  1. Oh Lord, please don't let this one turn into a "Texas Tech sucks, who can we steal thread"! SheepdogMark
  2. Very excited to see this video. Add in some heart, pass blocking, pickin' up blitzes, blocking when not catching ... all the intangibles ... and this kid will be a complete stud. I think my Huskers will take him their. Welcome aboard Q! SheepdogMark
  3. Nebraska sucks, who can we steal? That is probably the better heading. Just don't see how one can conclude that ... and, what does it say about us? Florida doesn't want any of our recruits and I don't see us taking anyone from them ... unless it's just by "chance". SheepdogMark
  4. The quote in post #7 says, "means the Fighting Irish have received $4 million in payments from the BCS over the last three years." Thus, I didn't take that as per year. The quotes goes on to state ND's record over the past three years being like 15-21. I would think if it was per year it would have said "over the past year" and then stated their record for that one year and not the three. In any event, I admire the tradition of ND ... it's just the Catholic thing that is the "root" for me ... but hey ... I'm just a Christian going to hell for putting my faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus and "ignoring His true church" ... ya right. I'll trust in the blood of Jesus over what some Pope (man) tells me anyday. That's religion for you thou right? SheepdogMark
  5. Nice Christmas morning read before presents. Thanks EZ-E! SheepdogMark
  6. Please don't tell me our offense and the future of the Husker program rest on those "throwbacks" used for one game against ummm ... a nobody. Good programs are good for other reasons ... right? Please tell me you don't believe this. SheepdogMark
  7. This is awesome news! Made my morning. This topic is officially dead and we move forward! SheepdogMark
  8. Maybe he didn't watch that championship game ... or maybe all those "hits" have finally taken their toll. Regardless, hope he voted his conscience and was educated ... cause I don't see this award with the kind of respect maybe others do ... for the obvious popular contest it has been over the years and it's "weight" toward QB's and RB's. SheepdogMark
  9. EZ-E, I'm not worried about MU recruiting at all. I'm glad the Gabbert saga is over. Aren't you. Ya, I was bumbed ... as any person or organization would. Your "word" is your "word". Example, Brian Kelly ... you wouldn't want to be a Cinci recruit in that pipe line ... and as a university ... you don't want recruits that "flop". I'm excited about our class this year! And, as it is looking on this board ... we might just close like a freight train. Regardless, we will have a good class ... and I'll take our coaching and "direction" to go along with "tradition" anyday. If MU can string together something of substance over a period of years ... then "kuddo's" to them. Currently, I'll take the "press" of the day from the likes of "SUH" and frodaddy and the likes can "jaja" all they want ... our glory years were full of talent in lots of places ... fact is ... we don't have to have the best WR core in the nation to win a championship. We've done just fine in the past and our future is bright. Overall ... I love Frodaddy's passion. You and I would love him if he was a Husker fan. I'm a MO boy who went to SMSU ... so I have always hated Mizzoo because they would never give my university any respect ... even though most of the time we have held our own against them. All the best to MU and their recruits ... you continue to provide this university for motivation to bring out the best in Husker Nation. SheepdogMark
  10. The OU game last year cost us Lynn. Hope we don't have any ugly ones this year. I also hope we can sell Mobley on playing DE. Danimal, as I was re-reading this string ... it made me think about Lynn. Wonder what they kid thought after the OU and now TX game. He's gotta look at our D and think ... wow ... look what I missed out on. He could of been in on the start of something really special. Not that OU won't be a sweet place. SheepdogMark
  11. Wish we would have sought this guy more ... especially with the Gabbert family ordeal already being a "past situation. Check out this nice story ... http://www.sj-r.com/prep/x931220122/Roches...mmits-to-Purdue Nice video on youtube on Sean losing a game 41-40 also ... Love this guys heart, character and determination. Kid is a great leader and wants to coach ... heart reminds me of Burkhead when I was following his recruiting. SheepdogMark
  12. College Football Live on ESPN has Turner Gill and Skip Holtz (Lou's son) as candidates for the Kansas opening. Personally, I'd love to see Gill running our offensive coordinator and help in recruiting the kind of talent at QB and WR we'd like. I also like the "tie" to the past. I know there will be posts as to how and why this can't/won't happen. SheepdogMark
  13. (AP) The Huskers and Head Coach Bo Pelini have announced this morning they have opened recruiting and auditions for the wide receiver position. Huskers.com posts the following position: Opening: Wide Receiver Duties: Get free from defenders and catch a thrown football. Must be able to evade defenders after the catch. Qualifications: Must run a sub 4.6 40-yard dash and be able to catch the ball. Must understand route running. Must have high school experience ... but regardless ... just try out and we will give you a look. Pay: Free school tuition, personal training and coaching. Apply: Online at Huskers.com ... or simple send an email to Bo Pelini. The Huskers have had no luck securing the top notch wide receivers desired during the 2010 recruiting cycle and this past week were informed by Curtis Carter, a 4-star recruit commit that he had no intention to suit up for the Huskers due to their offensive struggles this season. Husker fans are bewildered. One Husker fan, SheepdogMark, says, "What the hell don't these recruits see? I mean, holy hell ... look at the opportunity to come in and be the starting WR for the Huskers." Stay tuned for more. SheepdogMark
