  1. 10 wins, with a bowl win, is the floor of success for me with this schedule as @jjhusker just said. I see some comments about setting up for year 3, and while the team should be better in year 3 versus year 2, the schedule gets harder again. This year Iowa and Wisconsin also have more difficult schedules than NU, plus both travel to Lincoln. In 2020 we trade Indiana and Maryland for Penn State and Rutgers, (net negative), while traveling to Iowa and Wisconsin. Come 2021 we probably lose 2AM and get Mich, MSU, OSU and OU.
  2. I hear ya. Good teams with depth will always have those issues. Since Martinez is the first up, I think barring injury he is the guy as long as he wants. After that we shall see like you said. I am liking what I am hearing from Mario on McCaffrey's early progress. A redshirt year makes him a sophomore if Adrian leaves after 2020.
  3. He can't go pro until after the 2020 season.
  4. Put an OU chip on that shoulder come 2021.
  5. Let's compare these arms and talk about how that affects what we all feel about rivalries.
  6. Not fumbling, blocking, being durable etc. You know, all the running back duties beyond just running.
  7. That's Washington. Doesn't look 190 to me.
  8. Bingo. I am not worried about offensive production in the slightest. We love Stan, but as I said in a previous post, get ready for his records to fall several times in the next decade. All my attention is on defense. If the line can hold up and allow us to stop the run, then this team will live up to the hype big time. I think they will even if the D struggles some just from scoring 40 per.
  9. He would have been fun to have in this offense. I was at that Miami game, loudest I've heard Memorial Stadium.
  10. Yep. Spielman was open for a big gain, if not a TD on that tipped pass. I sensed that was the swing to end it even in the first few minutes.
  11. Are you saying he didn't want to wait on being a backup or do they believe there are a couple OLB who want in?
  12. And some folks would argue just to hear themselves talk. I don't give a darn about OU, stop lumping me in with the rest in the thread. We're not all the same like you keep saying.
  13. I am a kool aid drinker and love college football. I love talking about it and how Nebraska is going 11-1. I don't feel the need to manufacture things that aren't there however. Just let it happen. You sound like the guy who created the heroes trophy...
  14. There is more than one way to end up rivals and you are listing decades of history. That can definitely create one despite inital results. If the time period is much shorter and mostly one sided then it doesn't have the same effect in my eyes. I like @Toe's analogy of defining it by a feeling. The only reason I feel any different about Iowa is I have good friends who are Iowa fans. Take that away and I don't feel any different about playing them versus NW, Minny or Wisconsin. I have respect for Iowa, but no hate. I am starting to hate Wisconsin and that's it in this conference, but I in no way consider them rivals.
  15. Exactly. Someone argued with me a few months back that Iowa wasn't a tough opponent. I reminded them of 1-5 since 2013 by a combined 227-126. "We've been down though". Yeah, because they've kicked our tails, that's why we've been down. Can't have it both ways. We're not rivals because we haven't been able to compete with them in 6 years. That's changing with this new regime however.
  16. @KingBlank is saying it won't be the same team as the 70s/80s/90s but it doesn't need to. This is a different time and Frost can still do his own thing and win conference titles. I'm with you, this is on the cusp of having Nebraska be GOOD again, if different. Personally I don't give a $%^& if it's the same as it's going to be fun regardless. If all the worry warts would lighten up and drink some kool aid it'd be a lot of fun for everyone!
  17. Technically you can chisel jabba the hut if you want.
  18. True, but that could be said about most teams....including Nebraska right now! Haha
  19. All things considered, they were a better team last year with Morgan. Finished 4-2 and destroyed Bucky. I know the defensive improvement is part of it but the team as a whole was better with him over Annexstad.

  21. Of course they don't have enough information. It's only educated, and some non educated, guesses for preseason predictions/polls/etc. We aren't in the locker room, we are just fans and can dream big all we want. It's about having fun and I am going to drink all the damn kool aid while it's available. You never know if it will be available again.
  22. I'm with ya, check my post history about Minnesota. That weekend sounds excellent, haven't done college and pro in same weekend before.
  23. That's looking at the brightside, mister.
  24. This is what it's about. It's disappointing that even the B1G has forgotten what made these things great and have started manufacturing corporate BS trophies. The only one I recognize is that chair for Nebraska in the current conference.
