  1. Well said Mr. Sankey. Sad we have to speak to adults like they're children. A Pandemic is a real problem, that requires a real solution - not "It'll go away soon", and not "its a hoax". Other countries have figured this out, and lo and behold they have sports, they have school, they have flattened the curve. It's not political, there is no reason it should be controversial. It's a real problem, that requires a real solution.
  2. Your understanding of healthcare amazes me. I don’t mean that as a compliment.
  3. I know people will say, "I don't get it, it makes no sense, South Dakota St is one state away and Rutgers is halfway across the country." But to me it makes perfect sense. Conferences have singular leadership, they can work under unified guidelines. Don't have to worry about which school is calling the shots, and schools abiding by difference rules. If a season is to happen, this is how you do it.
  4. Fauci is researching in the UK when he's not installing filtration systems in Florida, discussing microchipping with Bill Gates, teaching potions class at Hogwarts, or participating in his favorite past time - drowning puppies.
  5. Pac 12 joining the B1G in conf only games. Rest I'm sure will follow.
  6. B1G's official statement said "If" we play football in 2020.....Texas and Florida both set highs in Covid deaths over the last 24 hours. To lessen the disappointment, I would just start assuming we wont see CFB until 2021.
  7. I'd guess 9 and they move the season back, or space out games more.
  8. I think we both have the same goal, we just disagree on how quickly we can get to 100% renewable. I see countries like Germany close down nuclear plants, put an emphasis on renewables - but still have to lean heavy on fossil fuels. Personally IF there is a gap to plug between renewables and powering the grid, I would like to see that done with Nuclear and not coal/gas/oil.
  9. https://www.wired.com/story/the-next-nuclear-plants-will-be-small-svelte-and-safer/ Small Module Reactors - Smaller, safer and quicker to get up and running - still think this is how the path to zero carbon emissions looks.
  10. Because everything I've read indicated it will take time to ramp up to 100% renewable energy. Realistically 20-30 years. And like I said before I would prefer not to be burning fossil fuels for 20-30 years if we can. Enter Nuclear.
  11. You're ignoring the fact we can't power ourselves on solar, wind and hydro alone. The logical step is to completely wean ourselves off fossil fuels first, then if we do get to a point we can power ourselves on solar, wind and hydro - then wean ourselves off nuclear.
  12. We're going to have to agree to disagree on safety, reactors are becomingsafer and safer - and I would rather deal with the problem of storing waste; then that of carbon emission. It's not that I'm choosing nuclear over renewables - we don't have that choice right now. We need to supplement renewables and I would much rather we do that with Nuclear over fossil fuels.
  13. I actually think in a lot of regards we need a combo of Biden and Bernies ideas. We were never going to power the US on renewables alone. Biden is open to Nuclear, we will need Nuclear to supplement renewables to become carbon free. Glad AOC left the door open on that one.
  14. Forgot to add, I have also seen him advocating for this new individualized filtration system that seems to be working for every other country. Much smaller units that fit around the face. Very effective.
  15. I heard he’s been working on the HVAC units in Florida, once he’s done there he can work on installations in upstate NY. Remember that’s a lot of filters for one man to install.
  16. South Korea has had less than 300 covid deaths, we've had 134,000 - both of our first cases of Covid were diagnosed the same day. The people refusing to wear masks and social distance act like they just want normalcy, but they're the ones hindering normalcy the most. The science is out there. The evidence is out there.
  17. Yeah Texas has their most Covid deaths ever yesterday and hospitalizations in Texas due to Covid up 6 fold since Memorial Day. That’s why masks are vital right now, we’re not gonna get rid of Covid but it’s silly to think we’re gonna play sports and return to normal with states recording record death and hospitalization numbers.
  18. I'm more than knowledgable on the resources it takes to run an ICU, let alone an ICU at capacity, let alone transitioning additional beds to ICU beds. 15% is nothing to scoff at, and I'm sure that number is elevated in hotspots. A sudden 15% uptick in ICU patients, let alone a 20%-30% uptick puts quite a bit of strain on system. I'm not advocating for a shutdown, just proving context. I'm not saying Florida is a lost cause, but definitely something to watch in regards to the return of sports. Notably NBA. If death rate in Florida continues to stay low, well that's pretty good sign, if it trends up with hospitalizations and cases - then that puts the NBA season in limbo as well as all sports.
  19. Baseball team beats team named after bland food, earns trip to city 45 minutes away.
  20. Off the floors and out of the ICUs now, moved to a management, post acute setting role, so can’t speak on it first hand. But all the studies I’ve read seem to show HCQ has a role early on and paired with the right drugs.
  21. Still is brother. Fauci has worked under 6 presidents, including Reagan and both Bushes. The only reason his expert advice is seen as political is because Trump disagrees with it. I assure you science isn't political, he's saying what every other countries top scientists are telling them. People don't like what he's saying because its inconvenient, it might affect their sports watching, their vacations, their summer plans. Much like a doctor would tell you to run and stop eating pizza if you came into his office fat as hell, Fauci is just telling the nation what needs to be done to be healthy.
  22. Hey now, you’re doing Ed dirty with that statement.
  23. This is what I see when I think of the Republican Party. Rich, White, Trust fund baby-man lecturing a Veteran, Purple Heart recipient, on what it means to be patriotic.
