  1. Appears Riley is upgrading from Beav ass'ts to Domer guys, eh? Why didn't he do this from the get go?
  2. I got this: America's 1st and Nazi Germany circa 1937 is in the 2 spot.
  3. I'm tempted to use the "C" word re DeVos, but its reserved for Conway.
  4. I want studs top and bottom, as many as possible, that's what I'm saying. Who doesn't? And...how does that contradict my post? You mentioned "studs" vs the other "bottom" guys. Nvm, semantics, I guess..He's pointing out that our top to bottom is getting better. Very easy to see, not sure how you're missing it. And yeah, who doesn't want 5* talent top to bottom? Not sure why you think you're the only one. For someone who claims to be realistic... According to his numbers, over the course of 5 yrs the recruiting has "improved" by 0.032. To me, realistically speaking, those #s are irrelevant, unless of course you like the tiniest of baby steps. We've been in a recruiting holding pattern from Bo til now. You recruit @ 20 something, you finish @ 20 something. For someone who claims to be interested in recruiting, you don't seem to understand recruiting ratings much. A 0.032 difference is actually substantial, especially when you are talking about an average. Feel free to keep making assumptions without doing any reasearch or bringing actual data to the table. I'm guessing you are a climate skeptic too. Playin the Mother Nature card eh, yer really reachin there, bud. HOLDING PATTERN! Those #s are meaningless spin, tiny little baby step movements in the 3* range that have hovered n that range for yrs. What happens if nxt year it goes, say, 0.8100? So much for "gains".
  5. I want studs top and bottom, as many as possible, that's what I'm saying. Well no sh#t. I think we all do. But you don't go from where we are to there overnight. You improve your core top to bottom (which was the point to the post being referenced) and then develop those recruits into better players, and then you win a few more games with said improvement More wins on the field gets us better recruits which become better players which win more on the field that gets us better recruits which become better players which win more on the field that gets us better recruits which become better players which win more on the field.... You get it yet???? Is this a poem, its in stanzas? Re recruiting, I repeat, "holding pattern". But yeah, I got all that, but thanks for breaking it down again for me. So, to recap, we beat out SDSU for a 2-3* NE kid who has academic probs and no other offers and is "great" Omaha competition where we rarely gain any other recruits and this is the only back that decided to come to NE. Why should I be concerned, right? 2 yrs ago we were scratching to get Ozig and las year the same w Tre--both slowish 3*. Why should I be concerned, right.
  6. http://nebraska.tv/news/local/sex-for-sale-in-nebraska-human-trafficking-hidden-in-plain-sight Hard to believe it's happening within the US.Been going on for years. OK has been an epicenter for sex trafficing for yrs and now its in NE. Well, if there was no demand... Migrant/immigrant farm labor is to a large degree labor trafficking, same model, just labor instead of sex, though there can be overlap. you can't be seriousOh, construction, nannies, all kinds of stuff. Its the "new" slave labor. "Migrant workers are especially targets of human trafficking and forced labor, ..." http://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.solidaritycenter.org/what-we-do/migration-and-human-trafficking/&sa=U&ved=0ahUKEwiAkaiQnIHSAhXCi1QKHehdCZwQFggOMAA&sig2=MddxmhqTEzt8_EJO93K0tQ&usg=AFQjCNHo4C8KWM703ADvpqQUenplM4qPEQ Or just google, "human trafficking, migrant labor" Wait, what? People are nanny-ing against their will? I gave the links...

Not sure why you think you're the only one. For someone who claims to be realistic... He has demanded it in 224 straight posts, he wants it more than you.... Quit settling for average backs. 8-9 wins hope you like it. You do, I can tell. Leonard Fournette..... Ameer Abdullah! Running Back! Need more horses!Like ads, ya gotta repeat things a ton to get the message thru. Husker Fan has been rationalizing "average" for too long now. Nobody has really explained to me why we only got one 2* guy from Omaha, though, was anybody else even interested? Calabasas, anything?
