  1. Yes, but at least Riley is not pissed at his team's performance and making scrunchy faces. We are Nebraska nice!
  2. Is it really "national TV" when most of the country is watching Alabama-LSU?
  3. I sure would like to see OSU have to use their punter -- so we could see Tre Bryant as a punt returner.
  4. 4th and half a yard, where's the fullback that this staff respects and utilizes so much?
  5. "And although we did win a bunch of games, we didn't win the games that mattered."
  6. I admit I stole this topic from another board, however: After the B1G’s announcement about Friday night football, it got me thinking about all the commissioner blunders that have been occurring, especially lately. I found it odd that I knew so many of their names off the top of my head, all for bad reasons. Here are the candidates: Jim Delany (B1G): Most recently, he released that teams would be playing on Fridays. He clearly didn’t ask the universities about this, because there was instant backlash. Responsible for adding Rutgers. Destroyed the CCHA. Anything to make a quick buck > tradition. Greg Sankey (SEC): A few weeks ago he completely botched postponing the Florida/LSU game, and instead it's now a home game for LSU. This didn’t seem like a huge deal at the time, but now Florida is first in the East, and LSU is very much alive in the West. He also spent all summer complaining about satellite camps instead of addressing huge issues at Ole Miss and Tennessee. Bob Bowlsby (Big12): Basically signed a death warrant for the conference. Was bullied by ESPN to halt expansion for a mere $10 million (a whopping $1 million per school). Except for Texas, the payouts for next year are expected to be about $30 million per school. By comparison, B1G and SEC will be ~$50 million. Not sure if the intent to expand was ever even there, or they just needed to convince themselves they were still relevant by trolling G5 teams all summer. Roger Goodell (NFL): LOL, needs no introduction. Gary Bettman (NHL): As recently as last week, he continues to vehemently deny that CTE is linked to concussions. He also went all in on a Las Vegas expansion team instead of more sustainable cities. Three lockouts have almost crippled the NHL under his watch. Sepp Blatter (FIFA): A pinnacle of corruption.
  7. If the scheduling continues to follow this pattern, 2021 could be something special: Home 2021 Non-Conference: Northern Illinois, Buffalo West Division: Northwestern, Wisconsin, Iowa East Division: Michigan, Ohio State Away 2021 Non-Conference: Oklahoma West Division: Illinois, Purdue, Minnesota East Division: Michigan State
  8. There does appear to be a method to the madness. Listed below are the West division crossover games from 2014-19. When the B1G announced adding a ninth conference game (beginning in 2016), I remember Jim Delany commenting that each school would face every other school at least once every three years. I note a pattern in that 2019 crossover games are a "home and home" reversal of 2016. Similarly, perhaps 2020 will be a reverse of 2017, and 2021 a reverse of 2018? Also, every West division team faces a single East crossover in each season from 2016-19: Nebraska-Ohio State, Wisconsin-Michigan, Iowa-Penn State, Minnesota-Maryland, Northwestern-Michigan State, Illinois-Rutgers, and Purdue-Indiana. 