This is a great example of a team built on a great foundation. They don’t really have any superstars. They’ll be back next year and will probably be even better. They’re going to be in the mix every year for the foreseeable future.

I think I just realized how big of a waste Verduzco has been on this staff for the last 4 years. I’m fairly confident we got a large upgrade in our QB coaching at the very least. Also like the experience he brings to the table which is something that nobody else on Scotts staff thus far can really match.

Whipple says the best QB’s we’ve coached are pricks. Guess that explains why we moved on from Adrian.

Coach Whip has been around the block man. After that 30 minute presser I’m pretty confident that our QB’s are in better hands than they were, sorry coach Verdu.

What is worst case scenario, I’m legitimately asking.. We’ve already been banning ourselves from postseason play for years with our putrid play. Scholarships? This team is arguably the worst in the B1G already so can’t get much lower. Team would probably be better with 12 walk-one that played unselfish basketball and good defense anyway. We have to fire Hoiberg? Good chance but all this does is give us justification to greatly reduce his buyout will actually save us a lot of money.. at this point I think the worst case is the NCAA forces us to give Fred a 10 year contract and keep things exactly as is and we have to watch this horrendous basketball for years to come.

Kudos to Alberts if he can get this s#!t show turned around…

So our best recruiter broke a bunch of rules recruiting for a team that absolutely blows and looks to be completely unraveling.. If true I think we can safely say this program is a dumpster fire. Just offer Dana Altman a bazillion dollars please.

I think we have to like our chances vs Pitt if we play like we did last night. Didn’t watch Louisville match but like you said that was really early and we are a much different team now. Wisconsin has had our number all year and then some. I’d love to play Louisville for the championship!

Especially with a quiet night from Stivrins, I know she’ll be tough to replace but this team has a bright future for years to come.

I think you seen why last night with the performances from Batenorst and Krause. They are the future of the program. I know she came here to be a 6 rotation player but she’s no Madi Kubik. Although she’s a very good player she never seemed explosive enough to be a dominant outside hitter.

Right, but obviously QB is a lot different cause you rarely split reps. In that position it would be tough to think you waited it out and it's your time now that Adrian is gone but then they just bring in somebody else. Especially if he feels the offense is going in a different direction but I sure hope he sticks around and battles it out regardless. I believe Haarberg has the highest ceiling of either of them and I think he is more likely to benefit from the OC change.

Maybe. I feel like the coaches obviously think they can do better than what they have and that probably doesn't sit too well with Logan. There probably telling him he needs another year but it's hard not to think they couldn't just go back to the portal again next year. But I am a little surprised people are so down on Smothers, I thought he played pretty dang well and had Frost not gone into a shell when the game got tight we likely win the game and everybody talks about how he should have played all year. One thing that Adrian really struggled with the last few years (but seemed better this year) was completing the short easy throws. Adrian was always throwing short passes in the dirt or throwing where the receiver had to make a tough catch instead of in stride. Smothers was money under 15 yards. There's just no way they'd be able to run him like they did vs Iowa an entire season in the B1G.I think he'd work better in Frost' year 1 offense where we played fast but I don't think we'll be going back.

That kickoff return sucked but those things do happen, I think our coverage was good otherwise. I seen people complaining about having walk-ons on special teams but you want guys like Phalen Sanford and John Bullock on kickoff in my opinion. However I can't believe that we can't find a more dangerous guy to return kicks than Zach Weinmaster. Agree on the kicker, that's just our luck here lately, if Culp just played like he did last year we may have won 6 games.... Talk about a difference maker. In regards to the punter, one thing I didn't understand is the rotation between Przystup and Cerni. Especially when one is a left footed traditional style punter and one is a right footed rugby style punter. Stop using them situationally, just pick the best damn guy and try and run it to perfection. And don't ask a punter to punt directionally when they struggle to get it off clean half the time anyway. My biggest gripe is that we make no effort to pressure punts that I've seen yet we have have absolutely no punt return (did we have a single return over 10 yards?). Same on kick return, other teams have players begging to return one yet we get a short one and fair catch it. We've had so many struggles in the return game we're just happy if they make the catch, we are basically forfeiting those plays.
