  1. I was in attendance and was again impressed. We look damn good this year. We dig much better than we did last year, and its nice to see us off to a great start facing some tough opponents.
  2. part of your problems may be because that version cited above isn't what matches what I have sung: Hail to the Team, Hail to the Scarlet and Cream, Cheers for a victory, Echo our loyalty, So on mighty men, We're gonna triumph again, Fight on for Victory, Hail to the men of Nebraska U. I am in the Men's Choir at UNL and that's kinda our song, so I'll see if I can find our music or a recording of us. There are many versions of this song.
  3. well, I'm a student, so I will be at all the home games and possibly the migration game to UT.

The only reason I am happy is because I have an autographed rookie card. Now on to the hall of fame so I can help pay off college loans.
  5. I own and dominate that Runza Hungry Helmet game!!! They can keep that (helps build up my severe lack of self-confidence ) But other than my absolute supremacy over that game, I completely agree with you. They could utilize the HuskerVision screens better, specifically for fans.... very true. Maybe they should make the runza helmet game harder... The tunnel walk is good, but other than that the big screen just takes away from a lot of stuff on the field. We do need to use it more effectively. I don't really care about the music, I just don't like associating Nebraska football with Phil Collins whenever I hear that song at work.
  6. i agree we as students can always bring it better, but a lot of students don't see the point when the rest of the crowd is sitting on their hands. Crowds should be known as a whole, not just by section. Students should be the loudest and most creative, but lets not just point fingers. Have we ever been known for just our students? We are the sea of red, so step it up as a sea of red. I agree we need to do more. I wish we did something like a&m or had a big gathering. The pregame stuff really isn't all that exciting here because there isn't one big parking lot or meeting place like in other places. I guess i don't know why I am trying to stand up for the whole student body, I just don't like my colors being tested. I am through and through one of the biggest fans I know, and I show up every game. I have no problem taking some responsibility but jeez I hate people finger pointing other fans.
  7. this will be my 4th year as a student, and everyone except for a select few stand the entire game. I hardly ever hear or see any other section even stand up unless the north gets up for a goal line situation. Could the students be louder, yeah, but I don't think the students are underachieving. I hate pointing fingers at other fans. Many times I hear other students saying it sounds like we are the only ones making any noise except for the tunnel walk or touchdowns. I think we are fortunate to have the atmosphere we do have, and although I wish more of the stadium would get into and stay into the whole game, I am still plenty happy with our crowd. It is one of the only streaks we still have going for us.
  8. there is always worlds of fun/oceans of fun, the plaza is good for shopping, there used to be a science city which would be good depending on the kids' ages.
  9. Yeah, I can see us screwing up and losing, but I still think we hold the upper hand. Wake may have been good last year, but that was in the weakest ACC I have ever seen. They beat GA tech in the champ who was not very good. They lost a lot of key players, and we SHOULD have a good offense. If our D can hold their offense, which shouldn't amaze anyone, I can't see the game running away from us. Can we lose it, of course, but we can't go in there scared of them. Respect them, but certainly don't fear them.
  10. And we lose 8-3. They played one hell of a game. Very sound defensively. Their pitcher was a little erratic with walks, and got pulled after only giving up one hit. They hit us very well, and played very aggresively. We never seemed to be in the game.
  11. Hey, that's a good idea. It's amazing how loud it gets when the North endzone tells the West and the East sides that it is okay to be loud. I know it has to do with field position and who we are playing, but there is no atmosphere better than when that place starts rockin. I wish some of our fans stayed "into" the game a little more. I still agree with the sea of red, but lately there has just been too much talk about it. This stuff just happens, people wear red, it isn't like someone is threatening to take away our nickname. If people want to claim a redout for sc then let them, I'll be there in red anyways, and it sounds like everyone else will be too.
  12. Yeah, we should not underestimate the importance of this weekend series. We really need a good showing from our fans. I just hope everyone knows how good this team is. They are only 5-2 in away games, so we need a big crowd to shake them up a little. They are a top 20 team, so this would be a HUGE series to take.
