  1. FB season is only 16 days away For the most part the team is healthy There haven't been any mass shootings in awhile Nebraska doesn't flood very often USA is kicking ass at the Olympics Nebraska is representin' in RIO WE ARE ALL HUSKERS
  2. I'm firm in Acceptance. But definitely cycled through these.
  3. Looks like things are getting clearer ... http://sports.yahoo.com/news/report-ryan-lochte-u-s-swimmers-fabricated-armed-robbery-story-140805637.html
  4. I added the percentage chance Trump has of winning these states (per 538). So....of those states that you say he has to win, 538 only gives him an above average chance of winning two of them. WTF Missouri?
  5. This just makes me sad. It's hard to believe this was put out there for people to read. and someone else +1 it. I'll take a leap that they would both also say that a rape victim asked for it because of what she was wearing and how she was drinking.
  6. lol, at least some are making serious arguments for themselves, but this is just silly. Why is that? They are all part of the same group defined as "walk ons" so their practices, rules, moral compass's must be the same so let's get rid of them and not let any more come. Because if one was bad then we should ban them all.
  7. Well, I heard that one of last years' walk ons from a small Nebraska town got into some trouble, so Nebraska is no longer taking walk ons. In fact they're going to kick all of the current walk ons that are on the team off the team.
  8. Thanks for the compliment. I started watching elections when I was 10 and have followed politics closely since then. We are stuck in an election with 2 lousy candidates, but it seems most on here want to spend more time just criticizing one, so yes, there is some counter-balancing needed. I'm frankly amazed we are looking at a 4 to 6 point race still at this point given how bad of a month Trump has had and the fact Trump has yet to spend any money on advertising. I think we will see this race tighten once we get past labor day. http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/pow-its-just-a-2-point-race-clinton-38-trump-36/article/2599471 I realize Nate Silver is not a fan of Zogby since Zogby relies on Internet Surveys, but I think this article from Pew is pretty intriguing at the difference responses provided between phone and online surveys. http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/poll-wars-pew-says-internet-polls-often-more-accurate-candid-than-phone-surveys/article/2564575 It's going to end up like Brexit. It has the exact same feel and progression. The Republican Primaries were exactly like Brexit. A lot of people who voted for how it turned out went....WTF...I didn't think he would win. No, not like that. More like people coming out on online forums and social media virtue-signaling and making it appear as though the lead for Clinton is much larger than it is. Huskerboard is good example of this where the pro-Clinton posts are not only more numerous, but are also +1'd at a much higher rate than pro-Trump posts. Yet in the basic straw pole (straw pole) Clinton only "won" by 2 votes. I expect this disparity to continue to permeate through November and for a lot of people to wake up on November 9 genuinely surprised at what happened. Funny you bring up the straw poll - I'd like to run it again now that it's post convention. I'm not so sure the numbers stay where they started.
  9. Hey now, he just wanted to Make Russia Great Again.
  10. Different scenarios because the offense occurred later. And not relevant. We already talked about TO. You have your facts wrong. It's a bad idea going with a version of events based on a single prosecutor's press release. Tom hid a gun in his desk for Abdul Muhammad, he wrote about it in his book. My facts are facts. You just deny and put your opinion out as fact. Saying Tom hid the gun in his desk for Muhammad makes it sound as if Osborne knew the weapon had been used in the commission of a crime and helped cover it up by "hiding" the weapon. This is a false narrative. While Osborne never "hid" weapons for his players he did hold onto them for his players from time to time. There is a huge difference between the two. I didn't want to get into this pissing match, but I have to question ... why would TO "hold onto" weapons for his players? It was a player and it wasn't Muhammad. And he wasn't holding it for him with the intention of giving it back to the player. It was brought to him by a staff member after questions were raised that the player had been involved in a shooting (eventually that player was determined to be not guilty). They "held it" for two days in a secure place between the time they notified campus police that it had been turned in and the day that police came to retrieve it. He didn't hide it or obstruct justice. No one ever questioned, investigated or even considered charging him or his assistant with such actions. A zealous prosecutor gave a quote that fit the narrative of a "nice coach corrupted by a win at all costs attitude." That narrative is easy to understand so people ran with it. Unfortunately, prosecutors are rarely punished for what would be defamatory statements if made against a private citizen. This episode has been rehashed and reexamined numerous times, but the myths persist, just like they do around "county scholarships" because they fit a more interesting narrative than the actual story. I read the comments above to say that unrelated to the Muhammad situation he held weapons "from time to time". Did I misunderstand Elf?

