  1. It's not like the coaches made him switch positions. He willingly filled the role because of several key injuries so calling him our starting running back is a stretch. Was he "misused" or was he given opportunities to showcase everything he could do? Go back and listen to some of his interviews from that season - he stated on numerous occasions he wanted to do everything he could do to help the team win. His decision to transfer likely did have some to do with how he was utilized but the elephant in the room was his mom's health and his lack of ability, due to Covid, for him to be able to go home to see his family. Bottom line is I agree it was a good decision. I just disagree with playing the blame game on Frost for trying to get the ball in his hands as often as possible. He was really all we had and he was willing to be that guy for us during that season.
  2. How much will a gallon of gas cost next year? Heck, even next week? We all understand your point but this question doesn't have an answer because it's a moving target. The reality is Nebraska is doing pretty good with NIL but the real question is are we doing enough to eventually compete with the best programs in the country? My guess is not yet but time will tell.
  3. I would agree it looks like he is coming here but there is the possibility that is intentional to try to get more cash from Texas. Hope not...
  4. I think we all know that number will forever be a moving target. Being in the process of raising doesn't mean they will get it or use all of it. Just like with anything, they will spend as little as they can to land the recruits they want.
  5. That's where we don't agree - Florida doesn't need 20 million to compete in the SEC. Just because their coach pulled a number out of his a$$ doesn't make it fact. Your trying to point out that Nebraska sucks in this department but the reality is we have no idea what our "annual pool" is. Should we believe Casey that Nebraska is doing pretty good? “First off, when I first got here they told me — like 17 or 18 different football players had vehicles. That’s unheard of,” Thompsons said on the podcast. “At Texas it was me, Bijan Robinson and one defensive starter — like 3 guys. “Nebraska athletics, there’s like 70 or 80 people across all sports that have either an apartment or a car or they’re getting NIL deals. … You’re gonna make six figures. If you’re a starter here on the football team, you can make over six figures.” https://saturdaytradition.com/nebraska-football/casey-thompson-on-nil-differences-between-nebraska-texas-you-can-make-6-figures-here/
  6. No, I'm saying that anytime millions of dollars are on the table, there is a high likelihood of corruptness. Of course all coaches want a huge balance to offer players.... doesn't mean they will get it. If Napier really needed 10 million, do you think he would ask for that much or shoot higher?
  7. I understand where you are coming from but we know many amounts are being exaggerated. Agents are glad to float ridiculous amounts out there to drive their commissions up on future deals. 17 year old's are also glad to exaggerate amounts in the ego driven society we live in. Writers for the athletic aren't above taking a cut to drive the fees up either. Players are making ridiculous money, there is no doubt. However, published amounts should be taken with a grain of salt.
  8. Hunter49, is that you? Another amazing take.
  9. I guess if you are taking leftovers, may as well take them from Alabama and Georgia.
  10. Stats and data tell a different story from last years team. They were actually a pretty solid team that found ways to lose. Frost has only coached 4 years with 2 of them being extremely out of the ordinary. What are you talking about? Thurston from Pender, is that you?
  11. I think this statement is still accurate. We have beat ourselves recently against the lesser competition.
  12. Crazy... a right handed QB running right. You ever see a right handed QB run left and try to throw down field accurately while still moving? Not many guys can do that. He is "wired" the same as every other right handed QB. So you are saying the whole teams needs to improve... got it.
  13. Our spring game was bad because the plan sucked. Alabama players would have looked bad with those protective rules. Add to your other takes, have another beer and relax...
  14. It was Bad. The spring game is held to provide fan entertainment, enhance recruiting, and maybe make a couple dollars. Nothing wrong with the staff deciding to stay vanilla to keep players safe but the overall production and entertainment value stunk. Have a linemen field goal contest, abuse a cat, let a sick kid score a touchdown, do something that isn't boring as hell. You know, make it fun for all involved. It's not on Scott- that's on Trev and team imo.
  15. Even those of us still full of Kool-Aid struggled to watch much of the spring game... it was pretty bad.
  16. I liked it better when it was under the table honestly but I do agree with you and Mavric. There is no stopping the flow of money to secure recruits.
  17. He has been committed for months. He is still in the portal because he wasn't academically eligible for the free transfer. He is supposedly getting his grades inline so he can leave at A&M at the end of the semester.
  18. True but but my source really doesn't do that unless he really doesn't know... and he should know.
  19. I'm hearing they are still "very optimistic" that he will be able to play this fall but that there are still some variables with healing time and rehab. I don't think anyone is getting a clear answer simply because there isn't one known yet. I was told to expect him to be a significant part of the offense if/when he is healthy and on the field.
  20. That isn't true at all. Many teams bring kids in to add depth to essentially replace the guys who were 3, 4, and 5 on the depth chart who decided to transfer. Every coach tries to make an upgrade with the transfers but they are not always 2 deep guys. However, I think fan bases get all googly eyed over someone who might be better than who they have so they set unrealistic expectations of the new kids and then get disappointed when they aren't stars right away.
  21. Many teams take transfers to add depth. Many of those transfers end up leaving to go to lower level schools once they realize they just aren't power 5 caliber guys. A select few make lateral transfers that work out but that isn't the norm. Frost has taken many chances that didn't pan out but I think most other coaches would have done the same if placed in his shoes. We are by no means the only school with a revolving door right now. I don't care for it at all but the only thing that slows the merry go round down is winning. Hopefully they can accomplish that this year.
  22. We start winning at a high level and stadium renovations will be on the table. Until then it is a very pointless conversation imo.
  23. I agree and can't blame him. He has a huge payday coming and nothing is guaranteed in the future. May as well make all he can right now.
  24. The entire hay market area will be great atmosphere for all but plan on it being busy. Plenty of great restaurants. My kids like Buzzard Billy's. Take the kids to Hurts Donut Co for desert prior to the game. All the kids I have taken there loved it. Find a way to watch the marching band- others can help with this. The tunnel walk is cool if they are doing it but so is the experience from your seat- can't go wrong wither way.
