Hope that also includes onside kick options the way the XFL does that.
  3. Because they want to reward top seeds with a bye, you can't do that with 8 or 16
  4. Finally got around to watching Iron Claw, mainly cause the of the hype on here. I was underwhelmed. This would have been better served as a 5-6 episode mini-series. Felt rushed and disjointed, completely removed one brother from the story, didn't build the family dynamic very well, or show the true collapse of the parents, merged storylines into one person (because they eliminated a brother) and didn't give enough time to build an emotional connection to the family members they did use. Had the potential, but not the time needed. This would have been an unforgettable mini-series, instead it's a D, at best, movie. I grew up watching WWF, WCCW, NWA, AWA etc in the early 80s through 90s, I stopped watching around the end of the attitude era. So this should have been in my wheelhouse of movies I love, instead it's one I'll never watch again and regret watching once.
  5. That was an incredible game last night for the Jays. If I wasn't so old, I'd have been down there on the court with the rest of the fans. One of my favorite football memories, is storming the field after the Halloween Massacre, tearing down the goal post, sliding on the old turf, lost some apparel, found a shoe, and took an endzone pylon as a trophy.
  6. I can't remember where I saw the comparison but if you compare the numbers between Luka and Lebron for either first 5 seasons or at age 23, Luka was a head in all categories, or at least in at least 95% of the comps. Lebron may have been a head in blocks, and there wasn't much else. Luka is under appreciated for how great he is. Especially when looking at his numbers to some of the 'Mt. Rushmore' greats.
  7. Yeah something needs to be done, these guys are multi-millionaires, and the winning team gets $100,000. Guys get 20+Million a year aren't incentived by 100K. I would say this is a glorified practice, but I think they go harder at practices. Eliminate the 'game' piece of it. Have the skills challenge, the 3-point contest, the dunk contest, maybe add a game of 'PONY' (think HORSE, but shorter) to do some trick shots, could even add an in-season e-tourney and the 'championship game between the two best from each conference at all-star weekend as well. Everyone plays newest version of NBA2K with updated rosters and play head-to-head culminating in the two best in the conference squaring off duiring this weekend. And if TV (TNT) wants a game, have the G-League all stars play a game. And just announce 15 all pros for each conference with some hype videos of each player. Until you can make the reward worth the effort for these multi-millionaires, there's no point in actually playing the game.
  8. I thought it was the last minute of each half?
  9. I can see 10-2 as much as I can see 6-6. How much improvement will we see at OL? Are these true freshman QBs ready for the leap? Can we find/develop a game breaker outside? With a year of film on the defensive schemes, will they be exploited more? Realistically I can see us getting 8. Winning the first 7, take the L at OSU. UCLA is moving more into the toss up category for me. Take the L at SoCal, and then maybe slight favorites in the last two games.

Kansas City's offense has been mediocre all year. What they did in the SB was typical of their offense, they didn't execute consistently in the regular season and they didn't in the SB . I've seen way more chiefs games than I wanted to this year, they were the model of inconsistency on offense. SF defense did what they needed to do, they held a team to under 20 points and gave their offense plenty of chances to win this game in regulation. Even with KCs defense, there was more than enough talent on SF to win the game going away. Instead Shanahan Shanahaned. And yes, CMC had 30 total touches, and they featured him on the final drives in regulation and OT, which they should have done. He should have had 45ish total touches, Mitchell should have had 10+ touches and worn that Chiefs defense out. The game plan going in should have been get CMC the MVP, keep Mahomes off the field and wear out the defense. Purdy should not have had 35+ attempts. Shanahan had the chance to seal this game early in the second half. Instead, three straight three and outs to start the second half with 7 of those plays pass attempts. It's not complicated in a one and done game, when you have the lead in the second half, shorten the game; grind it out and wear out the defense. But he over thought it. Failing to even get 5-8 yards after the interception to get in FG range and extend it back to a 2-possession game was sheer offensive stupidity on his part. Calling another pass play after the two-minute warning and not forcing KC to burn their second time out, and in essence eliminate the middle of the field for their game tying drive, is a fireable offense (IMO) by Shanahan. Looking at every drive they had in the SB, the drives that failed, are the drives they went Purdy heavy; the drives that they scored (minus the turnover drive to start the game, but they were easily in scoring range), are drives they featured CMC. Fans can say all they want about the bend don't break, but coming off that week 9 bye, counting the play-offs they went 9-2 (against 8 play-off teams) in games that mattered. The two losses were when the offense ished the bed against the Ravens and Shanahan ished the bed in the SB. Checking out the entire season, only 4 teams scored more than 20 on them. One bad game defensively all year, where they gave up 30+, but the bend and don't break was the issue, SF fans thinking that are dumb and deserve this L and next year's L when they lose again in the playoffs. After that, they'll be watching through that closed window wondering what if

There's also not riding CMC and throwing what 10 passes in a row with the lead in the second half. Shorten the game while running your all-pro and picking your spots to pass, not throwing so many times. Poor game management by the play caller. The defense getting a pick in Chiefs territory and doing absolutely nothing with the ball to start the 3rd quarter, with aforementioned poor play calling, and punting again. Key 3rd down late in the game, I believe with the lead, call a pass that was knocked down at the line instead of running the ball and forcing KC to either take a TO or using up more of the clock. The blame for the loss, if you want to blame anyone, isn't anywhere on the defensive side of the ball. The SF D was top 3-5 all year, gave SF offense short fields and decent field position most of the SB, and they could only muster up 19 points in regulation. I know KC has a great defense as well, but that's what cost the niners the game. As for not living up to their potential the last half of the season, in the last 8 regular season games that mattered, they gave up an average of 17 points (as bit less than 15 if you ignore the 33 the Ravens put up when the offense had at 5 turnovers), and that's against 5 play-off teams. The other outlier was against a divisional opponent where the lead was so big, backups played in the 4th quarter. Playoffs, they held GB and KC 20 points average in regulation and survived against the #3 offense. But giving up less than 20 in the super bowl, with the second ranked offense in the league should be a W. And would have been a W if it wasn't for Shanahan over thinking it. I'm not buying any of the spin that the defense was the problem.

