  1. Grieving and remembering is great if it makes you feel better, but as with "thoughts and prayers" won't prevent future tragedies, which is what this thread is about. Finding solutions to a problem that most Republicans are unwilling to solve. Oh, and that's pretty bold of you...stating none of "us" have "mental illness." You know that, how?
  2. Exactly. To prevent overkilling, because ducks tend to be found in large groups. Kind of like classrooms of school children and movie theaters, concerts, ....... Heck, the assault weapons bill from the Clinton administration limited magazine capacity to 10 rounds and all the "gun freaks" were pissed about that.
  3. “We need to look into mental health “ in regards to gun violence is not only a cop-out, but IMO a pretty stupid thing to say unless you have tangible solutions to offer. Guess what? Mental health is a problem everywhere. Not just the USA. Everyone on this planet with a mental health issue isn’t racing to the nearest gun shop so they can go shoot up the local school or shopping mall. I wish people would stop skirting around the real issue here. Why do we have exponentially more mass shootings than anywhere else? Gee, do you think our country’s s#!t for brains infatuation with guns might have something to do with it? Stop playing the “mental health “ card unless you can give some realistic and specific methods of addressing it that will prevent school children from being murdered. It’s bad people having easy access to the guns designed specifically for efficiently killing people!! That’s the damn problem!!!
  4. What a difference a season makes. In 2021 we were hoping we could keep Bolt for a while. Fast forward to present and they just finished arguably the most disappointing season across all NU sports.
  5. It’s reality though. Might as well embrace it. And I’m pretty sure it’s happening anywhere in the world where social media exists.
  6. Other than voting when the time comes, what else could the average person reasonably do? Spread the word, hence the cartoons, memes and blame posting. I think it’s just how people vent frustrations and communicate nowadays.
  7. This x1000. I’ve yet to hear a good reason that any civilian “needs “ one of these.
  8. Anyone who always votes Republican has some of the blood shed in these horrendous acts of violence on their hands. It’s the way I see it, anyway. These things are largely preventable, but most R’s will never acknowledge that. It really just comes down to how politically f#&%ed in the head we are as a society.
  9. We, in the USA, have proven time after time that we are the most dumb a$$ country in the world when it comes to guns.
  10. No offense, but none of this makes any sense. Background checks do matter, but they’re just a part of what needs to be done. There’s many other things that need to be done, but currently are not. I don’t know your friends, but R’s clearly outnumber D’s on gun control resistance and it’s not even close. Guns aren’t going away. It’s unfortunate, but just not realistic.
  11. I feel like with all of this attention and NU sucking as of late, he's going somewhere other than NU. If that happens, would it be disappointing because he's really good or disappointing because he's as good as 200 other guys, but he's in our backyard? In other words, if we miss on him but get one of those 200 other equal talents, then is it not a big deal? This is how I tend to approach recruiting nowadays.
  12. Going from being a big factor in shutting them down on their home turf to joining them. Crazy how things work sometimes. I hope it works out well for her. Not gonna lie, I’m a bit disappointed that it’s Texas she’s going to.
  13. Well, Iowa’s certainly retuning some dudes on D. Going to be tough scoring on them once again. Terrific.
  14. Wow. Pretty much in the same boat. Except with all their 4and 5 stars, they’ve beaten us in the Underachiever Bowl.
  15. Not surprising considering our chronic lack of talent development. It’s even more embarrassing that we had supposedly out-recruited 7-8 of those schools ahead of us.
  16. Indeed. Props to Coach Cook for sharing his experiences.
  17. https://www.si.com/college/nebraska/volleyball/john-cook-knows-darkness-hes-located-the-light Everyone should read this. Excellent article and important topic.
  18. Rutgers would not be a step up from Nebraska.
  19. Impressive. But, I wonder how many even know. Or care.
  20. Considering where FB and MBB are now, this doesn’t look too bad. Otherwise this is pretty disappointing—mainly because last year gave us hope. Volleyball season can’t get here fast enough.
  21. The format sucked and a lot of guys didn’t play, but it didn’t look anything like a B1G West favorite to me. What stood out to me was some OL getting owned by a defense not historically great at pass rush. I’m not quite sure what to make of it, but it was concerning. Also, inconsistent punts and place kicks. Maybe it was the wind. Basically after watching, I regurgitated all my koolaid and am now back to “ I’ll believe it when I see it” mode for 2022.
  22. TA said they considered grass, but it was much more expensive considering maintenance, etc.
  23. Even our home runs aren’t home runs.
  24. NU is at best the 3rd best baseball team in Nebraska right now. Good thing Creighton and UNO don’t have football programs.
