible?! keeping Chin because we wanted consistency in our staff is plain stupid. If Frost wants to keep him because he sees something that we don’t, I can understand but wanting to keep a coach not to disrupt the consistency knowing very well that they are not the right person for the job is not a smart move no matter who you are. i have no doubt in my mind that Frost is the right person for Nebraska. I feel that in my bones. However, I simply don’t believe that Dewitt or Chin are right for us or for the BIG. They can be given ten years and they are not magically going to become good coaches. Good coaches are able to show their worth in one year. Chin and Dewitt have had two years and have shown a decline rather than an improvement. Thinking that next year they will get their acts together is simply foolish. This year was one of the easiest seasons we have had in a while and next year will not be any better. If we don’t make a bowl, Frost MUST make some tough decisions and do something to ensure next year will not be another disaster.
  19. Just finished watching Iowa beat 9-0 Minnesota. Their defense is top notch...do we still believe that we can beat them this year?
  20. We need a better defensive coordinator. One who preferably does not look lost in every game and who can put together a four quarter plan. Hoping that a Hyundai Accent will suddenly turn into a Cadillac is hopeless. With the same token, Chin will not magically turn into a juggernaut defensive coordinator no matter how much time he is given.
  21. There are no moral victories any more. I am sorry but moving the ball up and down the field and getting NOTHING out of it is not a sign of progress. We fired Bo after having four 9 win seasons because we wanted something better. Since then, we have struggled to make a bowl and this year will be our fourth year without a bowl. So, forgive me if I don’t see much positive after today’s outing. Being happy that we did not lose by a lot to a Wisconsin team that humiliated us since 2012 is not a moral victory...it is SAD
  22. About three weeks ago, I said that I wished we can get Wisconsin’s recipe and of course I was attacked stating that Wisconsin has not accomplished anything. Well I would say it again, if we get to a point where we can play like Wisconsin, I will be happy. They have been successful by following our recipe from the 90s. I don’t know why we can’t get back to that? One reason is that we do not have the right guy coaching our defense, Chin will never get better...he is who he is and the sooner Frost realizes that, the faster we get back to winning some games.
