If people find being an atheist beings them inner peace that’s great. If people find that believing in a higher power brings them inner peace and sense of well being that is awesome too. I think what @Frott Scostwas getting at if I read correctly was a ‘to each his own, whatever helps you achieve inner peace’ concept which I would agree subscribe to also. Others here who try and denigrate religion to help fulfill or justify their own beliefs are pretty disingenuous in my opinion. Same goes on the flip side for those who actively try and convert someone to a religion. I feels it okay to preach a religious belief, but not ok to force it down someone’s throat. It’s one reason why my wife and I have introduced religion to our kids, but let them have their own free choice on whether they want to continue to pursue their own religious journey. As far a Catholicism specifically goes, I have a problem with how the ‘Church’ has handled various crises in my lifetime though I believe in the actual basic teachings and how one should live their lives.

The Matt Gates case will be an interesting one to follow. Either the NYT broke a major scoop and helped make public the story of a Congressman engaging in inappropriate behavior with a minor, or they were fed bad info on an investigation that wasn’t going anywhere and had bad merit in order to politically damage someone. At this point, similar to the Cuomo cases, it’s important to wait for the facts to come out before making judgement and not rely on anonymous sources which hasn’t worked out lately for the Media lately. If it’s found Gaetz is guilty, he should obviously be immediately expelled from Congress. If it’s found he isn’t guilty, the NYT should be shamed for running with anonymous sources again.

Ya comparing the speech pattern of someone who knows five languages and English is the second language to Joe isn’t a good look.

Hopefully he does, however, Biden’s media availability has been nowhere close to what Trump provided.

Biden seems to do ok with his press conference. He’s obviously slow and isn’t the one making the decisions, but he represents a figurehead that is opposite Trump and it seems to be working for him. It will be nice when he gets out there answering non-prepared questions from a pre selected media more than every 65 days, but until then the strategy of keeping him from journalist is doing what the Democrat powers that be intended. Getting their agenda pushed through without allowing Biden gaffes to mess it up.
