Agreed! Nice list. They did miss the Husker win at Mizzou when the pass deflected off foot. Huskers go on to win a championship. That has to be a top 50 IMHO. Maybe I missed that in the list. Sheepdogmark

I was humored by the statement, "Peat still didn't decide to sign with NU until the night before signing day when he saw a Nebraska license plate while driving home. Peat had been praying for help, so he took it as a sign that he should be a Husker. He'll join the team this summer." I'm gonna have to get me a Husker license plate! That one act might lead to two more Peat's in our recruiting family. As well, we should all realize that how we represent our team via actions and words do/can impact our recruiting. I hope the "frenzy" crowd of "downers" are listening. SheepdogMark

I don't see the Bo hire as anything like a five year time frame ... maybe I don't know my university that well ... could be. I don't see TO hiring Bo with this short of a lease. I think he hired him with a commitment for as long as he needs ... unless he throws it away. SheepdogMark Yeah you are probably right. I think I let all the doom and gloom posters get in my head. Paxo, I understand. Watch the board posters and you will over time key in on the correct minds. I've found the 80/20 rule to be true here. Most "fans" are the "80%" who don't have a clue and move up and down with the latest of "any" and "all" "news" regardless of anything. The mods are very solid folks and I've found some quality people here who share info and insights with "reason". Take some time and sift through it all. Enjoy the board. I've had a blast in my few years here. Don't post much, but I read Huskerboard on a daily basis, although I try to post little as I rarely have much "info" and my "insight" is very limited and my opinion really doesn't matter on most things. Especially with our inability to recruit good passing QBs and WRs. I don't think anyone is thinking about a "pass happy offense", however, I'd like to point out that having the ability to do that at any given point is not a bad thing. In regards to the "inability to recruit good passing QB's and WR's, I'd like to point out a team like TT. They were able to create some dynamic passing QB's and WR's. It wasn't like they were attracting 4-5 star recruits that made those offenses go. Thus, when I think of the Huskers I have to think about the reality of our recruitment ... that you can't tell me you can't find "gems" out there that are 3-star type recruits in "others" eyes. Obviously, if we can't compete for the "top tier" of WR recruits, we have to be able to pick out the gems like TT and others have done and develop them. We have to get away from the idea that if you come to the Huskers at WR you will only block. That will always keep us a run oriented offense. Yes, WR will always need to block, but to minimize that position to that basic identity is to miss the mark of what offenses are now doing via the spread type offense. SheepdogMark

I concur with your comments on WR and those battles. You are "spot on"! For me, this staff will be judged in a few years by what they did in hiring coaches/recruiters to stimulate and develop this area of the program. SheepdogMark

It's all opinion. I had them rated 21-22-23 all season ... a few weeks I had them creeping up to 16-17. If I had made an issue of that rating I'm sure I would have been killed on this board by the "real" Husker fans. SheepdogMark

I'm with you on Frost. I get somewhat humored by the folks that say that Scott doesn't have enough experience. Look at who he has mixed with in his career thus far ... look at who he can recruit ... and my God, he is the WR coach on the team that played for the championship. Isn't that a statement? We know who this kid was as a player, we know his character, we know his heart bleeds RED. You would think one would do whatever they could to get him on the staff, not excuses why it can't work. From Scott's perspective, I would think he would take a lateral move, possible even a reduced role to get here ... knowing the opportunity down the road to coach at Nebraska ... atleast, that's how I would look at it if in the same position. Interesting second post ... your title was "Recruiting not going good". That would be my guess about the "troll" comment. The reality is we are "limping" into the final push on recruiting. I think it's pretty well understood we have a solid class thus far ... we just need to get to the train station with what we got and hopefully Bo & company can find a few diamonds in the rough ... cause what we did on the field certainly took us off the radar of most recruits that would consider us ... that's my opinion. I would add ... all the rumors our fan base feed on as well sure don't speak toward "consistency" in our coaching ranks. SheepdogMark

Error puts us in to bondage ... truth sets us free ... so might as well kill yourself or get a life if you are gonna follow gossip and let your emotions run your life. I guess the part I don't get about people now coming and saying they are joking or they thought they would add their thoughts or insight into rumors is ... You do realize you are fueling the fire ... giving additional blood to the sharks ... and to me, these rumors are so consistent day in and day out that if I were a recruit considering the Huskers I'd certainly hold off and if I was an opposing staff I'm sure they will use these rumors to their benefit. Now, I can't help our recruiting ...but as a fan I'm certainly not going to feed the rumors. If the shoe fits ... take this as a rebuke fellow Husker fan. As a former Pastor I've seen way too many issues with gossip and busy bodies ... Just take a chill pill on "giving your insight". My guess is ... you don't know jack ... just like me.
