  1. You are definitely entitled to your opinion. I think with improved special teams we are 10 points or so better per game. Add in a couple competent O linemen and maybe we are averaging close to 40 PPG. I'm in the camp that thinks Frost has massively underperformed but can still see a possibility of the system being great. I guess time will tell.
  2. Not trying to prove anyone right or wrong- just was curious on a slow Friday so here is the data. I'll start by saying Devaney's PPG is lower than all the coaches who have followed him here. For that reason, I am not grouping him with Osborne. I think we all know that Osborne's offenses scored more points. He averaged 36.78 points per game over his 25 year coaching career at Nebraska. No doubt, we were fantastic. We were in the top 5 scoring offenses the majority of his time here. Solich dropped off almost immediately in PPG. In Osborne's last year, 1997, we averaged 46.7 points per game. In 1998 we averaged 31. Solich had one good year, from a PPG stand point, in 2000 with 43.5 PPG. His overall average was 34.2 with his low point in his last year at 27.4. That leaves the Osborn/Solich era at 36.3. I'm not sure why you are skipping over 3 coaches before Frost because that is where the average dropped. The Callahan, Pelini, and Riley era averaged 29PPG. Frosts PPG is 28.3 if 2020 is removed. 2020 is very different from a PPG standpoint because there were no stat padding non conference games so it isn't apples to apples. Take what you will from the numbers.
  3. The data would seem to disagree with you... It makes more sense to follow the actual trend in college football. Modern spread offenses score more points.
  4. He is a sophomore has 3 years remaining. Everyone is old for their class right now. He probably will transfer but it has more to do with his ability to process at this level.
  5. If he would have learned the system before the end of this season, he would have gotten more playing time.
  6. How many accounts do you have Huskerlaw?
  7. I think we know what we would be getting with Casey. Purdy is much harder to gauge imo. The sample size is too small and there were other circumstances impacting him. Injury, disfunctional team, etc...
  8. Agreed but it's sad because the kid played with injuries quite a bit. Just bad luck.
  9. I agree we need to get more of the top players out there for ST. I think that has been limited over the last couple years due to serious depth issues. Hopefully some of those have been corrected.
  10. Let me do everything I can to put a negative spin on anything remotely positive... Seriously man. To your last paragraph-. You do realize coaches can't work with players outside of their allowed practice times, right? Nothing but time year round?? You are out of touch. No matter how much negative crap you post, Frost will coach the team in 2022. Give it a rest and maybe give the new staff a chance.
  11. I thought that originally but I'm wondering if TA has a lot more patience than we think. The national narrative about the big 10 having patience with coaches, and it paying off, is going to give all ADs pause before firing I think.
  12. Or it could be because they kick the crap out of the other teams from the other leagues. There may be some SEC bias but you can't reasonably say that Georgia and Alabama aren't the two best teams this year or that they were undeserving of any of the other past nominations. I think the committees have done a pretty dang good job of putting the best teams in each year. That has nothing to do with ESPN, Money, or some kind of favoritism. They have just simply been better.
  13. Would have to go down to 10 pre-tournament games to stay at a 16 game max. Early rounds would be a snooze fest but there might be the occasional upset.
  14. Only if CCGs remains a thing. I was imagining week 11 being a pair against your equal week. Top from each division play each other, 2nd in each play each other, etc... Top 4 from each power 5 make it in along with top 4 outside power 5. Don't see it happening but not much else to discuss right now.
  15. No problem paying the kids for the bowl game but it won't stop the NFL bound kids from opting out. 5k vs millions...
  16. 12 regular season games followed by a bracket similar to below leads to a max of 16 games.
  17. I don't think there are any absolutes. That said, the top 25 data over the last 5+ years suggests an elite pass offense, complimented by a solid running offense, is necessary to compete at the highest levels. In other words, you have to be fairly balanced, and be really excellent at throwing the ball. What Frost is trying to accomplish is a winning formula if he can get all the pieces performing.
  18. What's funny is Iowa's antics against Nebraska lead to a pretty motivated Wandale in that game.
  19. Your going to demote a guy to the bottom of the depth chart after his last game on the team??? Boy that will teach him lol. Some of these kids are protecting multi million dollar contracts by opting out of an exhibition that means literally nothing. Anyone judging them for that is it of touch imo.
  20. Not going to hot on all points but I have an opinion on a couple. I believe expanding the playoff will result in fewer opt outs. I think we will see very few opt outs on teams with a chance to win it all.
  21. 67 isn't that out of the ordinary, especially when the majority of them were complete non contributors. Have you been looking at other programs numbers or just pacing the forum waiting for opportunities to say the same things over and over. None of us are happy with the results. Some of us choose to take the situation for what it is and hope it comes together next year.
  22. Some of the takes...smh. Not even worth a rebuttal.
  23. Then what we have to look forward to???
