  1. It is not speculation. I am strictly going with what Frost himself has said directly to the media concerning his family. Frost has made it crystal clear that he prefers to be home 'by dinner' and enjoyed that luxury while recruiting in Florida. Now he has to travel all over the nation and stay in hotel rooms and is clearly not home 'by dinner' when recruiting for NU. So yea, it is obvious that the NU job negatively impacts his family life, which involves his first new born child. Parents are always super anxious about raising their first child. Not so much for child #2 and #3 and so on.
  2. I know Frost will get next season. I also know he will be out-coached by OSU, MI, WI, IA, Minny, NW, OU. I see maybe 3 wins on our schedule next year. Would love to be proven wrong. Lovie Smith beat us this year and was fired....let that sink in. There is absolutely no way this dumpster fire continues on past 2021, no matter the cost. Frost can then move back to a warm state and plentiful recruitment fields and continue the rest of his career in a G5 setting. And we can move onto a competent coach who has the chops to win close games and make adjustments mid-stream, who can also recruit and develop players and put us in a position to win championships.
  3. The NU brass need to put some feelers out for Urban Meyer right now. After the 2021 debacle, Moos and Frost will most likely be gone and bringing in Urban Meyer at that point would be a grand slam reviving our program for years to come. We could make Dave Rimington our new AD and it would be a dream team. Frost is at least 15 years away from being able to mentally handle a P5 HC job, let alone a Blue Blood program like NU. He is just not there mentally or in his personal life (will be explained). He absolutely refuses to make adjustments in the heat of battle. His teams plays like they are poorly coached, because they are. He has a brand-new wife (typically high maintenance) and brand-new baby (always high maintenance). Frost has to spend a lot of time on the road away from his family recruiting and even said himself that he loved how he could recruit for a day in FL and then return home for dinner that evening. Frost has also made it clear that he is VERY protective of his family and even refused to publicly release the name of his new born (which was eventually found out any ways). This is a guy who will do ANYTHING for his wife and kid and their needs come before everything else in existence, which includes NU football. When his new house was robbed before even coming here, it set a really bad tone....especially for a guy who is super overprotective of his family! I don't see Nebraskans doing this kind of stuff, but outsiders who want to see NU fail...and there are many. And the number of buttons to push with Frost in this regard are innumerable. I am also willing to bet his wife is not to happy to go from sunny Florida to frozen tundra Lincoln. WE NEED a coach who does not have these concerns. We need a coach who sent off their kids to college loooong ago. We need a coach in his 50s who has nothing on his plate except work and a little bit of time with the wife and family. We need a coach who has won National Championships at the FBS level. We need a coach who can recruit at the highest level AND develop at the highest level. We need a coach who is willing to point the thumb when it is obvious. Urban Meyer fits the bill. Fans are about done. I have talked to many in Lincoln who have followed their whole life. The next hire will determine if Memorial stays full or becomes a relic of a once great football program.
  4. Firing Chin does not fix anything. But Frost is going to go soon and the new guy coming in is not going to keep any of Frost's assistants. I personally liked it when we had 4 guys on the line charging toward the QB every play. The pressure was palpable and it disrupted the opposing QB play. Now they know they have all day and just sit back and relax and take their time picking our secondary apart. I hope who ever replaces Chins goes back to the 4-3 defense. Chins is an average DC at the P5 level and an above average coach at the G5 level. He will eventually find himself working where he is most qualified. Our D gets blown up by quality offenses like OSU every time with no end in sight.
  5. This week we will have the "best practices yet!" and will lose to freaking Rutgers. This is the broken record twilight zone episode we are stuck in until we find a competent Head coach (which won't happen until the end of 2021 because $$$ and contracts and yada yada yada).
  6. Frost and his cohorts are miracle workers in a G5 weak conference and will spend the rest of their careers coaching at G5 schools. Frost brought his under-qualified assistants with him because he himself is also under-qualified for a Power 5 HC job. A jock's mindset always places themselves as 'the best' even if the reality is clearly contrary, that is what makes them jocks. Power 5 HC jobs do not just require you to be life-long jock, but to also have brains. In an alternate reality, a qualified Scott Frost would look his UCF assistants in the eye like a man and straight-up tell them that they just are not qualified for the assistant jobs at the power 5 level and that they will all find jobs and careers at the G5 level with his outstanding recommendation. Then that alternate reality qualified Scott Frost would then go on a national search for highly rated, up and coming power 5 level assistants across the pros (which he had extensive history with) and college (which he also had extensive history with) landscapes. This was suppose to happen but instead we got Riley 2.0. Anyone who thinks Chin is 'qualified' needs to remember the following: We always give up just enough points to lose (except for Penn State, which was a glitch in the Husker Matrix). If our offense sucks (which it does) then it is up to Chin to make-up the difference and get us the win.