2014 Nebraska -- at Michigan State, Rutgers 2015 Nebraska -- Michigan State, at Rutgers 2016 Nebraska -- at Indiana, at Ohio State, Maryland 2017 Nebraska -- Rutgers, Ohio State, at Penn State 2018 Nebraska -- at Michigan, at Ohio State, Michigan State 2019 Nebraska -- Ohio State, Indiana, at Maryland 2014 Wisconsin -- Maryland, at Rutgers 2015 Wisconsin -- Rutgers, at Maryland 2016 Wisconsin -- at Michigan State, at Michigan, Ohio State 2017 Wisconsin -- Maryland, at Indiana, Michigan 2018 Wisconsin -- at Michigan, Rutgers, at Penn State 2019 Wisconsin -- Michigan, Michigan State, at Ohio State 2014 Iowa -- Indiana, at Maryland 2015 Iowa -- Maryland, at Indiana 2016 Iowa -- at Rutgers, at Penn State, Michigan 2017 Iowa -- at Michigan State, Penn State, Ohio State 2018 Iowa -- at Indiana, Maryland, at Penn State 2019 Iowa -- Rutgers, at Michigan, Penn State 2014 Minnesota -- at Michigan, Ohio State 2015 Minnesota -- Michigan, at Ohio State 2016 Minnesota -- at Penn State, at Maryland, Rutgers 2017 Minnesota -- Maryland, Michigan State, at Michigan 2018 Minnesota -- at Maryland, at Ohio State, Indiana 2019 Minnesota -- at Rutgers, Maryland, Penn State 2014 Northwestern -- at Penn State, Michigan 2015 Northwestern -- at Michigan, Penn State 2016 Northwestern -- at Michigan State, Indiana, at Ohio State 2017 Northwestern -- Penn State, at Maryland, Michigan State 2018 Northwestern -- Michigan, at Michigan State, at Rutgers 2019 Northwestern -- Michigan State, Ohio State, at Indiana 2014 Illinois -- at Ohio State, Penn State 2015 Illinois -- at Penn State, Ohio State 2016 Illinois -- at Rutgers, at Michigan, Michigan State 2017 Illinois -- Rutgers, Indiana, at Ohio State 2018 Illinois -- Penn State, at Rutgers, at Maryland 2019 Illinois -- Michigan, Rutgers, at Michigan State 2014 Purdue -- Michigan State, at Indiana 2015 Purdue -- at Michigan State, Indiana 2016 Purdue -- at Maryland, Penn State, at Indiana 2017 Purdue -- Michigan, at Rutgers, Indiana 2018 Purdue -- Ohio State, at Michigan State, at Indiana 2019 Purdue -- at Penn State, Maryland, Indiana
  9. And for which he will be forever known, "I have done an excellent job in every area."
  10. ESPN or ABC, who cares? All the Omaha Jaysker bandwagon fans will watching their Cubbies on Fox.
  11. Yeah, I seem to remember the same thing last year.
  12. I forget, how many points did Purdue score against Nebraska last year?
  13. What a stupid post, considering Banker's defense gave up 55 last year to Purdue, and is now on pace to do the same today. You know, I didn't see any articles in the Nebraska media analyzing the horrific Blackshirts performance last season in West Lafayette. I guess that's what happens when they still are fixated on rehashing all things Pelini.
  14. I have to give Riley credit. He said he was going to run the ball more and has stuck to his guns. The offensive line seemed to take over the game with three walkons filling in. It's a four quarter game. Last year NU loses this game.
  15. The days of NU fans invading places like Lawrence and Manhattan are over. Lots of Husker fans in Bloomington? Probably not. For whatever reason, NU fans just won't travel to the state of Indiana. Lots of excuses... game is on TV already, too far, can't spring for a motel, whatever. The B1G championship in 2012 had 20,000+ unsold tickets. Last year at Purdue, the stadium was less than half full.
  16. When are black athletes going to learn from the "average American" how to behave during the National Anthem?
  17. They're scheduled to play in the regular season -- Thursday night November 17th in Houston. ... assuming the free world survives after the election.
  18. Best non-conference win since the 2013 Gator Bowl (NU wasn't favored) NU was a three point favorite today despite being unranked. So it's kind of a misleading stat -- only 4 non-conference regular season games vs. ranked teams since 2001 2006 at USC, 2007 USC, 2009 at Virginia Tech, 2013 UCLA In that time there have been 3 bowl wins vs. ranked teams 2005 Michigan, 2009 Arizona, 2013 Georgia. So it's a nice spin job by the SID to frame this as The. Greatest. Win. Ever.

  20. 3 man rush on 3rd and 26? When will Banker ever learn.
  21. Why do you design a play where a RB has to make an over the shoulder catch on a backwards pass? I know it wasn't far - but the positioning of the players made that a fairly difficult catch - and if you don't make the catch the play is a disaster - as we saw.
