  1. Many thought Ajay Allen was well on his way to becoming the starter last year before his injury. If he can return healthy this year and it is Grant who is "Mr. Irrelevant" I think the writing is on the wall.
  2. Especially after Byron Bennett’s missed FG with 1 second left in the 1994 Orange Bowl that cost us a National Championship the prior year. That ranked right up there with the 1984 OB loss on the missed 2 pt. conversion. Two gut punches that still are painful. But the '94, '95 & '97 seasons sure made a lot of that pain go away.
  3. I'm expecting a 4-8 or 5-7 season next year with an 0-2 start. Just too much new and areas of concern up front on both sides of the ball.
  4. Some of the pioneers of modern Husker football. Freeman White Harry Wilson - Hell of a run. And again.
  5. I'm glad to see this happen. Having coexisting different collectives never made much sense to me.
  6. And in spite of having absolutely no support from both the chancellor and AD who were in fact conspiring against him.
  7. I hope they don't try to push him to come back too soon. I'd rather have him healthy going into next season.
  8. From reading various boards, apparently a lot of Husker fans. Or at least ones that frequent these forums. The negative comments and feelings seem to outweigh the positive.
  9. Incoming OL/DL Jason Maciejczak from Pierre SD. Link to 2022 NFL Combine Results for reference.
  10. If this is true let's hope the rest of the team can make those kind of gains with our new S&C staff before next season.
  11. Didn't bother with that dribble but Rhule & attorneys freely negotiated and signed the contract with DONU. They didn't sign it under duress. And now it's somehow NU's fault he is suing the Panthers? What a crock of sh$t.
  12. Agreed. Not something you want to listen to if the kids are around. Unfortunate since it isn't at all necessary. Puts then in lower class of podcast in my book.
  13. Matt Rhule Doesn’t Anticipate Nebraska Rebuild Being A ‘Slow Burn’
  14. No water breaks are good old fashioned football. All during HS water breaks were strictly forbidden during practice. Being in hot, humid KY made things even worse. After the practice it was a race to the drinking fountain inside the school. Being an OL I was always bringing up the rear so the queue was long and it was another 10-15 minute wait to get a drink. It was normal to loose 5-8 pounds in a 2-2.5 hour practice. Thankfully things have changed.
  15. I only had the privilege of seeing Frost in person one time. Sept. 21, 1996 - Sun Devil Stadium - Tempe, AZ Enough said.
  16. Arik visited NU Saturday. A decision will be coming soon.
  17. It just reminded me of one of the the kids that visited late last year. I can't remember the details, from AZ maybe, but when he was offered everybody was like WTF. The recruiting experts quickly chimed in that the offer was definitely not commitable and it was extended as favor to get the kid on the radar.
  18. I wonder if this is commitable offer or a way to get one of Wager's former players ranked and some attention.
  19. I didn't think that is how the portal worked. Just because you don't get any takers or change your mind you can't automatically return to the team. Once in the portal you relinquish your scholly and the team is under no obligation to take you back. So if he is returning this would have had to have been worked out with Rhule's blessing. And if that is the case I'm pretty sure Rhule wants him on the team and not leave again in May. This is good addition IMHO. He made a contribution last year before leaving and I think only played in 4 games so it should be his redshirt season. Whatever problem he and his family had with Joseph that caused him to leave in the first place must been personal and not extended to the program in general.
  20. Well, that didn't last long. Makes my prediction of no bowl again in 2023 seem a lot more likely.
