  1. The more I'm watching this, slow mesh, the more I'm liking it. Certainly interesting! Lots of experience there with Ruggiero. I like the fact that he hasn't moved around from different places a lot.
  2. Yeah doesn't seem there would be a possibility of that happening...
  3. Indeed! With a strong running game that offense could be potent here I think. OL development is key. What do you think about Roderick? Their philosophies are pretty aligned.
  4. Aaron Roderick, OC BYU Jeff Grimes, OC Baylor
  5. Eric Studesville, RB/Co-Offensive coordinator. Interesting concept anyway!
  6. Peetz is underwhelming to me a anyway. Probably a better position coach. Seems like Raiola fits.
  7. I don't think there needs to be a huge adjustment. He could incorporate many of the things he's been doing.
  8. How about an unspecified/unsystematic scheme featuring near 50% run and pass each. Similar to Chris Petersen's offense. I'd like a powerful downhill running game and a offensive line to back it up that's physical. Throw in some option with spread. Not as elaborate to coach yet effectively executed. https://www.footballstudyhall.com/2016/11/3/13486704/how-does-the-washington-husky-offense-work-chris-peterson-browning-gaskin https://www.uwdawgpound.com/2015/9/7/9268965/washington-huskies-offense-expained-2015
  9. That's not the way I heard it listening to it. To me, Scott was simply being generous. Dawson seems to be doing great with the linebackers. There's been aspects of the special teams that have improved. He wants to first determine the offensive coordinator as that is integral to everything else. There are different combinations that could evolve out of the change dependent upon who's hired, how the pieces come together. There could have co-special teams coaches really. Personally, a dedicated special teams coach makes the most sense. The most accurate answer is that he doesn't know. Obviously he values Dawson and wants him here. How he contributes is yet to be determined beyond coaching linebackers.
  10. Sean Snyder seems would be a solid special teams coach. Should be available too.
  11. And if you don't get a coordinator that can select a competent line coach, neither are going to have success. It works both ways
  12. I think that's right. Don't think it has to do a 180 though. I'm sensing we're going to have some solid hires.
  13. My speculation is, that some of the pieces are nearly put together. The alternates could surface relatively quick. There's more revenue made available for assistants.
  14. Frost is deserving of a lot of credit for his willingness. From the Big 10 adjusting to us to, us adjusting. It simply wasn't working well enough. This takes some pressure off the team so they can better focus instead of being distracted. It sends a message to recruits. Where others have failed here much due to their reluctance, Scott is demonstrating some flexibility. With every challenge, there's opportunity!
  15. 2-3 weeks, possibly sooner than that. It won't take as long as one might think.
  16. Congrats to both Frost and Alberts. It demonstrates Scott accepts that it's necessary to make changes and is willing to do what is required to put games in the win column. And, Trev for exercising creativity to work through it. I'm anticipating that there will be considerable adjustments to the offensive scheme. The overall philosophy with the alternate coaches will reflect a more effective means of execution. It just wasn't working well enough. The main reservation I had was Scott's reluctance for adaptation. One have to ask oneself what is getting in the way of being successful and do away with it. He can keep many of things he's done and use his creativeness to put together something that works much better here in the Big 10. It's a good start anyway. Trev Alberts is doing everything he can to help make success possible. If Scott does likewise, that's good. Real good. I'm cautiously optimistic, even a little excited!
  17. All four needed to go. With Lubick, I just don't think he meshed well with the Big 10 I applaud these changes. The offensive side of the ball needed a shakeup and not nibbling, marginal ones.
  18. Should've won at least two out of three of those. We need to be scoring around 35 points. Those games should have been won by one score or more. The scheme needs to be adjusted so that it transitions better to the red zone, ETC.
  19. Doesn't transition well to the red zone IMO. It's built around chunk plays where smaller chunks are needing to be incorporated in. Not enough effective, reliable running. The tight ends aren't utilized enough. Then you throw in a dysfunctional kicking game and special teams play...Field position is frequently an issue. It'd be nice if we had a better return threat. Coupled with the line play, the scheme also exposes the quarterbacks.