  7. Not going to happen. Frost has the 'perfect' system and the players are just not 'doing it right'. Frost and Chip Kelly will most likely be show the door at the same time. The fast and furious spread Chip Kelly system is coming to an end. How on earth could anybody with half a brain think that keeping your defense on the field most of the game, as often as possible, and as quickly as possible is an effective strategy?? Remember those feared black shirt Defenses at Nebraska? That was partly because they were sitting on the sideline foaming at the mouth for 10-15 minutes waiting to play another series. Our current defense is lucky if they get 2 minutes between being on the field. Frost is re-inventing the wheel with his offensive scheme and everybody knows it except Frost. We will return to running the ball, but it won't be under a former QB as skipper.
  8. Frost will get 2021 and then be let go. That will be four consecutive losing seasons. IF Frost some how pulls off a miracle next season and gets to a bowl game, he will get one more year after that. To say that Frost is on the hot seat is an understatement of the century right now. It is win or lose for 2021 and looking at that schedule...
  9. While we are at it ... Well done on the inept coaching and broken plays/drives. Congrats on the predictable ineffective play-calling. Way to go on the failure to adjust at all. Kudos to the players and coaches on the many penalties. Haazah! for losing to a team that would not beat a single SEC team (except maybe Vanderbilt) and has one of the worst defenses in the entire country.
  10. That Frost is still not the guy to get us to a Championship of any kind. I honestly believe that if we gave Frost 10 years, his ceiling would be a 9 win season and maybe a mid-tier bowl win. We hired Frost and gave him a truck load of money to win championships. I was 19 years old in 1999, the last time Nebraska won a 'Championship' (albeit conference). I am now 40 years old. I am thankful that I got to see the Huskers go 3-5 in National Championship games. Most fan bases can only DREAM of seeing their team play in five National Championship games even if it meant losing them all. I would rather roll the dice and gamble on a new hire getting us to a championship than continue to see this broken record continue to play on for years to come.
  11. Me: Minnesota and Rutgers have terrible defenses who make their opponent's offense look amazing (in this case Purdue). ColoradoHusk: Purdue scored a ton and ran a ton of yards against Minnesota and Rutgers! You don't know what you are talking about!
  12. @ColoradoHusk Purdue's offense sucks. They lost to a very bad Minnesota D who averages giving up 35 points per game. And also lost to a very bad Rutgers D that is allowing an average of 34 points per game.
  13. Our defense is solid against bad offenses. We are atrocious at penalties, but Purdue was some how worse. We still need to run the ball more. Everyone in the B1G has two wins except OSU, Indiana, NW, and Iowa. With Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue, Illinois and NU at 2-4. How are the bowl games going to shake out again?
  14. Win out what? We only have one game left this season, Minnesota is in no shape to play football for many weeks. Moos is obviously not holding Frost to any kind of expectation every season. Otherwise he would not have given Frost an extension after two disastrous seasons. Moos is no longer Frost's boss but his cheerleader. I am starting to think Moos wants to leave this state with his millions more than Frost. Those year-round sunny warm states are looking mighty nice this time of year. Frost lived in sunny Florida and then went to Nebraska. Might as well have moved from Hawaii to Siberia. Willing to bet his wife is none too happy about that change...nor the fan attention they get in public...or their house being robbed before they moved here. Frost made it ultra clear he is super protective of his wife and child. I think a high profile gig like Nebraska is just not a good fit for Frost and he is clearly not the level of coach we all thought he was. He will take his millions and run to a warm place soon. And we can hire a coach who does not have any kids in the nest and will do anything to win....like say Urban Meyer.
  15. This is just sad. Might as well put up a massive sign above Memorial Stadium that says "Hey southern recruits! ... Choose a warm weather school!"
  16. Too late. Moos has hitched his wagon firmly to Frost and will be going down with him with a 4th consecutive losing season at Nebraska.
  17. And that is why Bill Moos will be let go mid-season 2021. IF he had not given Frost an extension, he might have saved his job with NU only being on the hook for one additional year beyond 2021, and the fact that everyone and their cats and dogs wanted Frost to be hired of which Moos had no choice (The Basketball and Baseball hires may pan out yet also giving Moos additional cred to remain AD after Frost). BUT he decided to give Frost a two year extension after two losing seasons. I would bet that Moos is the first power 5 AD to give a HC an extension after two consecutive losing seasons.
