  1. Danimal, I noticed you used the word "run". Hmmm. Now, I know you wouldn't use the word "pass" ... but obviously, there ain't no "run" in this "O" now is there. I was thinking maybe we win 7-6 in this game. We have four interceptions and three lost fumbles. Those seven turnovers lead to two field goals for Baylor. Thankfully, Suh blocks a field and on a great pass deflection by him our defense returns that for a TD ... Henery is himself and Suh wins the day. As a twist of luck, Green sees the need/potential of the Huskers and not only commits, but starts on his own recruiting trail for some offensive line help. Well ... that's my storyline ... I'll stick to it and my pessimism. SheepdogMark
  2. The sound from the first 12 posts is that his career is over! Are you guys over-reacting a bit and/or from a recruiting standpoint should we consider Rex's career over? He's my favorite recruit from last year ... bummer. SheepdogMark
  3. Ya, the thought in my mind comes from the movie, "Remember the Titans" ... I can see Pete droppin the ball and ol' Boone grabin' him by the facemask and asking him, "Why did you drop the football". He answers, "my blockers didn't block sir". Boone replies, "did your blockers drop the ball or did you drop the ball. Pete doesn't have a response. Boone says, "How many feet are in a mile ... (louder and quickly follows with) ... HOW MANY FEET ARE IN A MILE? Boone says, "5,280 feets ... you run every one of them Pettie ... YOUR KILLIN ME PETE ... YOUR KILLIN ME!" It appears that Niles is saying, "My knee caused the fumble" ... and the coaches response should be ... "5,280 feet ... you run every one them Niles ... YOUR KILLIN ME!_ SheepdogMark
  4. Finally did some research on this guy today and was surprized to see he was a white guy. I guess with his name and his general "specs" I assumed he was black. Always humored when you conclude something that isn't true based off of things you read. Anyway, I watch this youtube video ... At the three minute mark he has a punt return that reminded me of Johnny Rodgers famous punt return and also the great touchdown Eric Crouch had against Mizzou I believe. Very well rounded football talent and after the nine minute video it seemed he finished off his touches well and his yards after the catch and yards after getting hit were good. Certainly would enjoy a character kid like this who is a talent with heart ... reminded me of Rex Burkhead when we were recruiting him and some of the video's I watched on Rex. SheepdogMark
  5. Welcome to the 2-win, 2-loss Huskers Curtis. Hope you can contribute ... and contribute early and often. Good luck! SheepdogMark
  6. Wish we could throw this guy into our 2-win, 3-loss Huskers. Surprized to see anyone commit to us this week so that is nice to see. SheepdogMark
  7. There's a show here in Dallas on the radio that features a guy named Randy Galloway. The guy drives me nuts on his "over-reaction Monday" as he then covers all the things they should have done. If the Cowboys win, it's still pretty pessimistic ... if they lose ... it's Cows Suck ... Cows Suck ... Cows Suck. The things that are said on this board by fans are many times understood, but the way they are said make me question the character of the fan for sure. For me ... I'm emotionally drained by three losses that remind me of the "lost years" of this program. For me ... this is my last post on this board about the Huskers. I am at a "meltdown" with my Huskers ... it's purplexing ... and the whole recruiting aspect of knowing these recruits are seeing this just kills me. The Husker surprzed me last year with a good end to the season ... maybe that will happen again. For me, I'll stay updated on recruiting ... but I won't be tuning in to the games or to this board about anymore games. I hope the Huskers aren't done ... as the post says ... but for me ... I am done. This hurts and I don't have the stomach! SheepdogMark
  8. From the sound of it ... looks like we are putting together another nice recruiting display. SheepdogMark
  9. Enjoyed the read ... thanks for taking the time to put your experience into words. SheepdogMark
  10. This weekend? Ouch ... it had to be for something other then the football then. SheepdogMark
  11. When does the apology letter go out to these recruits at the Texas Tech game and who sends it? Hello Trying to build a program here fellas ... not embarrass ourselves and set us back five years. SheepdogMark
  12. Signature win? This was to be a win ... you are at home, ranked 15th, against a team with a couple of losses and mediocre at best. THIS WAS A SIGNATURE LOSS! If I was a recruit ... hmmm ... I didn't like what I saw. Stick a fork in us ... the rest of this season is about building back a "base" ... cause we really set ouselves back in this one. Just couldn't believe how bad we sucked out there today. Embarrassing! SheepdogMark
  13. Packers? Come on now ... we want my Chefs to get em' ... and that's not a typo. Until the Chefs get a real team I will not call them the Chiefs! SheepdogMark
  14. Here's a couple of articles I found recently ... http://www.maxpreps.com/news/DCsJWa0FEd6OE...tement-game.htm http://www.desmoinesregister.com/article/2...19/prep_insider http://www.rs.af.mil/photos/mediagallery.a...=1&count=24 - Move your mouse over the picture of the QB in the fourth picture and you see Michael Hudson was the MVP in a big 44-14 win over Valley, both rated in state. Some articles and links here at ... http://iowapreps.rivals.com/content.asp?SI...&CID=985061 SheepdogMark
  15. I'm not Tebow hater here ... just wondering what he has done this year to merit the votes this year? You can point to Suh's impact in every game. SheepdogMark