  9. I don't mean to over-generalize your statements, but I just saw strong conversations back and forth about the RB position. The OL has been my talking point this off-season regarding the running game. As for OSU, there are two overly simplified items that could be said for the game. The first being that we lost our 4 year starting QB. He was carted off the field and taken to the hospital by ambulance. Now, one could say you just play through that, but that's a lot for a team of college students to see happen to a teammate. The second is the defense. Regarding the first, even with Tommy in, he was throwing the deep ball and missing. He's usually good for 1 maybe 2 of those a game, but he hit zero of them. Tommy had issues reading the field, but he had bigger issues with just always throwing the deep ball no matter what. I contend that a QB who doesn't play that way is an upgrade. Is Tanner Lee that guy? I'm not sure, I haven't seen him play, but if he cuts down on half of the Yolo Bombs and into a few more completions that keep a drive alive. I like it. (FTR, I loved Tommy, he was tough). Regardless, this game you really started to see the issues of the OL. Add that to the fact that you're playing from behind, and losing starting QB. Throw in a cold QB who didn't practice the game plan as intensely as your starter against one of the best teams in the nation. I don't know if more needs to be said. They just didn't get it together. And then there's the defense. OSU had themselves a game, and well, we gave up a lot of big plays. I don't know how successful Bob Diaco and his system will be, but the "quarters" system wasn't that great of a fit for this team. Gerry was someone I think will look better in the pro's than his last year here. And that's saying A LOT, because he still looked good. But I think he will thrive outside of the quarters system in the NFL (of course, depending on where he goes). Generally speaking, a lot of teams look bad playing from behind. Every team in the nation, even the best of them, look desperate throwing the ball a lot when playing behind. The difference is how well your QB throws in those situations. Tommy missed on targets, and so did Ryker. Add all that up and you get a lot of 3 and outs. Then just making your defense go out there again and again. But almost every team gets in that funk at some point. Ours was against a playoff team. OSU did the same thing in their playoff game. Rushing only 23 times (11 were from JT Barrett, 3 of those were sacks), and Barrett throwing 2 INTs. Washington also did it in their game against Bama. As for Bradley (that's his name!), I saw him squeeze through holes and get some tough yards. He also has more TD's in Memorial Stadium than the rest of the returning RB's... Of course, this is against HS athletes, so that should be taken into account. Still, after seeing him play in person, I like the kid. But I have been wrong about prospects before. Thanks for the well thought post. Forget about the defense, they looked ttly lost @ OSU--dont know what was going on there, but I don't think they were 59 points better than us. The 3 points doesn't sit well, though. After TA went down, one would think we could line up and mostly pound the rock and at least get a could of scores on them. As to Bradley, well, a guy has to be able to break tackles and that was Newby's big problem--otherwise a pretty good back. But when you look at his dirth of offers, gotta be honest, sends up red flags for me. Usually at least Ohio or YSU or UCF now will offer NE players. And he was the only guy we got, makes me nervous. King Frazier was just as good, prlly, looked real good on film, and he bolted to NDSU, couldn't get more than the 3rd spot. Ok, my man, thanks.

  12. sorry about the double posts, bad wifi today.
  13. Good points re the OL. I surely haven't been contending that it's all on the RBs. So @ tOSU, what happened there? No answers from either the OL, the RBs, or the coaches. I tend to think they were athletically superior to us across the board, which is my main contention in wanting to get better RBs. In your opinion, what happened in that game? Also, as to Bradly(Bellevue RB) the only vid I've seen of him shows him running wild mainly in space, nothng between the tackles. Is he a physical runner, can he break tackles and make things happen?
  14. Mikale Wilbon and Adam Taylor were both :star :star 's coming out of high school. https://nebraska.rivals.com/commitments/football/2013 Interestingly enough, they both keep getting beat out for playing time and the #1 RB spot by "just 3 stars". Makes you wonder, doesn't it? Had hi hopes for Taylor, thought he may the next big thang. Well, he had bad knees coming in, bad ACL injuries in h.s., if I recall. Still, was supposedly cleared, but then I think he injured them again @ NU. So we will never know.Haven't completely given up on Wilbon, shows some flashes but doesn't look to be a between the tackle guy. Not big on blocking either, as yet, which is what is mainly keeping him off the field. Perhaps he was overrated, yes, overrated. Tre deserves a 4th star over him. Tre appears to have a chance, we shall see. Didn't you already write him off earlier in this thread? Saying he would never be a 1,000 yard back? "appears to have a chance". You undertsand English, right. I don't think I said "never", but if I did, what I mean is, at best, I think he will gravitate around 1000 yds and that may not be every year from here on out. I like the kid, I'm hopin' for some upside. But, as of now, I don't see him as being any more distinguishable than any other "good" back that any other average team has.I get it, you're trying to get a rise outta me. Keep swinging. Maybe, when you get a chance, you can provide your own insights as to why any of our current backs will be more than just servicable. Otherwise, why don't you just run along and bother somebody else. That's my point. I, nor anybody else that I've seen, has made the argument that our current running backs will be anything more then serviceable. You just continue to argue with yourself. Nobody has argued that we don't need to recruit better running backs. Some, myself included, have taken issue with you discounting the potential of Tre Bryant after his Freshman year, or even Ozigbo after an injury littered Sophomore season... But, we get it. You're confrontational. The board already has you figured out. Hell, you've even been nominated for a certain Hall of Fame on the board... Awesome, but I really wasn't seeking fame. If I win, I'll donate the prize to charity.