Yeah, that was the problem with SF this year, the defense. Never mind the fact that Shanahan has now failed in all three SB appearances in the second half.
  13. You might be losing college football soon because of this. I mean when the starting QB for Georgia can buy a Lambo, they are getting crazy contracts now as well.
  14. Metallica would be epic, and Foo is amazing. I would love both of these acts, and they both have enough hits to make it a great show without tracks that only die-hard fans would know. My wife said Kelly Clarkson, I don't think I know any of her songs. I'm sure I do know her songs, but I don't associate them with her. I agree, Usher was boring. And I only recognized Yeah with Luda. My Twitter feed was saying how this was the best ever, so clearly he played some of his big hits, I just knew none of them, didn't even recognize them.
  15. Prince is my #2, I LOVED the Dre, Snoop one. The Chronic was on constant repeat from my senior year of HS through at least my freshman year of college. Such fond memories, so that's #1. For Prince's performance, I was a little bit more than slightly inebriated and I don't remember it live. But have watched it multiple times since and it's phenomenal.

Some very sad rich people right there.
  17. Now that we are past Usher, who should be next? Next year's in Nola, then it goes NoCal, SoCal. It seems like we are in the stage of artists that were big in the 90s getting their shot for the SB, and we haven't had a 'country' artist in a while (if ever) but I think for Nola, maybe a Garth Brooks or Carrie Underwood halftime would be highly liked. Maybe if the NFL wants to trigger the right some more, go with T.Swift. If they go back to rock maybe a Bon Jovi of a Def Leppard doing medleys of their hits. If they keep on the RB/Hip hop focus, maybe try and get an Outkast to come back together. Who say you? Who should do the halftime next year? I would personally like someone a little more contemporary, but the NFL doesn't seem to do that with the halftime act.
  18. There's a lot of love for the Ben Assfleck Dunking commercial, I found it dumb. Beyonce's is getting a lot of praise, mainly because she dropped new music. Either I'm becoming a curmudgeon or Ad Execs are trying too hard to be funny and are just missing badly. I'm think it's the latter, but my wife would say it's closer to a 50/50 split.
  19. That's fine...why leave and leave money on the table? He doesn't seem like he's a good guy willing to do a few million dollars favor for UCLA because they are broke. Even if he's absolutely miserable, he can just mail it in, he did in Philly, he could do it again and collect the big paycheck until UCLA either has no choice but to fire him or he completes his contract. OC jobs at premier schools come open almost yearly, he would have found another gig easily. And could have spun the issues at UCLA as UCLA not being able to give him what he needed to compete. Which most everyone would believe since they can't even afford to fire him.
  20. I know he wasn't popular, but why leave? He's the HC of a big time P4 school, and to leave to go be an OC? Stay and get fired and get the payout.
  21. We had an issue with my Mom's dodge dart that every time you used the turn signal the wipers would turn on. Then it became only if you turned left the wipers would turn on, it then became turning left and not indicating a turn at all the wipers would turn on. My mom decided to drive with the right turn signal. The first time she did that, it was a hot summer day. After 2 minutes of driving with her signal on, she got very loud beeps and a comment saying her signal was on. It beeped every 15 seconds or so. My mom had to alternate, turning off her signal and hearing the god awful screach of the wipers on a dry windshield every second and then turning on her signal to get the very loud beep and comment. She had to reset the turn signal, so it had to be off for a minute before she could turn it on again. She had to do this for roughly 3 months while waiting for dodge to get the part (this was during the auto-workers strike and getting parts was a challenge). It all worked out well though, as soon as she got the part, spent the $350 to fix it, her transmission went out and needed to be replaced. Because of the type of transmission, it was going to run 9500 to replace and the car was only worth 9000. She ended up having to sell it for 1500.
  22. On Mambacita Day (02/08/24--Gigi/Kobe/Kobe for those not getting why) the Lakers are unveiling the Kobe statue outside of Staples. I haven't actively looked, but I'm surprised I haven't seen a leak of what the statue will look like. I'm sure it'll be an emotional night for the Lakers fans in attendance and the players.
  23. Wow...a protected SECOND round pick. Usually don't see second round picks get the protection. It's usually just lottery top-5 type protections.

It's going to be hard for me to root for the whiners of the bay area, but I'm also tired of seeing the Chiefs win. I'm closer to @GSG feelings and rooting for a meteor.

He had 3 rushing TDs, but he doesn't count since he finished at Oklahoma. I just looked up the stats because I knew DeVonta Smith led them in receiving that game and thought he scored a TD, he did n'ot. Hurts had 3 rushing TDs and AJ Brown caught one.
