When you practice against a bad OL, it is hard to adjust to playing a great one.

Hey, were are not Iowa, or Wisconsin, or Minnesota. We are Illinois and we are battling to stay our of the basement. Our game with Illinois should be for a bronze toilet brush, but the loser has to take it home with them. That is who we are and have been for a while. Don't give me the "we are close" crap. The only thing that matters in the the word close is the second letter, "L", for loss. If HCSF hires well, fixes the little things, and builds a winning culture? Then maybe we can compete. The only thing we are close to right now is obscurity.

This is one of the reasons I don't hammer on AM as much. BUT, I am not saying he wouldn't have his issues of he was behind one of the best lines, but it is interesting to think about what could be without the trainwreck of an OL we have.

I think the whole decision is this and not necessarily in this order: -Trying to reduce the buyout -Trev has only been here a few months and he wants it known that he is in charge. (I think there are boosters who wanted HCSF fired.) Also I think he wants time to see if he can make a difference. -He is worried about a fractured fanbase. There are fans that believe he needs 5+ years.

I see the threads about new OC. I listened to part of the interview HCSF gave last week. I see stats of how close we are. I think through the week, I just feel that underwhelmed is how I feel about the whole situation. I want HCSF to win. I want him to be the guy. Do we really think it will turn? I want it to but, I heard he wants to go hunting I heard he is not arrogant, but doesn't listen to anyone, but maybe now Trev. My expectations for the future are very low. I am not expecting much effort in finding someone great. If he does? I am so sure we will have a Bob Diaco situation on O next year. (Not saying Diaco was great, he wasn't) I am expecting in-fighting and more issues. Just call me underwhelmed with Husker football. There is more excitement right now with Kansas football. Here we sit.... I was also underwhelmed with my post. I put a Frost type effort into it.

It looks like we need to start a vaccination mandate with deer. Also, for the love of all that is holy, deer and deer hunters need to mask up!!

I am not sure how this will go? Here are questions that maybe others have asked and answered. How long does the mandate go? Who determines when this pandemic is over? When does the virus switch over to common cold status?

This year we ran some wishbone, yes we really did, it is interesting what you can (could) do with it. Since you have so many hybrid guys these days, we can start in the bone, run it, and after they change the personnel, we shift out of it and start throwing. Works great at the HS level. Probably not as much in CFB.

Just run an offense that makes our kids tough and get freaking 2 yards when we need it. Of course that may be completely an OL problem. The softness of our O gets really old!

I don't think our football acumen is high enough to get us to 5-7 this year either.

When 3-9 is OK, what is really the expectation. We would rather lose with one of us, then take a chance on anyone else. I think Trev is smart enough to say to himself, I haven't really worked with this guy. I will give Trev a chance. Mostly because we have no choice. I do hope Scott gets it figured out. It is easier that way. The expectation for Scott from Husker nation will be 6-6 and a bowl game. We will see if he gets it done. I do agree, with that schedule. He should sleep walk and get 6. Improvement lies at 8. Close this year, means 8 next year.