  17. And McQuitty is 6'2.Oh, ok, that's good then. I guess Lindsay and that Calvin are the shorter guys. just Lindsay. Calvin flipped to WazzuI realize that, I had been looking at Calvin b4 he flipped.
  18. Not sure I follow. Bama has studs top and bottom, throughout. Sooo... Well, if we can get a majority of 4* players rather than 3*, across the board, I think that's the key.

  20. I wonder, how do they have comparative DNA samples from your alleged ancestors in the 1st place, i.e., how can they know about your great great great grandpappy Chuck in Zimbabwe, when molecular science didn't exist for Chuck? She also believes vaccines cause autism. So she's not the sharpest tool in the shed.Been listening to Alex Jones, prlly.
  21. No, no, no its much more realistic that one almighty, all-seeing, all-loving deity created the entire universe in 6 days. Decided to kick back with two of his greatest friends, himself and himself, for a cold beer on the seventh because he was tired from all the work. Decided the world needed some sort of species to look like him so he took clay and dirt to make this being. But that wasnt good enough, this really stupid god-like being needed another stupid god-like being with longer hair. So this deity took the 13th rib from the first stupid god-like being and created the long hair god-like being. But this deity wanted to keep these two god-like being from being critical and free thinkers. It loved the fact they were stupid as hell and couldnt question their existence. But he wanted to test them so he created an apple and said dont eat this. But because these stupid god-like beings are not actually god, and god actually messed up when creating them on accident, they felt intrigued by this apple. Then a talking snake showed up out of nowhere and told them to eat the apple. They didnt understand what this creature even was or that these creatures dont talk, so these two stupid god-like beings were confused and ate the apple. They then became really embarrassed because neither of them had clothes on, even though clothes werent even a thing yet. And the deity told them well now that you are smarter, I cant help you anymore and if you mess up I will torture you for eternity in a pit of fire. Couple thousand years went by, including a flood that killed every god-like person, now called sinners, and every animal except for two on Earth because this deity wanted to start over. Two kangaroos traveled thousands of miles to get on this boat. Two penguins from Antartica did the same thing. It was quite remarkable actually. So after this deity killed everyone to start over he decided to make a loophole for his mistake, so he sacrificed himself to himself and everyone was saved, except for the folks that were born too early in history, they are being tortured for eternity. Yay! This is way more realistic than your stupid theory! Sarcasm LOLOLOLOLOLOL, fab!!! Did you know that Noah invented the Pooper Scooper? One other thing, why did Gawd give Eve a va-JJ? (Ans: so Adam would talk to her...OUCH!)
  22. I thought the "or something" part made it obvious? You did the same thing in the football forum. If something sounds really really stupid, it's probably too stupid to be true. Although with Trump as president I suppose it's hard to tell now. If you say Belichick is a "hack", I guess I didn't know either way, alotta peeps hate Belichick. I'll go back and reread. Besides, I was having to fight off those other guys who were slammin me about RBs. At least I got a chance to diss on CNN. Ok, I'm up to speed on your sarcasm, we're good now, let er rip.
  23. Who said that? I think it's ridiculous to jump to conclusions as most people usually do based on the media which is there to make money and entertain. We see it all the time and people never learn. Hate to break it to ya but this has always been a divided country and always will be. It is a republic with a democratic election(That alone divides the country) and it is filled with a lot of different ethnic groups that all have different motives and incentives. Honestly, you want a country on more of the same page? Switch to a monarchy. Monarchy, that's sarcasm, right? I'm trying to get better @ sarcasm, because I've been informed I'm no good at it.
  24. Ok, if that was sarcasm, then maybe I understood what she was going for. I don't know Moraine enough to know where she's coming from.
