  1. Agreed. He's young and could be here a very long time. Establishing a destination culture by being here a long time, and having success, is huge. He would not be a guy that would go elsewhere to coach. The parallels to Osborne could be there; Tom started off much better obviously, he couldn't win big games. Scott's teams are laying eggs against teams they should beat handily. I would love to see a turnaround. I still have his coach announcement video from four years ago favorited. We just need to see results. He continue to talk about the players needing to see good things happen. Well, a lot of good happened in the 52-7 win. Now build from it. No excuses. No hiding. Seize it now.
  2. OLine looks better against a Division 2 pass rush, and receivers look more assertive in routes against that coverage talent. Here’s hoping to momentum carries into the 2nd half and has them thinking less and playing on instinct more for games moving forward.
  3. Fordham having too much success against our Defense, and we have little run game. It’s refreshing to see Nebraska ahead. But Fordham is having more success than I wanted to see.
  4. 2020 and 2021 results show us it’s actually a stretch goal at this point.
  5. We need more alignment between the 1st and 2nd shift coaching staffs
  6. The emboldened could be cut and pasted coming up on 20 times in just over 3 years of Frost's tenure. Just reading the bold, you could get a dozen different answers on what game or year this is referencing. That's called a pattern, and it's a reflection of extremely poor leadership. You have your players now, your system, your rhythm, and get beaten up by one of the worst teams in the conference led by a 1st year HC and a 2nd string QB. The video of the Illinois kids jumping in water, dancing around laughing, looking very loose - Brett B. instilled in them an attitude they knew they were going to win that game. Can't say this happens from the leaders on the other sideline.
  7. Firstly, all I heard years 1 and 2 about NU is not Frost's guys, new HC and new system, as we kept losing. But for Illinois this is also something against NU's potential for success? "Against a new HC." Great, also not Brett's guys...go smash them. Secondly, I saw some good things from the D. Here's the challenge with rightly giving them credit (vs. overstating or understating efficacy): The first half ended poorly. The worst way it could have. The D had played pretty well and the offense blew some chances. You go into halftime and get some rest, get mad, get motivated, plan for some adjustments from what you have seen with Illinois' Offense. You know you need a stop for the 1st possession of the 2nd half; Your O is struggling and you need to regain game momentum. What happens: Illinois marches down the field with a 2nd string QB and a won't-sniff-all-BIG-honorable-mention stable of backs and scores a TD. Easily. The D wouldn't have been overly tired. They just came out of half renewed...and couldn't get a stop at the most critical time. Against that offense. That's my issue.
  8. The above is a fractional reason he will not remain employed.
  9. Was this the morning staff or the ones that come in after lunch?
  10. I don’t think Scott knows what he’s doing at all. Good coaches can adjust mid game with efficacy. The best coaches couple that with a memory like an elephant. They recall specific moments in games from years ago. Scott never can. He can’t adjust for unknowns or unscripted schemes. We’re all speculative here. But the results speak for themselves. A terrible on field product that looks like it’s regressing with Scott having an entire roster of his guys.
  11. The more I think about it, a slim-margined win masks the core of the issues. We have won a few times in Frost's tenure, but when has it looked like that momentum has fixed core, root issues? I think there are things going on with Frost and the staff behind the scenes. Murmurings about them showing up at noon. Comments about being stymied by Illinois' sets. The lack of player development, the mistakes, the same presser commentary over and over and over. I'm not convinced it can be turned around with this staff.
  12. Ouch. And consistent with the lack of urgency I've heard. Noon start times. Pathetic staff.
  13. The coaching knock is not the call here. The coaching knock is they will roll with Adrian next week, who is bad, and have not developed him or a successor worthy to take his spot. That's all coaching.
  14. They did. After the break NU had three timeouts remaining. Adrian playing way down happens too often, and this is where he looks more care-free and gets a lot of his cream puff stats.
  15. If I had a nickel for every time a Nebraska fan said or thought "throw it" when Adrian was in the pocket, and he still had the ball, I'd have retired before Pre-K school.
  16. Mr. Martinez, you’ve raised a wonderful son. If this were CharacterBoard.com we’d be raving. I hope to see him encouraging the future of this position from the sidelines.
  17. If by turd you mean an objectively accurate take on a QB I've seen regress for four years and kill this team? Sure.
  18. Go back and watch the game. If your first sentence is still your AM posture, we can't help you. Numerous times the pocket held for 3+ seconds; he cannot make quick decisions or consistently accurate throws. He's very very poor at this level.
  19. They don't perform in any facet of the game, Offense, Defense, ST, when it truly matters. Adrians cream puff stats last year didn't yield any material value. Ftost keeps mentioning the team needs to see good things happen. What would you call beating Penn State last year? Then how did they follow it up? The D on Saturday needed a stop out of halftime. They folded. A terrible team with a backup QB marched right down the field on them. They had time to rest, time to adjust, time to motivate. The team is awful and reflects the staff. I feel bad for some of the kids as they do have talent, they're just led and motivated by overmatched coaches riding a terrible QB.
  20. Not the. A. He is a problem.
  21. That our hype video teams resemble the phrase - lipstick on a pig; but that performance would be insulting to a pig. The team is playing not to lose, are mimicking the panic of the head coach, aren't prepared or coached well across any position, and immediately believe in losing ways the moments adversity hit. Also, I've never seen a more stagnate/regressed athlete over four years as AM.