  14. IMHO, it's safe to say that the O-line will be better next year ... and it's also safe to say that the D-line will be a little weaker (unless we think someone can truly fill the Suh void) ... things go in cycles. SheepdogMark
  15. Don't believe Sasser has committed yet. It will be interesting to see what he thinks moving forward knowing we play Arizona and Curtis Carter has decommitted. Somewhere ... somehow ... a solid receiver has to see the future at Nebraska. SheepdogMark
  16. What a great highlight reel ... man ... I felt like I was at the game. Nice! Thanks for posting. Put that one on my FB page for all my friends and family. SheepdogMark
  17. I am with Knapplc ... please spare us all. SheepdogMark
  18. Knapplc, man, that board is a mess. The layout of the board and how it looks as people responds is like a "first generation" web board. Thanks for the link. SheepdogMark
  19. Notre Sucks will name Meyer, Stoops or Brian Kelly ... and lose no recruits to us. My guess is Brian Kelly gets the nod and the Irish still maintain a top 15 recruiting class. They won't skip a beat. SheepdogMark
  20. Any Husker fans stopping by Winstar World Casino's on the way to the game? It's on HWY 35 right inside Oklahoma on the OK/TX border. It's exit #1. Third largest casino in the US of A. Not an advertisement ... just wanted to let you know that if you come by the casino from 7 PM - 3 PM, stop in at one of the pits and ask where to find Mark Baker ... that's me. I'd love to put a face with a name from here on this board. So if you get by give me a shout out. I'll be dealing blackjack, 3-card, UTH, Bac or Pia Gow. Send me an email here at the board if you think you might want to stop by or have questions you might want help getting answers to. SheepdogMark
  21. I live now around the Dallas area. In some of my previous posts I've said, "This is my favorite recruit of the class", "I think Rex will be one of the best RB's ever at Nebraska", "Rex might rush for 1,000 yards his freshman season" ... Then Rex hurt his foot ... and the threads read ... "Oh my God ... his career is over ... he will never suit up again." Four or five games later he has a good game ... taking advantage of his circumstances ... ... and now he's a Heisman "hopeful". Wow, Husker fans amaze me ... but atleast others validate what my heart and eyes have seen ... we have a special player in Rex ... I'm excited for his future. SheepdogMark
  22. Man, well done finding that information! There'll be more of that when we take Texas down. This thread was way to positive ... thought I'd make it more realistic for the "critical" ... The Huskers would be 11-1, having the best regular season since 2006 ... if it had not given up a last second TD to the Hokies and of course, the 7-9 loss to Iowa State where the Huskers fumbled the ball away eight times, three within the 10 yard line of Iowa State. The margin of defeat in the one loss was 21 points (Texas Tech). And that is still less than our combined regular season margin of defeat was less was in 2000 when the two Husker losses combined for 18 points. Nebraska was 2-1 in play versus the South Division. The last time Nebraska finished .500 or higher against South foes was 2001 when Nebraska went 3-0 against Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and Baylor. Nebraska won all Big 12 Road games this season. The last time they won all Big 12 Road games was in 1997. The Huskers finished the season by winning their final 5 Big 12 games. The last time the Huskers won 5 straight conference games was in 2001. Point? Nebraska's headed in the right direction. Instead of bitching about our "anemic offense" or talking about who to fire from the staff, celebrate. The future is looking bright. Overall Point ... the Huskers could be playing the Big 12 Championship, upon which if victorious after knocking off an undefeated Texas team, might just have the opportunity to take on Florida for a National Championship. Now, for me, that isn't "bitching about our anemic offense" ... it's just frustration on what could have been so early in the "rebuilding project" an outcome I would have thought I could only dream of. I am certainly pleased ... and yet bummed about what this season could have been ... now looking back. SheepdogMark
  23. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tlxniAOX0M...feature=related Noticed that after all his hard work and expectation for the season that his David Douglas, his high school, is 2-4 this year ... most games have been pretty bad losses. Looks like O.O. could use some upper body work to really become a top notch DE. Does have some good quickness. SheepdogMark
  24. I'm with zoogies ... and our coach. The task is not our "ranking", not the Big 12 Championship ... ... we have Colorado coming up Friday. Who cares what we might be ranked for what ... 4-5-6 days? As fans, we must help our team focus by staying "in the moment". The Buffs have played most teams tough here down the stretch. And you know how those Buffs plays us ... and we go to their field. In my mind, we are underdogs in this one ... I'm gonna think about that in a short week ... not what I'm rated. SheepdogMark
  25. It would mean absolutely nothing! This is the kind of thread and thinking that is too far in the future. If you want to get a "vision" ... may it be of sacks and interceptions for Colorado ... ... that should be the topic and thought at hand. Stay in the present folks ... it will help the team to stay in the present ... and that is where we must be. SheepdogMark