  13. I just think it is ignorant to say their fans are terrible because they like our football team and not our basketball team. I will take a husker fan any day. I am a student here at NU, and I attend almost every home basketball, football, baseball, and occasionally a soccer game or track meet. I bleed husker red. With that being said, when Nebraska's bball season is over, I do root for the bluejays. Not because I like them more, it is because our season is over and I would rather have a team from Nebraska do better than a team from anywhere else. I understand there are people who have only liked the Jays since they started to do well, but that is what happens in sports. I don't think it is fair to say the majority of Creighton fans are idiots because a lot of them are Husker fans, too. So what if they want to be fans of their bball team, they are from Omaha, and that kind of gives them a right to cheer for the home team. I want our program to pick up, and when it does, people will start to show up again. Let the Creighton fans be fans, and lets not be bitter about their success. Ours will come soon enough. Sorry for the long post, I am just saying it isn't like this is uncommon. It happens all the time in sports and lets not try to turn them off of liking Husker football just because they cheer for a different bball team. They are in an odd situation up there, and many of them are bandwagon fans. One can be fans of more than one team. Would I like to see more allegiance one way or the other, sure, but it isn't like we play them a whole lot.
  14. Pow... I had a professor get yelled at because he was responding to her email, and while talking to his mother, accidentally wrote "love, His name" as a closing. This was incidental and the girl immediately dropped the class. I know it was a little wierd, but some people are very sensitive. This is just another case. It may have been a little soon for that school considering what happened, but I don't think he needed to get canned.
  15. It was just that guy being a prick. I was there, too. There was only one that I saw, and he was in left field. Plenty of balls went into the third base berm, and they all got to keep them. I have been there this season against mizzou and the player out there let one kid keep a ball he got, too. I saw the guy, and he looked like this was his dream job. He was just being an ass. We all know he didn't need to get that ball back. Poor kid, at least he won't be like those other kids I saw at the game and grow up liking texas. What the hell is wrong with those parents?
  16. Wow, I'm tired. Please stop quoting seven posts at a time, it makes my brain hurt. Keller will be fine. My friend had his 21st last weekend, and Keller and Mo purify were there, TOGETHER, and bought him many drinks. That's all I care about...and maybe the line blocking for him...and the RB's picking up blitzes...and the other wideouts catching his balls...and...O NO, I hope they all can just get along. Let's all just play nice and let these men settle, or not settle in case there is nothing actually going on, and move on with our lives. I hear it's baseball season.
  17. Hmmm, I will say we will have to wait and see since I can't access the pay site. I will blindly agree with most points, and somewhat disagree with some, probably more far-fetched analysis about our defense saying what we lack. We probably won't be amazing, but we are definitely capable to get back to the big 12 champ game. All we need is for them to step up when its crunch time, and having a potent offense will help to offset for the positions we lack on D.
  18. Great game. Two of the homers went right over my head. Watson threw a hell of a game again (2 hits, i believe only 1 walk and he hit the guy). Augie got thrown out on a good call by the ump, and our bats were hot. Lets keep this going through the weekend. Oh, and it was a beautiful night.
  19. its actually a cool picture of those two too. Good luck to them. They will face some tough cometition, but they are amazing.
  20. with a name like roundtree shouldn't he be a guard or a DT?
  21. Paul is one of my close friends. I have been in contact with him throughout the past few days and he said none of his immediate friends were among the wounded or injured, but his father (a former professor at VT and currently here) did know one of the staff murdered. I will be attending the vigil tonight at the UNL campus (8:30 in front of the union). Anyone else in the area should stop by.
  22. wow, that's a small stadium. That would be nice to gave the # advantage. It would not be easy, but we don't go to the east coast too often. We'll see, but it looks like they are nervous already.
  23. yeah, I was in the left field berm too. I think he dropped the ball, but it was way after the tag.
  24. that sounds like us husker fans.