  12. No wonder Don is a mess if this is who he's getting counsel from.
  13. I know it's not something KW started himself, but being one of the most visible coaches on Twitter who uses those messages weekly, and the soccer team never tweeting anything like that before, just seems more than a coincidence. Especially the message today. Think the US women's soccer team might be a better tie in than Keith Williams, but that's only my opinion. No program at UNL is wanted to connect itself in any way to Williams right now.
  14. What a dope. Academic All American that didn't think - or thought he'd get ahead. After not getting drafted and getting a second chance you'd think he'd be smarter.
  15. I think "Motivational Monday" etc. is not something that is specific to KW. It's an internet thing he just jumped onto with a FB spin.
  16. So he'd transfer during the season? His coach at Centennial said this? Doesn't look good to have coach saying that.
  17. Why does it matter how he knew where his ex was that night?
  18. So - thoughts on the supposed armed robbery of 4 of our Olympic Swimmers? Pretty fishy ... latest is that they're being ordered to stay in Brazil (though I think Ryan is already gone) http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/olympics/rio-2016/2016/08/17/us-swimmers-ryan-lochte-police-questioned-robbery/88887608/ My theory on why their stories don't match, why they didn't want to report it to the USOC etc is that it was a drug deal gone bad.
  19. says the guy who just tried to re-define what it means to be a US-born citizen.. yeah, I know.. making American follow American laws and not some other law.. really redefining what it means to be US-born citizen. those pesky moving goalposts.. Did he kill anyone based on that belief? Sooooo.....we wait till these citizens kill someone and then deport them? Exactly. You're just discriminating against them based on your own beliefs before they've done anything wrong. How do we jump from "Do you believe in sharia law" to "are trying to kill as many non-sharia US citizens as they can?" And how do we legally punish people at different ends of that spectrum? One end is a belief, and one end involves action. You can't criminalize beliefs. LOL Liberals are doing just that all the time. Everywhere you look you can find examples. I would cite the prohibitions and laws being enacted and or decreed by the SCOTUS saying that people who believe abortion is murder, a fundamental belief based on Christian values certainly, and those who believe that homosexuality is a sin and morally wrong are prohibited from even speaking about it and certainly may not exercise their Constitutional rights of freedom of religion and freedom of association to refuse to treat them differently. People are NOT required by the Constitution to disavow their beliefs. Those who follow Sharia law (Muslims basically) may believe what they like and live that way but may not refuse to obey American secular laws such as the prohibitions against rape, murder, incest, etc. just because they have chosen to impose Sharia on the community and act accordingly. Oh you can talk about those things all you want, you just have to treat everyone equally and you have no right to tell a woman what she can do with her body. Why is that such an infringement on your beliefs?
  20. I agree with you JJ - as I said somewhere awhile back, unless he gets his brand into straight jackets and psych meds I don't see how this campaign helps him.
  21. Well at least coming from Breitbart we know he will be fair and fact based with any guidance he gives Don. No slant at all at Breitbart.
  22. I'm terrified that my rolling eyes are going to get stuck that way.
  23. Something kinda kooky - I was on FB reading his comments and decided to chime in. Every time I tried to type it froze up and the keypad delayed significantly - I got the circle of death. I logged off and back on three times and never was I able to write to him. I can access all my info, get onto friends pages and etc with no issues. Call me crazy (and I'm not one to have grand thoughts about conspiracy) but I think it's set up to only allow positive supporters to comment - if you have time check it out.
  24. This part isn't wrong, though. And it's kind of dangerous. Refer back to the 'Great Man' thread somebody started. Presidents are office administrators and bureaucrats, but to get there they'd sure like you to see them as heroes. Lone saviors in a dark world. A guiding light to stem the tides of evil. Give them your undying loyalty and admiration. Can you hear these words coming out of his mouth though? My guess is he would word it something like, "I'm great. I'm the greatest guy you could elect because I'm going to do amazing things. Things nobody else could do. I have created thousands of jobs, tens of thousands of jobs that have helped people. Nobody has helped as many people as me. I'm the most amazing supporter of people that there is, I mean I hear a lot of people saying that they wish they could support people like I do. I build buildings, my daughter is a beautiful woman. Women love me - ask anybody, I'm very popular with women. Women't can't get enough of me."
