  1. Lot of crying in this thread. The only good post here was TuffTigers.
  2. You can't forget the part about the 94 season winning games on our backup and then 3rd string qb! And playing the national title game on the opposing teams home field.
  3. And to think some were upset by all of this gossip....
  4. I have questioned the special teams playcalling....after a two punt returns I was calling for us to just go for the block!
  5. Why does everyone act like the SEC now is better than anything in the past? Did nobody know how to play football back then? People try to say the undefeated miami dolphin team played crappy teams back then but were they super talented in comparison? The competition is the same. Kids may be faster and stronger now but if they were lacking physically back in the 90's it was across the board. Now the schedule of the 95....NU beat 4 top 10 teams that year! #8 KSU, #7 CU, #10 KU, #2 Florida. 94 schedule: #24 WVU, #13 UCLA, #16 KSU, #2 CU, #3 Miami 97 Schedule: #2 Washington, #17 KSU, #14 TAM, #3 Tennessee. Don't see how Florida's strength of schedule is so much better...
  6. I like the idea of a bigger, stronger runner in the backfield. Let him play.
  7. Oh I think I can add to that one! The KC radio is suggesting that the chiefs are shopping around former 1st round DT Glenn Dorsey!
  8. So that begs the answer to my original question....if the rain was a big factor than why not try to run the ball?
  9. That sure reminded me a lot of our game against Tech (the ending anyway....)the way the defenders released the wideout...except we didn't get so lucky.
  10. Oh my gosh...just lob the ball up there man. He was WIDE OPEN!!!!
  11. Are you sure about that? Last season missouri won the tie breaker because they beat us even though we beat kansas.....wait how about missouri beats ku we lose to ku and all have one loss....hmmm i guess you have a point. course I believe we would be the higher ranked if we won out. I guess they are thinking missouri would have the one big win against a ranked osu and we would only have a win against a lower ranked missouri....that still doesn't make sense.
  12. True. And don't misunderstand me I'm not in favor of calling for watson's head or anything...just seen some red flags. For me anyway.
  13. Point taken. Wasn't able to watch that game only listen to it. There are more ways to play ball control. Here's to the offense stepping up saturday.
  14. Maybe he doesn't consider Missouri decent competition.
  15. I'm certainly not looking past them. I'm just more confident in the direction of the program. I really believe this will be our toughest test for the defense to date. The offense I have no idea what to expect against their D.
  16. I think the shirts meant something before. I think it helped encourage competition to fight for a shirt. That said it does seem to conflict with a lot of the articles coming out explaining in the assisstant coach's own words that they don't want to single out starters too much so no one gets comfortable. Just a thought.
  17. Oh i'm sure if the game goes unfavorably for us saturday he'll be here...
  18. So they just had a random drug test and he just happened to be drinking the wrong kind of water...hmm....
  19. Actually it is broke. It took the defense to win that game. Missouri is not a great defensive team. We played into their strengths. We tried to run the ball with less men up front to block then missouri had to defend. As soon as we switched to 4 tight ends...touchdown drive all runs. And I don't think their D was worn out since we hadn't been able to sustain any drives all game long. If we just say "who cares we won" it'll eventually cost us against a better opponent. 1. It's raining and catching the ball is an issue this includes snapping the ball to the qb in shotgun . Put him under center. We had a fumble from a poor snap. 2. Missouri is too fast for thos stretch plays. Up the gut and give 8 and 9 guys a chance to push their 8 and 9 (in the box) If we don't establish a running game we can forget about keeping the ball away from good offenses like Tech. Say what you want. Does anyone here believe we will completely smother their offense saturday?
  20. I guess what troubled me about the statement was the way it sounded as though Cody Green wasn't expected to have many opportunities outside of scrambling to run the ball....which as we've seen hasn't been the case with zone reads and stuff. Had to be coach speak and I'm not really liking that either. Oh well. As long as the offense keeps moving forward...
  21. Uh yeah...back to this....glad someone else took issue with that. That first big run of Cody Green's looked like he covered a lot of distance quickly due to his size so I really question Watson on that one. I'm getting closer and closer to throwing in the towel on our OC. That set of comments is perplexing.
  22. Attempt to irritate Husker fans....FAILED
  23. Right on HuskerInLostWages. He goofed and should've taken responsibility for it.
