  1. The large money contracts are what has driven me away from Professional sports as a whole. The only positive in the MLB vs the NBA and especially the NFL is the huge difference in total number of felonies committed by MLB players vs the other two sports. Regardless, when will enough be enough? Link
  2. Last year, from the start, we couldn't close out or stop middle inning scoring. This team, to be as sound as we hope it to be, will need better middle relief pitching. Starters this weekend likely won't got past 75 pitches so the games should be won by the bullpens. If our middle relief has improved from last year we should have a good shot at winning 2 games. If our middle relief is as porous as it was last year we'll struggle all weekend. Gotta get outs from the mids!!
  3. Marriott won't be Baylor's friday guy as the season progresses but is likely who Nebraska will face.. Look for the redshirt freshman (forget his name) coming of surgery to challenge for that spot. Baylor is picked near the bottom in the conference so of the 3 games this weekend Baylor is one I expect us to win. The other 2... if we split I'm do the dance.
  4. 3 huge games, hoping for 2 (3's a dream) won't be surprised with only 1 Baylor is kind of an unknown. According to the media in Waco they are two deep across the board. Mound is solid but untested with loads of lefty's. They struggled some in 2023 so expect them to play hard here. Tech is a ranked opponent (#21).. loaded and lefty loaded on the mound. Two of the three starters are back including their Friday night starter. They'll bring the long ball. OU is OU.. pitching, situational hitting and running.. Friday starter will be new. Lost their biggest bat also. Here's hoping for at least 2 wins!! GBR
  5. At least I'm intelligent enough to know I'm an idiot Homer Simpson ftw!!!
  6. The pac 12 was bankrupt, I think it's safe to "assume" Oregon, with their sugar daddy, was the only school not in the red and honestly, those schools haven't any idea what is in store for them in the B1G!!
  7. As Sad as It Is but the Truth sometimes hurts and the 2024 election is nothing but pain.... I'm not the most intelligent person and maybe that's why this made me almost spit my dew out this morning...
  8. The B1G scheduling is just pure crap.. How can Iowa not play either Indiana or Maryland though they do have Michigan at home.. Still, such a soft B1G schedule. Indiana on the other hand is a solid schedule as is Nebraska's. Makes no sense how unbalanced B1G schedules are. Really is disgusting to say the least. Schedule Comparisons: (Iowa's is crap in the order of difficulty when compared to Indiana & Nebraska)
  9. Iowa for sure is the favorite. Loads of depth on the mound. However, they lost their best DH in years when Anthony's season ended. They also lose their 1st baseman who along with Anthony were the offensive leaders. Their strength is their defense. They return their Friday & Saturday starters and though they lost their best setup/bullpen pitcher they shouldn't be short on talent. One set back might be the loss of their catcher. (that's always unpredictable) Still, the schedule sets them up to have the best record in the conference (crap midweek schedule) but they have some huge conference games on the road (at Purdue/Ohio St/Nebraska). They are the favorite but likely "only" because they don't face either Indiana or Maryland until tourney play. Personally I see them as a paper tiger early but if that bullpen is as good as advertised they might push out 40+ wins. Indiana is less predictable as the talent on that roster is on the offensive side and weather can play a huge part in that. Their ACE is out for the 2024 season with injury, their top hitter/middle infielder is gone (drafted) and their next best bat/center fielder transferred. They had a huge recruiting year 2 years ago so the talent exists, it's just unproven. They'll either win 35+ or struggle to win 30.
  10. Article Link: Very Good Read into what the Huskers 2024 season looks like.
  11. Nebraska is more loaded in the arms this year with a higher variety of middle relief setup pitchers. Still need a proven closer but they have a couple arms capable of that. I think the power numbers will be equal to last year though they did lose 2 huge bats so maybe more base stealing this year. Defense should be strong though. Also we have an unproven infield might take a bit to work through. The non-conference schedule is going to be very challenging. I expect we'll come out of it 2 or 3 games above .500 but I think that schedule, coupled with a conference schedule that should set up for a shot at hosting a regional. To expect to have a shot at a super would mean going 5 or 6 games above .500 in the non-conference and that is a bit too much. New 1st base coach that while at WSU he was aggressive on the bases, we'll see soon enough if Bolt gives him the reigns to run. (Bolt, of the past, liked the hitters/long ball to advance) Expect to see more off speed stuff coming from the mound. Childress is known as a slider/change up coaching guru. He sets the out pitch up well with heat and location. I expect minimally a second place finish in the conference. Iowa and Indiana (esp Indiana) have loaded teams. Maryland, though they lost a HUGE arm from last year will returns 2 of their 3 starters. B1G conference baseball is better than outside perceptions and honestly, I expect the B1G to put 5-6 teams in the post season. (Nebraska/Iowa/Indiana/Maryland/Rutgers/Ohio St).
  12. Nissan Hard Body Truck. 208K, sold it to a co-worker who gave it to his son. I saw the son 2 years later (approximately) and asked him if he was still driving the truck, he said 220K and still going strong. On a side note: When I sold it there wasn't a speck of rust on it. Hard Body Truck
  13. Umm.. I do think BTN has a say too.. They do carry the games after all.
  14. Ha, so in my boredom I looked back at Solich's final season here. Funny how that team played 2 common opponents (Colorado & Michigan St.) and one other B1G 10 team (Penn State) off the 2023 schedule. Then the husker's went 3-0 against those 3, last year.. well, 0-2 but we all know Penn St would have owned us. My how times changed.