  16. dont take this the wrong way junior, but you are naive... I wish it was the way you say it. And i am sure there are a fair share of his doubters that do for the reason that you stated above. But unfortunatly, there are still alot people out there who are the "R" word. Agree with Fro ... "there are still alot people out there who are the "R" word" ... and they are black ... unfortunately. America is about the right to succeed or fail ... you are not guaranteed anything in life or the USA. Here, you have the right to try ... that's it. Unfortunately, politically motivated folks are trying to make it so "success" is based on what "government" does for you. That's wrong! Success is what you do ... regardless of what roads or obstacles are before you. You don't spread the wealth or pass on taxes to those of us who already pay 40% while the non-producers pay nothing. I've lost promotions in every job I've had due to the company having to put "color" or "ethnicity" above character, hard work and productivity ... and that's wrong. I just lost a promotion at an indian casino I work at where the black guy is married to a girl in the indian tribe. Guess who got the job? It didn't matter who had accomplished more or produced more ... it came down to his relationship to the tribe and the color of his skin. So, "welcome to my life Yoast" ... that is life in America ... it works both ways. So what am I gonna do about it. Complain?! No, I'm gonna keep working hard and be all that I can be ... regardless of the outcome. Somewhere ... somehow ... the right spot and the right company will find me. One thing I do know ... I'm thru with being called a "racist" for being white and pursueing the American dream. If you want to talk about persecution ... look at the Jews ... they have been in slavery for about 4000 years ... and they don't provide excuses. I'm thru with this rank ... back to football ... where nothing is promised .... only the reward of knowing that after all your hard work ... you still might be 3rd on the depth chart and still lost a game 16-15 ... but that is what America is all about. SheepdogMark
  17. Well, then I apologize to the board and ask em to take it down. Not on here alot ... but enjoyed the read and wanted everyone to read it if they hadn't. SheepdogMark
  18. My experience with the Mizzou game, especially at Farrot Field ... is very scary! Tigers always play the Huskers tough ... especially when they didn't have talent. Look what they did to us with talent. They stole a QB from us in recruiting and now we go up against a solid QB. Leave the folks on the "fringe" out of this ... core Mizzou fans know they have a solid team and core Husker fans know we are on the rebound. Should be a good "barn burner" IMHO. Mizzou should be favored and win ... we can pull this one out ... and if we do ... I hope there is no celebration ... that will really show me what type of team we have. SheepdogMark
  19. This was a great read about the Husker fans and the atmosphere from a sportscaster on ESPN 1420. I found it entertaining and revealing. This has been my experience at Husker games growing up ... and when I've been able to make it to a few Mizzou games at Columbia. You'll enjoy the read ... http://www.espn1420.com/Default.aspx?tabid...mp;EntryID=6695 SheepdogMark
  20. I believe the game ended around 5:30 PM, your post was around 8 AM today, Tuesday ... so that puts your post and the one's before at about 2 1/2 days ... half way to 3 days. You've obviously moved on further than others ... good for you. It's not like it's late to post a thought on the game is it? My hope is that the team can answer it's own questions in their minds ... find the answers ... lay it to rest and move on ... but I understand fans still strugglin' with it. SheepdogMark
  21. I've been a Freeman fan ... I was bummed when we lost him. I think he has intangibles that could make him effective ... if he is given time to adjust and pick it up. He kinda reminds me of Justin Gage from Mizzou ... in that, he killed us (Huskers) and was a stud in college ... but could he be a good pro. Well, 3-4 years later and he has "picked up the game" and seems to be making an impact as a pro. It's obviously a lot tougher to do that at the QB position in the NFL. My hope is that Josh can do that ... given that time. Don't know if he will be given that chance ... but when I look at Aaron Rodgers ... I see a guy who was given a chance to let things sink in and learn from a "great". Matt Shaub was the same (now in Houston) and I'd say the same about Cassel developing under Brady. To me, it's not just Freeman's ability, or any QB for that matter ... but the time and input he gets in development. Isn't that really the same thing in the college game ... guys getting "red shirted" and given time to pick up the game at that level and transition? To me, seems like would be true for someone like Freeman or Russell. I agree with Daminal ... Oakland would have done better to trade down and see about getting him later ... if that was there guy. I'm not gonna be a Freeman hater though ... just because he switched to K-State. I think he could make a good pro QB, certainly exciting like McNabb is his better years. We will see. SheepdogMark
  22. My opinion is that the Big 12 is overrated after these first two weeks ... atleast in how I viewed or perceived us. Some of the better teams have had unexpected losses and the the bottom teams seem worse than I projected. The teams I like and follow ... Huskers, Mizzou and Kansas ... have all had some wins ... but against who? So two weeks in ... I feel the conference is overrated ... at this point. I don't really care what ESPN thinks at this point ... this will all shake out in the end. I think it helps us if the league is stronger ... so these losses have really put a damper on a pretty good start for us. Well find out how good we are against VT for sure ... then we will see how we respond ... either after a win or possible a loss ... I'm lookin' forward to seeing that team finish out the season and face the likes of OU, then Mizzou and see if we make it to the conference championship. SheepdogMark
  23. Didn't Toledo get blown out by Purdue last week? Gave up over 200 yards rushing to Purdue, but I guess that stable of CU running backs is finding the going a little tougher. It's a shame CU is in the same conference because I'd expect a number of transfers and conference rules stipulate a 2 year layoff for intra-conference transfer. Not that I'd be interested in anyone from their secondary. Oh BTW, Okie State has already stolen the first guy: Why doesn't it surprize me that Oklahoma State gets this decommit. Those guys are having an amazing recruiting year. Even as we improve we might still be the fourth best school in the whole Big 12 ... and actually maybe the 5th or 6th best team if you want to throw Mizzou or Kansas in there. Pretty amazing how far these other schools have come. SheepdogMark
  24. Don't have a problem with being on a losing team ... just getting out some info on the guy that didn't see posted. Always love more "facts" on guys then "opinions". SheepdogMark
