  1. Lots of "cheaters don't prosper" sentiment following that Illini game. Great lesson for the kids.
  2. Yes, this ^^^ .. also to note that player development begins with the moment of recruiting, and progresses through every moment of training and practice, and boneheaded mistakes are largely washed out with that development. If they are not you've either made a recruiting mistake or a LOT of coaching mistakes in practices and during the games. I honestly do not believe in this staff. I'm thinking that neither does the new A.D. to much of a full extent.
  3. I don't know if we need a forum for that, but I'd sure like to know what they are saying.
  4. I watched calmly as my Huskers looked like a pee-wee football team on a mediocre team's field, while their fans went wild.
  5. Illini back up QB couldn't make it at Rutgers, then came out and completed something like 11 of 12 passes right away and did just fine for the rest the game. Against us. Our Blackshirts. The other things that we did to lose the game are well cataloged here and in today's Husker Etxra, with all sports writers seeming to be in a brawl with one another as to who gets to write about which mistake or cluster of mistakes. Sipple even hinted that the Fordham and Buffalo games are not necessarily sure wins for us. At home.
  6. I've learned that I still get sad seeing them out there unable to pull together for very long (many of them). I just don't see true Huskers anymore. Just a lousy college team. And that is sad.
  7. This thread is about who do we hire to replace Scott Frost as head coach, not about whether or not Scott Frost will be replaced at the end of this season (or before?), but are we sure he's going to be replaced at the end of this season (or before?). Reasons he may not be replaced: - The season will be cut short by new COVID restrictions as the variant spreads. It would be very unfair to have him lose his job having not played out the season. - He gets 6 wins and a bowl game. That could happen. - Trev Alberts et al in the offices and those with the money understand that yet another coaching staff replacement is not just expensive but is also futile; it's still Nebraska where we can't recruit the elites any more, and that things have changed, basically.
  8. Can Trev get rid of the football program here too?
  9. I guess I can admit to being worried about Fordham now.
  10. I can't stand gutless football players. Most of that sort seem to be coach's pets. This may be the problem here (for several years), coupled with the fact that WE HAVE NO DEPTH AT QB, as in AM is so secure in his job that going the extra mile means nothing to him.
  11. Sarcasm on my part. Also with a smidgen of Husker Hope, I guess.
  12. So.. we've go to suffer through this for the whole season, unless COVID shuts it down. No, I'm not hoping for that. But... gawd same mess as before. D looked good for a bit there. O lines is getting their individual butts kicked. Coach Frost is .. I don't know what he is. Does anybody?
  13. I was about to post: We deserve better than this. Do we?
  14. D looks pretty good. O spotty as always. ST... words not legal here.
  15. Yeah, like 60 yards less.
  16. 1. Somebody brings tacos to the watch party. 2. Nobody brings up politics at the watch party. 3. The watch party goes long into the night celebrating the big win with talk of a great season and a lot of repeating of "we're back!"
  17. 1. Steady hand by AM 2. Extra mile attitude by all 3. The feeling that we played a lesser team and it showed
