  2. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bannersociety.com/platform/amp/2019/8/14/20747379/college-football-players-map-where-from 7 of the top 10 states for d1 football athletes in gross numbers and in per capital come from sec country. We need to stay viable there
  3. Can agree with most of this. But at the end of The day, Nebraska, Ohio state, Michigan, Wisconsin and others are still plucking lots of players from the very deep and wide high quality recruiting grounds of the southeast. It’s where football is the strongest and will continue to endure there, when other areas numbers decline. We don’t have to get the top kids now, plenty of low 4 stars and high 3 stars there to be had.
  4. I’m angry just like you are. However the money and stability of the big10 along with what it does for the university with academics and research just makes it too much to walk away from. Plus our lack of recent success lessens our appeal as an independent. Won’t happen. Even with its warts the big is where we need to be. The only issue is getting the inept warren out and putting someone like Delaney in his spot. That is going to nearly an impossible task in today’s climate.
  5. Nope it doesn’t matter what they think. It matters what all those very talented players in the southeast think along with their parents and coaches who influence where those kids go to school. The big 10 is going to be continually blasted nationally when these 100s of college football games are being played.
  6. As the season plays out hopefully those kids in the coveted southeast don’t think this is the kind of football being played here: We have to let them know that’s west coast style futbol, not quite at that level here yet lol
  7. This has been all over facebook. Yes we have the folks in even lowly Jackson Mississippi making fun of our league on the state traffic control billboards. That’s just the start of things. Very funny stuff https://m.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=3198256836956701&id=100003172493068&set=gm.10158654057914549&source=48 Like I said much earlier, the big 10 will be the butt of many well crafted zingers like this thanks to us sitting this fall season out. yes of course the pac 12 isn’t playing either but most of the country could care less, and the west coast doesnt either, so why bother even mentioning them lol
  8. Not sure how thanksgiving is better than mid october. What exactly does the extra 5-6 weeks buy you but much colder weather? And Ohio state losing out on a chance at a natty? And Justin fields missing out on a heisman? And our local economies missing out on revenue—people don’t like going out in the cold? And us missing out on a possible bowl game? And the big 10 being viewed as a jv schedule league, an afterthought? I’m guessing the negative recruiters from the big 3 will be painting us as the old grumpy slow wanna be Ivy League, but with sometimes football league Well at least we’re not the pac12, but that’s not saying much. They aren’t making even the slightest effort to play.
  9. That is hilarious and yes we are a joke to those in other parts of the country that love the game of college football.
  10. No one in the USA thinks that the games will go off without a hitch. Full expectations of hiccups and cancellations. High schools seem like they are pulling it off after a successful week 1 even with hiccups I’m thinking recruits look at football being played all around them and even playing themselves and wonder why should they risk playing in a conference that wouldn’t even bother waiting to see where the outbreak played out once students came back. Looking closer and thanks to negative recruiting, being aware the big 10 didn’t even have a detailed plan or protocols in place with 5 months to prepare. That doesn’t bode well for big 10 recruiting
  11. I wouldn’t put much stock in this source, some chiropractors have some pretty out there theories. However I’m guessing that 94 percent of those who have died are very old and have severe health issues.
  12. I hope the kids continue to get to play, I wasn’t able to go last night. Only game I wanted to go to had limits on who could attend. It’s a real shame some people seem to almost be hoping there are issues, and delight when there are - so they can be right. Sad days we live in. Personally I’m rooting for those kids even if we can’t play.
  13. That source. Had been totally discredited
  14. Japan will get the olympics one year from now, so that one time revenue is delayed for one year. The olympics rarely come Back to the same location. This football season revenue is a yearly deal, so this years revenue is lost forever. yes and I think we should all stop mowing, 951 lives to be saved, if we can save just one, not mowing would be worth it lol just forget about all the job losses and ugliness, great for the environment too. I’m guessing that will be the next sjw cause
  15. That is very true, because even a single death would be trumpeted by the media into a 24/7 story. Everything we do involves risk. Every year there are a handful of athletes who die due to injury, heat of flu. It is a risk they willingly take to gain the benefits of playing the game. Same for us driving on the streets or just living life. There was en entire team from Marshall that died in a plane crash, yet we still transport teams via planes. Any death is tragic, but if the standard is one death, they aren’t realistic or sane imo.
  16. Good leaders and honorable men step aside after their time is up to let others lead by staying out of the way. It has been the history of our presidents with the exception of one for most of our recent history. Glad coach is taking the dignified high road and not putting his nose into this.
  17. The most important part of this letter is this: the people that have the most skin in the game, the parents of the players are the most vocal about allowing the kids to play. Almost all of us are parents, we love our children and are very protective of them, we love them and we gather tons of information to mitigate risk and danger to our kids. And the consensus amoung loving parents is they want their kids to play.
  18. He gets to play this season, he wouldn’t be playing if he stayed here
  19. No he’s going to probably do what he did to prepare for the fall, very little. thats why Brohm came out with his own plan. Maybe warren is waiting for us or some 5th grade girl to mail him in a plan- maybe have some kind of radio contest thing. so what is the excuse we have for him now that he has little to nothing for the spring and a very incomplete plan for the fall? blame it on the presidents? Dog ate the homework? Vacation?
  20. Yes another article showing the arrogance and stupidity of Kevin Warren, doesn’t look good for him or the Big Warren should have been cooperating with them every step of the way.
  21. Like I said in Nebraska our participation numbers were always great, especially in rural areas. We lagged behind California as far as drops in the early - mid 2000s- people were shocked at my numbers when I shared. Our dip didn’t come till much later. Partly due to the coastal lag and partly due to the dying off of small towns. Football is hurting here, but not anything like it is in other parts of the country.
  22. They don’t have a good deal because their viewership numbers suck. College football just isn’t big out there especially beyond their own team, it’s just not a thing.
  23. People are moving out of California , it was a joke. California is warm, but people are moving from there. Yes their numbers are down in Cali, but part of it may be due to migration. Lol you know, rolling blackouts, riots, taxes etc
  24. Oregon state and Washington state have the money, fans, interest and passion to keep playing? They aren’t part of the big10 where they can succle at the teet of a fat tv contract because there just isn’t the interest out there to garner a big tv deal. The interest level just isn’t there
  25. It might not be fair though due to all the people leaving California lol - they lost 190,000 people in 2018 alone https://www.google.com/amp/s/calmatters.org/california-divide/2020/01/not-the-golden-state-anymore-middle-and-low-income-people-leaving-california/
