  1. I looked at the tweet again, did anyone else think the reveal was tonight? It said come be a part of the reveal tonight….of course media and fans showed up for a reveal. So odd…
  2. Just about every team has done a Patriotic uniform. Some are really cool, some are so over the top they look ridiculous. Interested to see where we fall. I think if they go subtle, it could be really cool!
  3. Jesus that was six minutes I'll never get back. You can take an outlier outbreak in one community, and non-peer reviewed studies and 'prove' just about any point you want to make. And LOL at him treating 15 covid patients as a family medicine doc and thinking he's found the cure to covid. I work with ICU docs at one of the best research facilities in the world that have treated thousands of COVID patients in an ER or ICU setting (not covid patients sitting on an office examine table with mild symptoms) who would tell this dude is full of crap. But one vocal doc who is saying what you want to hear is better than thousands of docs telling you what you don't want to hear I guess.
  4. It seems to be pockets. Being in Omaha it doesn't shock me that the system I am in is over 90%. From your article. Among the nation's 50 largest hospitals, the percentage of unvaccinated health care workers appears to be even larger, about 1 in 3. Vaccination rates range from a high of 99% at Houston Methodist Hospital, which was the first in the nation to mandate the shots for its workers, to a low between 30% and 40% at some hospitals in Florida. For reference about 80% of Health Care workers get flu shot yearly. Even higher in hospitals. I don't see why the covid vaccine wouldn't reach similar highs.
  5. My healthcare facility staff is 90%+ vaccinated, no requirement or mandate. My wife and I are 30, me and RT her a nurse, most our friends are in healthcare and 99% of them are vaxxed. There are a few outliers that aren't, but they are definitely outliers.
  6. I'm imagining the looks I would have gotten if I would have thrown a fit when the team doctors and trainers told me I needed my knee scoped in college. And hell that was D3 a few years ago. Fact is at places like Nebraska team docs, trainers, nutritionists, strength coaches, position coaches, head coaches make decisions based on what's best for you and the team. The expectation is follow them or leave the team. Usually frowned upon to tell coaches what offense to run, nutritionists what foods to eat and team docs on how to treat and prevent injuries.
  7. Yep, as far as football goes, having a high vaccination rate is just the best way to ensure you play the most games. Simple as that. Less chance for spread, less rigorous testing protocols for those players. If you have a lower rate, that's fine. But as a coach you have to be okay with missing some players at certain points of the season, and maybe even be okay having to forfeit one. Coach Campbell and Coach Saban have both put their foot down and said they aren't gonna be okay with missing key guys and forfeiting games. Coaches like that don't tolerate guys missing games for things that could have been prevented. In those programs coming in out of shape won't be tolerated, missing games due to partying won't be tolerated, missing games due to academics won't be tolerated, and now, missing games because they declined a recommended shot won't be tolerated. They'll find someone willing to do what is asked of them for the sake of their teammates and the program.
  8. No clue. Just cracked me up, this guy is in this non-vital, off the field role, he quits, and twitter fans come in guns blazing "F THAT GUY"...Seemed odd but maybe I'm just out of the loop.
  9. I made the mistake of reading the twitter comments. Anyone know what Lambrecht did to get everyone to hate him? Everyone seemed happy he is moving on, seems odd considering he has no control over on-the-field results.
  10. If the players and recruits like them, I'm happy. Kids put in a lot of work, they deserve something fun they can get hyped about.
  11. It's unbelievable. A preacher and QB know very little about healthcare. You wouldn't go to a Social Worker to fix your plumbing. You wouldn't go to a firefighter to build a computer chip. I hope people know how idiotic they look when they act like they know something they obviously know nothing about.
  12. I think KU is lucrative. But we're not gonna add just 1 team. And there is no one to pair with them that is equally or more lucrative...
  13. Dang guys, I at least got an n95, face shield and gown that doubled as a sweat suit.
  14. I get it, more unvaccinated people in this country could definitely be seen as an issue. Just wanted to point out the hypocrisy of DeSantis by blaming Biden this year when the same rules were in place last year under Trump - and we didn't hear about the border at all.
  15. So according to your link, Biden kept the same rule in place adopted by Trump to limit immigration? So what's he blaming Biden for?
  16. Non-mRNA vaccines were used in the study referenced. Moderna & Pfizer have been effective against Lambda per studies using those vaccines.
  17. Thanks for posting. I have been saying it all along, it has to make financial sense to bring schools in. The people scared the B1G is gonna fall behind if the Pac12 adds the B12 leftovers are sorely mistaken. Neither the P12 or the B1G are going to dilute their current members money share just to bring in the likes of Oklahoma St and Iowa St. B1G probably has one move, add ND and KU (needs to be both). Well looks like ND doesn't want to lose independent status, and there is no elite football program to pair with KU - the move right now is sit on your hands. Warren gets a lot of much deserved flack, but refusing to add teams that will dilute the conference is the right move.
  18. I still think Gabe will be our top back this season. His HS film was very good, he does things that many college guys never even pick up. Vision, balance, acceleration, effort. And oh yeah, he's a capable pass catcher and blocker.
  19. This follow-up screams "Wait, nevermind".
  20. You shouldn’t be doing something just because a politician or the media says so. At the same time they can be an idiot and a hypocrite and be telling you the right thing. Idk why more people don’t utilize a local doctor they trust. A lot of folks go to a mechanic for car advice, a plumber to fix their pipes but go to Twitter for life altering health advice.
  21. Virginia has a cool dashboard. It lets you split numbers by vaccinated and unvaccinated. I was curious with how it looked with the delta variant and all the talk about vaccine effectiveness, so these are the numbers for July. Unvaccinated Cases: 12,784..........Vaccinated Cases: 303 Unvaccinated Hospitalizations: 413..........Vaccinated Hospitalizations: 17 Unvaccinated Deaths: 18..........Vaccinated Deaths: 1 Also keep in mind 45+ individuals in Virginia are vaxxed at a 70% rate.
  22. ^The goal and why vaccinations are important. Florida hospitals are now shutting down non-emergency surgeries so the beds are available for covid patients. This is where vaccines affect everyone. When hospitalizations are so high it can impact anyone needing medical care. We have a tool to decrease hospitalizations before they happen.
  23. I mean it does offer some protection so it’s better than nothing if you work around or live with someone immunocompromised. I work with these folks and the best things we can do are get the shot and don PPE when working with them.
  24. Just had a meeting with a doc I trust. He said the original variant a positive person would spread to 3 people, the delta variant a positive person will spread to 9 people. Expects a wild few weeks and then the virus will burn out, he thinks 95% of the population will have had covid or been vaccinated once the delta variant burns out. Vaccines are working, some breakthrough but those folks are handling it well. If you haven't been vaxxed expect to get Delta.
  25. Alternative Medicine grifters. One is from Omaha, yay! IDK what the solution is for the folks that listen to these a$$h@!es. They need a dose of reality by getting sick themselves or a close friend/relative. We're at 70% of people over 18 with at least 1 shot right now. If we get to 80% by this fall, with younger people getting it too we should be in good shape. Getting 80% of adults in the US to do something would be a pretty incredible feat. Unfortunately things like this have a ceiling.