  15. for Heaven's sake, look at the actual released video's of what you call and insurrection on J6... The only severe crime done on that day was by a DC police officer and the fbi plants. It's a travesty that so many people are unjustly being criminalized. So tired of both sides that spout opinions while ignoring facts of which, the DC J6 event was then and is still far less costly to actual vandalism then any one of the multitudes of protests that occurred for real crimes. Yet we constantly here from both sides how terrorized our Politian's were. It takes less than 15 mins of research to see just how peaceful the J6 protest was. (the security was literally escorting people around showing them the building, scary right?) Please do this country a favor and put it away. Politian's are liars regardless of what side they're on. They speak, they lie!! Most of the national media too. Fox = liars, MSNBC = liars, CNN/ABC Nightly/CBS Corespondence/etc etc... - all liars, all the time. Push an agenda and lie lie lie. Journalism died when journalist's were not permitted to provide source links in their articles. (source links that can be fact checked) Now I've been suckered into spotting off.. hate that but J6 pisses me off. Below is the costliest civil disorders. Notice J6 isn't listed. Hmmm.... wonder why? Because the media & politian's are liars!!! Rant Over!! Fact: Costliest U.S. civil disorders Includes riots and civil disorders causing insured losses to the insurance industry Dates Location Dollars 2020 dollars May 26-June 8, 2020 20 states across U.S. $1-2b $1-2b Apr. 29-May 4, 1992 Los Angeles, CA 775m 1.42b Aug. 11-17, 1965 Los Angeles, CA 44m 357m Jul. 23, 1967 Detroit, MI 42m 322m May 17-19, 1980 Miami, Fl 65m 204m Apr. 4-9, 1968 Washington, DC 24m 179m Jul. 13-14, 1977 New York, NY 28m 118m Jul. 12. 1967 Newark, NJ 15m 115m Apr. 6-9, 1968 Baltimore, MD 14m 104m Apr. 4-11, 1968 Chicago, IL 13m 97m

  17. At this point and the horrendous play we've witnessed over the last 5 years it won't surprise me when Dylan returns home and confirms he's fully committed to Georgia and honestly, I'll be just as excited about that. One player doesn't make a team but one player can sure as heck become a team problem. Rhule, is taking a huge chance with this and in the end it could greatly effect the in-state recruiting and trust of in-state coaches. Will it? Time will tell but Rhule has put in considerable effort to rebuild trust and I'd hate to see this saga end with those efforts washed away. There's loads of talent in-state over the next 2 years. Hoping we get every in-state athlete we target. Hoping I (and those like minded) am completely wrong about "breaking the coaches trust". There's loads of current and former coaches here and I'd like a couple of them to actually address this with their truths and why they base their truths as such.
  18. lol, yeah it is.. it's mostly a lot of BS.. that's what it is!!
  19. Pfft... We have a group of Ladies winning not just conference awards (yes, conference awards too) but national awards. The Ladies who have fought, clawed and stood the course. They've achieved the pinnacle of their sport. They're actually doing their part to carry the Husker Brand and barely a word from this board. Instead, it's a constant rant about what didn't happen and could have happened. here's what didn't happen: The men's programs, outside of baseball, haven't achieved a single conference championship in years. The football team can't even reach a mediocre bowl game fhs.. and all this wasted time/breath/energy b!^@hing about what could of/should of/might of happened. Fun??? Heck No!! Instead of filling up a thread on a recruit that might/probably won't sign here.. How about spending a little time discussing the awesome effort of the only gender of athletes at Nebraska that currently matter. They're carrying the universities banner/brand with great effort, awesome character and supreme confidence but I guess what the lack of support shown them indicates is there are a butt load of chauvinist on here. The best group of athletes at dear ol'nu are playing tonight. Playing for a championship. How about showing them some love and stop speculating for a minute, hour, day, about something very few (if any) of the posters actually know anything about. That Said!!! Lady Husker's Go Kick Some Pitt Arse!! GBR!!
  20. Can't even imagine how anxious the ladies are today to get this thing going. I mean it's 1pm and I'm like "hurry the heck up".. Nervous as a chicken on a chop block here but anxious also.
  21. I thought I'd be a copy cat so.. option 2
  22. Mods, any chance one of you can do this justice. Hail Varsity posted the video, then X poster Emily Ehman, no introduction needed here re-posted with this in here post, Emily's admission of "I had tears fall"... This is what sports should be about and so many of us forget. Lastly and most importantly, a reminder to all of us what hard work, extra effort, courage in the eye of defeat means to so many impressionable young minds. Do this Hail Varsity Video & Emily Ehman post props by modifying my post under a Huskerboard ID (delete this post) and then pin it as a reminder of what Greatness Really Looks Like. Please Please Please!! Our Lady's (the athletes and those dreaming of doing great things) deserve it. I Had Tears Fall
