I cheer for small market teams in NBA (Pacers) and MLB (Indians). Pacers never get superstars while the Lakers have 3 max contract guys. Indians entire payroll was less than one Dodgers pitcher. NFL I think my Packers finally gonna get one of these guys, and he signs to be the #3 or #4 receiver with the freaking Rams.

Do we need an LA Super Team in literally every sport? s#!ts getting annoying.

New Offensive Coordinator options?

Mullen's options would be too good, even if let go from UF. Mullen and Herman will give us a hard no. I even think a guy like Ruggiero is going to have better options on the table. I know people want a sure thing, but sure things aren't coming here under these circumstances. -

Mullen would be great. If we could pull LeFleur from the Packers or Urban from the Jags to be OC, those would be great too. College guys like Ryan Day or Malzahn would be great OC hires. -
Kohls really diluted the value of the "5-Star". 54 5-star kickers in the class of '22 and another like 100 4.5-Star Kickers. What's the qualification, be alive and have a leg attached to your body?

Helfrich is both an obvious choice, and would be absolutely deflating. I really hope we don't go that route. Dude had horrific offenses at Colorado and for the Bears. Please stay away from guys whose success stems from coaching in the Chip Kelly Oregon Machine. -
I think Daniels and CTB are locks to be drafted.

ST Efficiency: 21: 128th 20: 115th 19: 123rd 18: 109th It's been a problem for 4 years. If you aren't identifying and coaching up the "specialist" then you need to hire someone to do it. He can act like he's identified the problem but there is zero reason to believe him or anyone on the current staff can fix it.

Whats the difference? haha

The f#&%?

It's been tough to watch. We had Cam Mack hero ball, then Teddy Allen hero ball, now we're on to part 3. The most they've appeared to be a "Team" was when Teddy left last year. You are 100% right on ball hog/show boating. I hate Creighton but year in and out they have a team of guys willing to make the extra pass to get an open look, so much prettier than blackhole ball. They still have time to figure it out, but if year 3 continues to look like this, I will become very bearish on Hoiberg.

Another possibility, as I think we aren't getting a "hot name". https://gojacks.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/jason-eck/2217 Jacks are top 5 in scoring offense, top 10 in red zone offense. They just put 27 on the best scoring defense in FCS (North Dakota St) and beat NDSU twice in the last calendar year. He's an OL guy too, which would be ideal.

Oh I would prefer that too. The situation we are in shrinks the applicant pool considerably. I think they want someone that will bring in transfers, adjust the offense to maximize the personnel we will have - since an elite OC isn't walking through the door. Reasons for hope if it is Peetz, they have 6'1 235lb RB they ran 36 for 287 against Florida and 23 for 104 against Bama, seems like a recipe we could use with Mr. Yant. I think Peetz would make an offense where TEs, and the Betts/Mannings of the world would not only be on the field, but be a highlight of the offense. Peetz would be far from a sure thing, I agree with you there.

I have a feeling Peetz will be the OC. Not gonna try and convince you guys he is having a insanely good season this season. Been rough for LSU. He's taking lumps as a first time OC, and also being on a staff fired after 4-3 start probably has him in a weird place as well. LSU's oline has been pretty awful like ours, so OL hire would be important if we bring in Peetz. He comes from a strong coaching tree with McVey, Saban, Joe Brady. I think he will bring an aspect we have been missing, his big thing when he came to LSU was create an offense around the personnel and not the other way around. I think we have been deadset on forcing Frosts vision on the players we hav. Getting someone that can sit down with Frost - get to know the personnel - and develop something that will work for the guys we have in place. Certainly would be a high risk/high reward type hire - but next season is a gamble all the way around, might as well let it ride.
