  1. Huskers - 31 Illinois - 20 Huskers passing - 310 Huskers running - 288
  2. We'll win. And handily, but not in a steady manner, I'm thinking. It'll look good in the 1st quarter, then not so good by the half, then okay in the 3rd quarter, and finishing the game three scores ahead, at least. Probably something like 38 to 17.
  3. The posts about Vegas determining the line so they can make money (make $ bets going the way they want) ring the loudest. Their considerations as to merits of each team, our O vs their D, turnover percentages, history, etc play into it but they don't come out of it saying Nebraska is better than Illinois and the 7 point win is how much better. They come out of it saying hey folks place your money in copious amounts on the loser so we can have another yacht and you can wring your hands over gas prices.
  4. SF at his presser today put me in mind of Bo for some reason. Short time in front of the mic. Seemed okay but with an edge. Got outa there. If there's a "Pelini Mode" he may be in it. May be a good thing in some ways.
  5. Still no TV in Lawrence, eh. Is there a telegraph up and running yet? They can be reliable with the right operator.
  6. Young wipper-snappers like you skew the stats.
  7. Thanks for responding to that. I admit to being curious if there is any correlation between age groups and loyalty to the Huskers. I have no data, only an anecdote here and there, none of which add up to being able to draw a conclusion. Having said that I'll hazard a guess that older Husker fans are hanging in there with the belief that the Husker football team is meant to return to glory
  8. I sure agree with that, all of it. And that is what blows my mind about SF's thought processes as to being anything but looking very much forward to that game right from the instant it became known that game was in the works. I don't get it.. he's all for challenges. I am having a hard time with that reported willingness of him to skip/replace that OU game.
  9. (googling 'dirt burglars') .. Well I'll be hanged. ... Well alright then. Okay. Thought for sure it was Minnesota.
  10. Scott Frost just says klaatu barada nikto and the cop calmly turns and leaves.
  11. Yes. As with many things besides sports, timing is everything,
  12. SF likely has an attorney on retainer or at least on his contacts list. Anyone in power needs that these days, along with cameras and even witnesses in the area or room with the principle people who are being interacted with.
  13. He's lost or barely won too many "cupcake" games for that to make much sense beyond just scared of the Sooners. And not mindful of the huge fan interest. Shame on him but not that much shame.
  14. Damn I want that. No joke/sarcasm. Freaking show some stuff, Huskers. SF's building it, let's get the show on the road.
  15. "So it's maybe not a thing where there are only two options: -Propping Frost up without any criticism at all -Railing against him for being a loser" I like that kind of thinking; noticing that the two opposite extremes have a range of values and concepts in-between. Yes... the losses hurt, but we do see some depth. This violation stuff had better be just a momentary distraction, moving forward.
  16. Both of those things are likely true: Yours of seeing people defending Riley and blaming Pelini, and what's going on with Frost being propped up and not railed against (yet) by fans like us.
  17. Probably not a lot of subpoena power. But plenty of the kind of power than can keep football programs out of bowl games and off the playoff picture
  18. A feeling about him still being the coach, not being the coach, tickling his a** crack? Anyway, fwiw I think he can weather this with a good REAL good season. The cheating he's accused of is a breaking of the rules, for sure, but in the overall scheme of NCAA rules it seems like small potatoes.
  19. Yes. And the reason(s) for Moos leaving/Trev hired seem to be embedded in Trev's remarks.
  20. A dead program cannot be damaged. All this can do is change some of the staff again
  21. The rules are there and well known by staff and many fans. They're either followed to the T or they're broken. Plea bargaining over some perceived grey area is all SF has in this. Does seem rather chicken poo though, along with the seeming selective nature of the NCAA's investigations.
  22. So, (slightly obfuscated) racism is flourishing in this particular Husker forum. How interesting. I see you were called on it. That's good. But you're still here.
  23. No disagreement (except for my feeling/observation that there does seem to be less interest, not dramatic.. but a sort of inertia in that direction as opposed to days in previous years). I do think you're right in general about younger fans needed.... it makes my point in a way; the bluehairs do die off but there was a time when that did not matter and even was seen as opportunities by those on waiting lists for season tix.
