  1. Pretty clear his passion is at QB, not WR. And he may not had his whole heart into it hear. I wish him success.
  2. With Frost, we were excited because his last year at UCF he had a perfect record. But very few of us were concerned and ignored his transition from a Group of Five team to a Big 10 one. Personally if the rumors are true, alcoholism and his domestic situation may had played a big factor in his demise. And he may had lacked a Big 10 mentality in coaching and recruiting. If it is true he was drunk the night before the NW, he may had already given up. Rhule at first I felt like a lot of other fans where he was not my first choice. But after hearing is approach about being the best and the toughest in the trenches, in addition to relentless recruiting, I changed my grade me from a B- to an A. I feel like he is much better prepared for the Big 10 than Frost. I think in the worst case scenario, his win and loss records will be similar to teams like Iowa or Pelini’s. But I could be wrong and he flops like Frost, Riley and Callahan.
  3. I’m thinking they will find walk ons for the FB spot.
  4. Unless Rhule wants to take two and Chubba and Luke transfer out and Haarberg is moved to another position, leaving just Torres. Not sure what Haarberg weighs. I was thinking him as an athletic TE. But who knows.
  5. I take it he is not a speed burner, but a reliable receiver with good moves. Apparently his longest pass play was 32 yards. So perhaps more of a possession receiver?
  6. Goes to show you that Prime is not just looking at stars. If Rhule really wants him, hopefully he stays here. It may depend on Dylan Riola though.
  7. I have nothing against Fickell, but it would give me great pleasure in out-recruiting Wisconsin. Colorado, too, even though I have no issue with Prime.
  8. Heights often seem to be inflated. Rarely the other way around.
  9. It wouldn’t surprise me if Deion reaches out.
  10. He will get his opportunities trying to cover Coleman. If he can hold his own against him, he should be pretty decent. If Coleman is as good as billed, that will be a huge challenge for Nation and any other DB. But with Turner’s speed, there’s another possible handful. Hopefully the reps will make everyone better. Development. Development. Development.
  11. He has entered the transfer portal. I wonder who would be interested. Great athlete. Was he poorly coached at Nebraska or he didn’t practice hard enough?
  12. I see a very energetic and enthusiastic young coach who can relate well with high school players because of his age. He might become a very good recruiter who will be seen as a big brother figure. That’s looking on the bright side. Hopefully that is what Nebraska is getting.
  13. I agree those two will be the favorites to start. There appears to be a big drop off below then, unless Torres shows something in the spring. Haarberg perhaps should be moved to tight end. He is a very good athlete with decent speed. Purity may not have the confidence to be a good QB. Smothers doesn’t seem to be a good fit.
  14. Deion definitely has more flash. But Rhule is a very good public speaker. I wouldn’t call him boring. Tom Osborne was boring. Frank Solich was boring. So was Frost. But compared to Prime, I get what you are saying.
  15. I like this hire more and more. I knew he was a builder, but he also is showing to be very good recruiter and has a very aggressive recruiting staff.
  16. My main interest is Rhule finding great local talent and keeping it here and developing it. He could have done even better if players such as Flores weren’t ignored by the previous staff.
  17. He had one good season in Division II — his second transfer. But at NC he was no better. The kid thought he was hot stuff and must not had think he needed to be developed. He made it to arena and indoor professional football. If he had a head on his shoulder he may had been much better.
  18. Cooper said Rhule has hired the best recruiting staff. Time will tell. Hopefully it’s shown more on the playing field versus recruiting rankings where they may not always be rated that high depending on how many unknown talent signs.
  19. Harrison Beck. I remember his first snap with the Huskers he fell on his a$$. Addition: He made a bizarre video three years where he was throwing the football and was talking about vaping. I don’t know if he was off his rockers or just high.
  20. Maybe Rhule considers moving Haarberg to another position? He’s a great athlete if not a good QB.
  21. I didn’t know any of this. Fickell could run into the same problem. I think Luke will have respectable seasons at Wiscy, but I wonder if they will again come up short because of missing some top-end talent. So then will Nebraska without those restrictions with an energetic go-getting recruiting staff out-do them? No one knows of course. Only time will tell. But with that potential frustration, I wonder the minute the OSU’s job opens up if Fickell jumps at it if offered.
  22. I imagine TO is encouraged by this hire with Rhule emphasizing in-state recruiting and concentrating on being the toughest in the trenches. TO use to recruit a lot instate players who where successful for N, especially OLs. The Huskers had their share of instate all-Americans, some who where walk-ons.
  23. I know it’s still somewhat early and I don’t know if Wisconsin had a scholarship limit or not for only having 14 HC signees, but with that said did Rhule achieve better results in recruiting overall. It seems Wiscy’s highlight is getting that QB transfer from Oklahoma. I am a bias fan for sure, and I acknowledge that. So am I wrong that so far Rhule is showing he is a better recruiter than Fickell? Or is it that Rhule’s staff as a whole is better? — Bias Husker fan