  18. Getting blown out at home to perennial cellar dweller Illinois is the very definition of a 'complete collapse' IMO. Four consecutive losing seasons (5 consecutive if you count Riley's last season) is plenty. The Fans will be asking for the check toward the end of next season.
  19. "So what your saying is you dont like scott frost. Are we clear on that" My post made it clear that Scotty is clearly a very poor HC. It's called getting a 'lemon'. Not a new experience for Husker fans. If you want to twist my post and the numbers we have these past three seasons into "you don't like Frost", then I cannot help you.
  20. Here is what is going down whether you like it or not. The biggest jump in improvement that you will see in a new HC hire is from year one to year two. We saw a ONE game win improvement with Scotty. Compare that to many other good HC hires and what I am about to say will be easier to digest. Good coaches worth their weight in gold show results in year one and majorly so in year two. Scotty will be gone at the end of the 2021 losing season. Moos will be gone towards the end of the season. The top brass at NU will NOT allow this sh*t show to continue into a fifth season. We are staring down the double barreled shot gun of four consecutive losing seasons at Nebraska football. This should never happen, even Smiley Riley pulled off a 9 win season. Anyone who thinks we will be beating the likes of Oklahoma, OSU, Michigan State, Michigan, Iowa, Wisconsin, Northwestern...next season, please re-watch the Illinois game. In fact our opening game in Ireland against Illinois is looking like a certain loss. If you think we are going to magically and dramatically improve from this season to next season, please see my second paragraph and read it again. Laugh at this post, cry at it, I don't care. I know bad football when I see it, and Scotty will go down as the worst HC at Nebraska since Bill Jennings. Here is a quick list of problems in case you have not been paying attention: Endless penalties Lack of discipline in close games Turnovers galore Year 3 and still don't know who our #1 QB is Recruit attrition in year 3 Upperclassmen and Underclassmen running for the transfer portal Red-zone offense nightmare Recruiting players from one position and putting them into a different position (say a TE becoming a Center!) Refusal to run the ball (Top RB has under 200 yards after FOUR games) Can't throw the deep ball to save our lives (QBs were recruited to run, not throw, but then thrust in a throw often scheme) And worst of all....Scotty throwing the players under the bus as soon as things go tits up. Lincoln rumor mill says that Scotty is calling/changing plays right before each snap. This means that the QB has to watch to the sideline and look for the play, then has to see if everyone is in their proper position (which mostly they are not) even physically having to move the RB to the proper spot in some cases, then has barely enough time to get the snap off before a delay of game. Instead of having a series of plays in a string or having plays ready for certain situations such as 2nd and long or 3rd and short, they are playing through this circus every single play. This explains a lot. Why most of our offensive plays look broken from the start. Why the center is itching to snap the ball (due to time running out) when the QB is not ready. Why in many cases WRs are not in the starting position they are supposed to be in for that play which throws off their route and the QB has to majorly adjust with blocks being no longer effective. If Scotty is some offensive guru...then this sort of thing should NEVER happen. The Chip Kelly experiment has run its course. Chip is 9-19 at UCLA (looking at a 3rd consecutive losing season). Scotty is 10-19 at Nebraska (going to get a 3rd consecutive losing season). At the end of 2021, both will be fired and both will never HC at the Power 5 level again. Coordinators maybe (ala Bo), but not HC. Now let the cry baby parade continue..."your a troll"...."this is not fair!"...."We keep changing coaches we will never get better"(forgot to read my second paragraph?).
  21. Just two more losses! Big whoop-de-do! ....said no fan ever.
  22. Which of these West Division teams got the worst of the cross-overs? Nebraska: OSU and Penn State Illinois: Rutgers and OSU Iowa: Michigan State and Penn State Minn: Maryland and Michigan Northwestern: Maryland and Michigan State Purdue: Rutgers and Indiana Wisconsin: Michigan and Indiana I will give you a hint....they are the two toughest teams in the East Division.
  23. Ease of use not a top priority for this site. Want people to wade through page after page of posts to find the schedule instead of it being a post all by itself.
  24. I hope your upset bid is for Wisconsin, because with OSU there is literally no chance. We will be lucky to lose by less than 20 points to OSU.
  25. At OSU and Wisconsin right out of the gate is BRUTAL. Another season with the wind sucked out of our sails right out of the gate before we can build any momentum.
