  1. It says... LSU defensive coordinator Bo Pelini will be the next Nebraska head coach, Sporting News has confirmed. Sporting News wouldnt risk its reputation on a rumor.... or would it? How are they exactly confirming it? You can read it through and through (I did) and still get no source to give it credibility. It's basically a rumor copied from ESPN in a race to get the news out. All the stuff in that article is fluff. No source is cited from anyone directly involved. Since ESPN did the same thing but reported it first, it takes the risk factor out for SN. Sporting News Pelini to NU
  2. Nothing has been confirmed with a source. Nothing said confirmed by athletic department, a coach, the people directly involved, or even a player on any team. What's being confirmed is a rumor copied from a rumor for top billing news reported first. It's all still speculation on opinion.
  3. How about not. No facts are in. Just rumors and speculation. Are you are looking for a high five or something for a guess? Maybe I dont understand your motive.
  4. Am I misreading something? There is nothing in the updated article that gives it any credibility or facts. No sources. As far as I'm concerned, it's a rumor. ESPN Pelini to NU Barring any last-minute snags, LSU defensive coordinator Bo Pelini will be introduced as the new head coach at Nebraska early next week, multiple sources confirmed Friday. Pelini will coach the Tigers defense Saturday in the SEC championship game against Tennessee and, according to a source close to the situation, will be in Lincoln for an announcement Monday. When reached by The Associated Press, Nebraska interim athletic director Tom Osborne refused to comment on the situation. "I have no comment one way or the other," said Osborne. Pelini and Buffalo coach Turner Gill were believed to be Tom Osborne's final two choices to replace fired Bill Callahan. Both have Nebraska ties -- Gill as a former player under Osborne and coach under Frank Solich, and Pelini as a former defensice coordinator under Solich. The move further complicates LSU's postseason. Head coach Les Miles is expected to meet with Michigan Wolverines early next week about its head-coaching vacancy. LSU is making an effort to keep Miles, but he's a Michigan alum who has often voiced his affection for the Wolverines program.
  5. It says The Sporting News confirms it, but it does not mention how, where, or with who. Sorry, but that article's info could easily have been taking from a messageboard. There is nothing that backs it up. Still speculation.
  6. Why doesnt ESPN just call it BO BIG RED? I dont know about you fellas, but I'm not buying into anything until the presser.
  7. Complaining? Knee-jerk reactions do happen, and that's fine. I'm not a Pelini fan, but will be on board if that is who TO hires. It says source, not credible source. It also doesn't say "source says Gill turns down job, Huskers offer it to Pelini". That could be as much of a valid case as well. Nothing is set in stone. It's all still speculation of opinions. GBR
  8. duh. I was joking with TuffTiger. Guess it wasnt that funny.
  9. What's the Pine Tree's 40? And can you chop it down? = you're remark on Okafor
  10. Dont let that fuzzy thinking fool you bro. Anyone who has a microphone in their face, or can write an article, can be very strong about their opinion and eventually believe in their own opinion as truth or fact. There are no facts laid out other than Dr. Tom busting his azz recruiting right now. And that he said he will let everyone know when the time comes. No one is having beers with Dr. Tom down at a pub and gathering info. It's all speculation and biased opinions. No one knows. He might be heavily leaning a certain way, but hasnt finalized his decision. That part will be when he brings in the guy a second time to get an offer on the table and the paperwork done. Until then, it's all about everyone's "feelings". Who they feel it will be. And they dont care if they get egg on their face.
  11. Ha ha. You know, we can be cool about Bama AND the Tigers. In fact some War Eagle fans came around here last bowl game and were pretty cool. Delusional is within all sports fandom.
  12. Yes but misleading. Aside from the KSU game, the points were not from putting the pedal to the metal. They were mostly playing catch up. Still, the potential is there.
  13. Ha ha Dunder! I know my music well. I wasnt alive to see these guys in concert, ahem AR.
  14. Oakenfold - Tranceport (spinning the whole CD from Time to Evervate)
  15. I have a close friend that plays in a Judas Priest tribute band. Dragged me and about 15 of us to a Priest concert with Queensryche last year, and it was loud and pretty damn cool.
  16. Nope. Now, had you said "The Beatles"... Well, I love the Beatles....and they are not from my era...that counts for something right? WE HAVE A WINNER!!! Can't deny a young lady with great taste... Great taste, yes. But had she said ELVIS, then even better taste. AR, The Beatles were incredible, but I favor Elvis over them. He was even their biggest inspiration. Such a great battle about who was better. Beatles wrote their own stuff (amazing stuff), and Big E could sing R&B, Gospel, Country, and of course RNR.
  17. Best/favorite - to each their own. Mine: 1. Eddie Van Halen 2. John Frusciante (Red Hot Chili Peppers) 3. Slash (GNR)
  18. I dont know, I think being a kid in the 80s wasnt so bad. You had simple things and they were basic: Shoes: Show: And Band:
  19. No, all signs are absolutely not pointing to Bo. Anybody that thinks that is just speculating and speaking their mind about a preference. Nothing wrong with that. Just dont be confused with the two.
  20. What"s woot or woox for or does it mean? I count at least 7 on you"re web. It goes real fast,so it may say some thing or a nother. Do you know? I have proboly spent a lot of time looking at it and no luck. TuffTiger COlumbia,MU 1 Top Tiger fan and team. = woox = happy = GBRS Like when MU beat KU you say woox, woox!
  21. Thanks Deb. Definately need Favre to be healthy. To me, he is NFL. Backups can sometimes step in and do well, like Rodgers did. The results usually shift and change when teams can go into a game preparing and planning against their weaknesses from film.
  22. Thank's BamaFan! I've always like Bama from a distance. Was even on campus one afternoon, was nice. I'm not a Nick Saban fan at all, so I was disappointed when he was hired. Good luck and please take over the SEC.
  23. I didnt read to deeply into what Wagner said. I thought he was being open and honest. Good to hear KWilson has recovered. I havent given up on him yet. The RB spot will be loaded. Lucky Glenn Castille Wilson Helu Mendoza Okafor *possibly Culbert (wildcard - he did rush for 2000yds his senior year, and did great in his only game for NU. I think the only reason he is not considered on offense anymore is b/c the defense needs help. His true talent though is at RB).
