  1. It seems we are entering the 'acceptance' stage of our grief... The suffering is almost over
  2. Maybe Trev already spoke with a bunch of different coaches... maybe those four were the only one's showing true interest; while the other names said "I'll get back to 'ya"
  3. It's better than the coliseum (USC) or the Rose Bowl (UCLA). There is A TON of literal sitting around during T.V. breaks at these stadiums (I live in LA, and have been to both); and these stadiums typically don't draw the same crowds unless Oregon, Utah, Notre Dame (big names) are in town. UCLA is interesting because the Rose Bowl is NOWHERE NEAR the actual campus. This takes a major toll on their attendance. I wonder how they will fare in B1G, in terms of attendance. I am ecstatic about the move, as Nebraska will come to LA WAAAAY more often, now, and I hope this opens up West-Coast recruiting for Nebraska (perhaps a new thread)
  4. Is that really the only way to get Urban to Lincoln?
  5. it was a joke, really... all the names kinda are (I doubt Peterson takes an OC job, anywhere; but maybe... Orgeron may be looking for a HC position, as well... I'd highly consider both if they'd be willing to be coordinators; but again, I doubt it) Richie is known to have anger management/mental health 'questions'... however, I do want an 'aggressive' personality coaching up our lines; just not someone who might go off the rails, again. I'd def. take a risk on an inexperienced Suh as DL coach, tho... I just got a sense he'd make a solid DL coach. I like the thought better than I felt about Raiola taking over the o-line (who wasn't exactly proven, either; and the Bears oline wasn't exactly stellar during his time there)
  6. Chris peterson - OC Ed Orgeron - DC Ndamukong Suh - DL coach (if not signed to NFL team) Richie Incognito - OL coach (to bring gritt) we're set!!!
  7. I'm not sold yet, either (how can any of us be with 5 big games remaining). if he can recruit lineman, I feel he should be doing that. If MJ can be a top tier O-line recruiter, I'd rather have him focusing on that, rather than skill positions, tbh. Not sure if that means he will need to be transitioned to OC (if not named HC), rather than WR coach... maybe RB coach? I have NO CLUE as to how position coaches work in accordance with recruiting. Do WR/QB coaches do o-line recruiting? Do DB coached recruit edge rushers?
  8. I don't know Mickey's recruiting history; so I'm going off everyone's word that he is a top recruiter (with some proof via his short time at Neb.) However, Does anyone know his track record when it comes to recruiting Linemen, specifically, Offensive linemen? This MUST be addressed; and addressed fast... Mickey touched a little on it, talking about JUCO possibilities.
  9. Pass rushers make a $h!t ton of money in the NFL... maybe that's enough to convince him to give DE/OLB a shot. Unfortunately, WR's also make a ton of money in the NFL, too. there seems to be more competition at WR at the collegiate and pro level, tho Guys that are natural-born stud pass rushers don't seem to come around very often If Coleman has the build and traits to be a potential stud pass rusher, it should be a no brainer. He may LOVE track, though... do what you love.
  10. An NFL staff, maybe? All the common names being thrown out there (except Rhule, kinda), are primarily College Guys. Ron Rivera & Mike Tomlin may be on the hot seat... potential candidates? We may also consider stealing a top NFL coordinator if he can bring guys who develop talent at a pro level with him. Eric Bieniemy, Mike Kafka, Leslie Frazier or Ken Dorsey would be interesting, maybe. IDK... it may be better to stick with someone who knows the college ranks, but interesting to discuss, as it is a possibility
  11. I'd be cool with that Defensive look... I'm assuming we move to 4-man line, if so (although you could run Tampa 2 outta a 3-man line). Was getting tired of the 3-man front, anyway. I always assumed attacking defense was contradictory to Bend-But-Don't-Break; but this explains how that's not exactly true... Do you have any idea how often he blitzes?
  12. So is Ndamukong Suh a candidate to be on this staff next year, or not?!?
  13. I don't know about the win total; but we will go to the Big House... and we will beat Michigan
  14. Firm:... Check this out; I can get you Tom Osborne and a time machine
  15. I agree, but one can generally get a sense of how good a recruiting class will end up being by around the end of the season (around the same time period of deciding who the next HC will be). I forgot that open transfer portal makes things weird, as well. Regardless, our class is currently at around 50-40, so this point may end up being moot.
  16. I'm still in the belief that we need a HC that is proven to send guys to the NFL... I also believe that the ability to pull top recruiting classes needs to taken into consideration (high draft classes typically lead to top recruiting classes); but I want a HC who can say that he knows what NFL teams are looking for, and knows how to develop and send his guys PRO. Obvi, my top pick is Urban... but, if Mickey can have moderate success this season (2 or 3 more wins), AND pulls a top 25(ish) recruiting class (especially after this debacle of a season), I would be more than on board for making him permanent.
  17. In my opinion, Nebraska can only sell itself to recruits via elite facilities + elite fanbase (NIL) I think we need a coach who can sell himself on being a winner, and a history of sending kids to the pros... because Nebraska can't sell either of those, at this point in time (not even close) I think that is what top recruits look for, above any other deciding factors (with exception of location, for some kids). With all that said... Urban Meyer is the first that comes to (my) mind. Lane Kiffin seems like a name that can sell that (to a degree). As a Raider fan, I've always wondered what Jon Gruden can do in the college ranks... I doubt most our fans would be interested in that name; but it is an intriguing name.
  18. Soooo... Some surgeons have literal skeletons in their closet?
  19. We split Indiana/Rutgers We split Purdue/Illinois We split Minny/Iowa ... We beat Wisconsin 5 Wins, BABY!!!
