  1. his wife is here? do we know that? she seems like she could give two poops about where MR is and would probably like it if MR stayed here longer- JMHO
  2. right now the only thing solid about Nebraska football is the bowel movement Mike Riley and SE are taking these days
  3. I wasn't here then sorry- although from my point of view he wasn't coming anyway, but that was just my opinion so I could have been wrong, right?
  4. we are basically in agreement, as my original reply point has been divaricated by innocuous parsing of the OT
  5. you need to work for Riley as a recruiter
  6. That is a sales point but that only sells to the "right" kind of player ...usually NOT the ones from the hood, which is fine because they do sometimes have issues we don't want to deal with. however, in the past we've gotten a few to buy in- usually because of their mothers and the fact that USC-Florida St.-Alabama etc slow played or didn't have room for them
  7. Bo's exit meeting with the players tells us how Bo felt about SE and the extent that even 50% of it was true, you can see why a lot of folks think SE came in to fire him, period
  8. Bookie?? you really think he's still coming here? Even without this mess I think he was never coming here based on his actions
  9. ill weigh in here...look if you happen to live in a Florida or California like I do, only a certain kid would even consider a place like Lincoln a city. you need only to visit a high school that produces these kids to understand where they're coming from, yeah we'll get kids from those areas that grew up playing in privileged enclaves like Calabasas but very few from inner city programs like LB Poly also, if Scott Frost is so invested in Nebraska that he'd feel the need to come back to the rescue, why'd he go to Stanford first instead of Nebraska. (I'll answer that, it was a choice based on facts not emotions which is a good trait to have) Other than the aforementioned, Lincoln is a fine college town and we have seen a lot of excellent players in that stadium, its just in today's world few kids value a wholesome atmosphere
  10. sure its an opinion based on the "fact" that someone said they actually heard him say he wouldn't be interested, in a way that indicated a lot would have to change before he would consider coming here- I happen to believe those people who claimed he said those things- thats all BTW- a few things have changed- Perlman is gone, and looks like his lacky, Eichorst will be gone....people can and do change their minds given changing circumstances, hell he went to Stanford before he came here
  11. my post related to getting the ball to them in stride, catching it is another topic
  12. Lets get this one out there... lots has been said about SF as a possible candidate as our next head coach. Like the absurd notions that we could get Saban or anyone by just offering ridiculous amounts of money to them (money that could not really be approved by our administration or regents) we have a few problems with the notion of Scott Frost becoming our next head coach: 1. He's told people he would NEVER come back unless the culture changes- i.e. the administration- so at the minimum Eichost would need to go and a Nebraska guy would need to be in place- someone SF could trust 2. He needs time to succeed at CFlorida- 2-3 years 3. Central Florida is a big school in a recruiting dream-world, with lots of $$$ donors- let's not kid ourselves they will be a power as money+talent=success 4. Someone would need to really really sell him on the idea and that someone was treated like an old shoe last time he was involved in the program, so that someone isn't and wouldn't push the idea I don't see him as an option for the above reasons-they outweigh the fact that he came from and played for Nebraska
  13. Tanner doesn't throw a good deep ball, hell Tommy Armstrong generally hit an open post on stride. haven't seen many attempts over 30 yards and when I have, the receiver has to slow down or it drifts out of bounds- anyone else seeing this?
  14. the problem with that theory is the other theory that Perlman hired Eichorst specifically to get rid of Bo, and like Pedersen before him he had a very limited time to do that- in fact as you remember he wanted to do it the year before but some of the regents found out and put a stop to it- point is Bo could have taken the 2015 team that went 5-7 (6-7) and could have gone back to the BIG championship game-if someone other than Perlman/ Eichorst would have been in place and supportive of Bo and his players, recruiting would have been better, he could have paid for better coaches etc. Bo wouldn't tolerate or suffer fools, told people his true feelings, and had a temper on the sidelines which made him a meanie, so most fans got the vapors over that so here we are now........
  15. to quote a great talk show side kick, "hey now" I've been warned against using words like that
  16. is correlation the same as probability? because past performance does have a probability of predicting future results
  17. im sort of new- so I didn't really think of it, but can you do one now? also as far as people saying it depends on certain players being back I'd be interested to know what teams they'd think we'd beat having them back verses not ? I was pretty clear in the teams thought we'd beat before today- i.e Rutgers - Illinois -Northwestern right now I couldn't say we'd beat any of them let alone if we had Bryant back or Obrien / Gebba at QB so to those folks who "think" that'll make a difference in a certain game...which one(s)?
  18. of course they would but they'd be ignoring the facts again and in the end this will not end well- we could have a team of all american five stars from Calibassas and this will end the same
  19. it begins with Eichorst so no crow needed- optimism is fine but reality based on facts is the key
  20. I admit that in the beginning I had 6 last week I revised it to 5 this week? well at some point this will get easy, but since my game to game predictions are already posted and this game was a "win" in my 5-7 prediction, well I'm now going with a 4-8 season. BTW the odds are in my favor-
  21. LOL just being kind of a smart ass- like I said you actually made a lot of sense if you take all the emotion of the day away from the context
  22. actually other than pointing out some legitimate excuses which would sound kind of lame in the context of this meltdown....nothing, I was just wondering if you were in fact, drunk
  23. not to nitpick but you only addressed one of his multiple questions- do you in fact know your BAC?
  24. BTW we have Tommy Armstrong playing to his strengths and chances are we're 3-0
  25. but Mike has his guy- Statue QB's are what they want- is that so hard to comprehend? when in the past has Riley EVER had a duel threat QB or an offense that was designed around one? Answer: when Tommy A was playing and even then it took him a year to figure out a few schemes for his talent
