  1. That needs to be a catch. That's what the coaches have said was going to be an emphasis in camp for the wr/te...contested catches. That was definitely a catchable ball. Good coverage though. No flags, play on.
  2. Way down on your depth chart, very inconsequential but Malcolm is redshirting. He may play in his 4 Max games but he won't be on the everyday depth chart. I am sure there are lots more undersized guys we have that have already been told they're redshirting that we're not aware of.
  3. Im not mad at ya, I know better than to mess with the guy that snapped the infinity stone glove. I think we both love the huskers and both want them to do well. Just a difference of opinion on this area. Cheers to you iron man!
  4. Tony, Cowboy Joe was a gun-slinger. That's why I called him that. IMO, he was the best we've had. I not poo pooing him at all. Nearly 70% completion percentage, great TD/INT ratio...having the one season only really hurt. I thought Taylor was good too, but also thought he was more of a game manager/system QB guy. He picked the right system & he had some good years, for sure. Would either of these guys be top 5 QBs at Wisconsin? I don't know. Penn State? Probably not. Michigan? Michigan state? Ohio State? I sometimes think nostalgia warps thinking when it comes to husker football. I loved husker football as a kid...and I still love it now. I'll support Adrian and any other current player. He's a great young man & a good quarterback.
  5. That's our mount Rushmore of passing QBs. It's not a knock on them. They were good. But just take a scan throughout the rest of college football and see what other top tier programs mount Rushmore looks like. The bar is very low at Nebraska, in comparison. It isn't Ganz or Taylor's fault the passing tradition here has been non-existent before they arrived. Taylor was good, Ganz was good. I never bashed either one of them. Just stating that they're the best we've got isn't great in comparison to the rest of the football world. Y'all just knocking Martinez all the damn time when everyone in here knows he's got more tools in his shed than so many that have come before him here. As a fan base, we have very little to go off of...as far as what a good passing QBs looks like. Let's pump the breaks on dumping all over our current one. That's what my entire message has been about. Much love, Tony
  6. Is solid bad now? I'm confused, Tony
  7. This I agree with. He was very good in his one season as a full time starter. He could have become elite with another year.
  8. I feel like saying they were solid is good...right? They weren't bad. Far from it. But if that's the bar, as a program we're light-years behind almost every other big 10 team in terms of quality QBs...that are expected to throw it. As a program we're in the infant stage of that, as we've been an option attack for decades before that. It baffles me, that we have had very few good QBs in our programs history (throwers), yet we poo poo everyone that we get. Criticism is fine, and sometimes justified. Continually bashing every QB that plays on our roster is super juvenile. As I mentioned before, this is one of the reasons certain kids don't come here. Kids read what people say. If we want "better recruits" then don't be @$$holes and be supportive. I'm not saying you are that guy...I think we all know who those guys are.
  9. Proving my point even more! Guy gets butthurt about Zac Taylor...instead of Joe Ganz. That should put into perspective where our program has been in terms of QBs. Both fine, solid college QBs. There are tons of Zac Taylors on teams across the country. QB University we are not.
  10. This guy ain't walking through the door. Expectations vs. reality. AM is a good QB. He could be great with better pieces around him...which we all (except for Nebraska55fan) seem to think we will have this year. Does he have warts, yes. So did this guy. A big difference was this guy had an all world team supporting him. AM hasn't had that. We go around and around with this junk. Just let the kid play & let the chips fall where they may. We, as a fan base, poo poo more QBs than any other...imo. especially for a school that has had little to no history of throwers. When Cowboy Joe Ganz is your "go-to" best throwing QB...the bar is very low. This is a reason why kids don't want to come here...some of you guys suck huge donkey balls.
  11. Where's Nebraska55fan to offer some clarity to this situation?
  12. USC will come over. Alone...for now, if Kansas comes. The only other alternative that makes sense to me is bringing USC, UCLA, and Oregon to go with Kansas. ACC teams aren't going anywhere, yet. Iowa state or any other big 12 school left would be a consolation prize.
  13. @Mavric this is you...bursting my bubble, sir. Hashtag sad#
  14. I've been wrong about a lot of things in my life (zips up fanny pack), but I feel like I'm going to be right about this. Watching the spring game, he's the most complete back we have...then Morrison and Yant. Stepp gets a pass because I haven't seen him in our offense. Ervin is our next great RB at Nebraska, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
  15. I hear they're moving AM to receiver this year because some of us on the board are unhappy with his development. I hope you're happy.
  16. Hey, I get it...sometimes plays don't work. Trust me, I know first hand how hard it is sometimes to be a play caller. I am not poo pooing Frost...don't get that twisted. He knows his team strengths and weaknesses better than I do, but I am also not going to give any play caller a pass if they bang their head against the wall continuously doing stuff that never works. Some guys on here have lost all faith in this regime...I am not in that camp. Frost & Co have my support until they retire or get fired. But I do reserve my right to constructively criticize! Lol
  17. Throwing downfield to anyone would be a welcome sight. I hope we see that this year...we've got some weapons out wide that are either new...or haven't been given many chances to make plays.
  18. A play callers job is to put his guys in the best position to be successful. If we don't have rbs with good vision, running an inside zone play with any of them is poor play calling. We could run power, with or without a FB, we could run options/reads with the qbs or the often overused screen game. Running an inside zone is not like running isos with a FB...ramming it down people's throats. You have to be able to make split second judgment calls on where to go based upon the leverage of the guys up front. Good play caller-puts players in the best position for success
  19. Schemes should be based upon the skillsets you have. Frost went his scheme, without his type of guys. He got his type of guys and they got squashed in the B1G. Now he's getting his guys (adapted for the B1G). Bigger and stronger across the board. He seems to have adjusted his scheme as he has adjusted his roster. So long as he does that, the scheme will always be fine...in theory. The play calling and execution, on the other hand, have been lousy for the most part. That is putting it mildly. You can have the best plans, but if your guys can't execute it, it really doesn't matter...likewise, you can have the best guys, but if you have a crap scheme, you're going to fall flat on your face.
  20. All these teams wanting to join the BIG and SEC before the NCAA crumbles
