  1. NIL is absolutely crushing it for us. Gigantic advantage.
  2. One small thing that could work in our favor is there’s really no pressure from our end. He can commit/flip to us on signing day if he so chooses. Obviously it would be more ideal to join our commit list early to help peer recruit but our staff can let him take his time and enjoy the recruiting process however he pleases. I’m sure Georgia is letting him as well for now, but if USC and Oregon start to gain momentum, we might see Kirby start to apply pressure.
  3. Definitely a lot of momentum for Georgia but still feels like we have an outside shot.
  4. Yeah, I’d say finding a starting edge rusher through the portal will be the hardest going forward. The true game changers are not transferring and if they are, they are immediately getting scooped up by the haves. Can say what you want about Ochaun Mathis’ production here, but when we landed him last year it was major national news for a reason. I think we are going to continue to see G5 OLs become major portal additions for teams. I mean an All-MAC OT is probably good enough to start for every 6 win or worse team in the country and probably even for some teams that are better than that. Proven production will continue to mean more than offers a player received while in HS.
  5. Good call on McClain. Sounds like Bama is still trying to get him in the picture, and there’s still time. But if McClain is truly in CO right now then even that’s a pretty big win for Deion’s chances of landing the #1 CB a 2nd year in a row. Gotta imagine they’ll be tough to throw on the next two years we play them. Their front 7 needs a ridiculous amount of help though and DBs can’t cover forever.
  6. About what you’d expect, he obviously came away very impressed with Georgia but it sounds like he wants to take some visits and isn’t rushing to make a decision which is good news for us.
  7. This says to look for Oregon, USC, and Georgia but mentions us and TCU as dark horses.
  8. Was hoping we’d get traction here. Big time get for USC.
  9. I watched his film and it’s great. Thought he might be more of a TE prospect but nope, pure outside WR. In his film, it looked like he was 5’10” for some of it and shot up to 6’4” in some of it. So probably a true late bloomer.
  10. 247 doesn’t show any EE’s currently but that may be a mistake since I remember reading in the summer that Bootle planned on it (not sure if that’s still the plan).
  11. Still a very meh prep class (ranked #43 on 247), probably in part to the timing. From the outside looking in, I think Deion’s #1 goal is to get his QB son drafted and it was going to take some pretty ridiculous roster turnover to help with that, so I am not surprised to see them hitting the transfer portal hard. It’s actually probably much better than they currently are rated as several of their transfers don’t even have a rating yet including an all-American honorable mention TE from Arkansas State. We will see if they can get some portal additions on defense because they’re going to need it just as bad. Still, it looks like a coach trying hard for a 1-2 year turnaround so he can leave for a better job and less like a coach setting up a great foundation, at least so far. Our #28th ranked prep recruiting class is setting us up for the long haul better in my opinion. Plus several of our transfers haven’t received a transfer rating yet either.
  12. It’s from landing Travis Hunter, the 5-Star ATH who went to Jackson State. Was expected that he’d follow Deion to Colorado but definitely a big pick up for them. Should be a fun matchup on both sides for us next year.
  13. Looks like some really solid transfers. They needed it. But prep recruiting looks really meh. Flipped a very good RB from ND. Took a couple projects. And then some meh in between. Nothing to worry about. Maybe they’ll have a big January.
  14. His mom is a Nebraska fan to her core, and there’s at least a small chance she or a family member reads this thread. Let’s remember it’s just one crystal ball and we haven’t officially lost him yet. I know that sometimes it’s flash and BS that recruits fall for but in the Wiltfong article, Malachi stated they like Colorado’s offensive game plan for him. Maybe it’s just that simple.
  15. Very fair point. These days, safety depth is one of the most important depth positions in football though with how often they get banged up or called for targeting. You just never know how many times you’ll be on a 2nd or 3rd string safety for a week or a half. Collier should be a key depth component at the minimum.
  16. Am I naive for not being worried in the least here? Just feels like his whole family wants him N and he will be N in the end.
  17. Colorado hired a Texas A&M assistant coach so if he goes there, it may be as simple as that. We got his first OV which feels notable.
  18. I’ve had some questions about some of the hires but I really like this one. Seems like a really promising hire. Dino Babers is offense through and through so you know this guy’s defensive unit is all his.
