  1. Welcome to the board. No questions here.
  2. Ouch! Hope he's doing okay. Wish I could hep with the info but I dont know the answers. Have fun though brother dawg!!!!
  3. Could we? Yes. Will we? Nobody could answer that today. I like your thinking, and I would love that to be true. I just have no clue if Witt or Lee will be a two year starter by then. Or if the young guys turn out to be great. But I'm hopeful right there with you! GBR!!!
  4. Blackshirts were a way to tell the offense from the defense. Devaney had one of his coaches go to the store to get some yellow shirts for the defense, and all they had was black. Or the story goes something like that. Blackshirts is a tradition and starters (only) should get them. You compete against your teammates for that right and the best (starters) are awarded them. I like the tradition and if these guys out there are the best, nothing you can do about it. It's not a sticker for the helmet, it's a Blackshirt. Hope they take pride in it and stick someone when they are on the field. And let's see some bones this season!

    Why

Welcome to the board. I think among the numerous post out there, you still wont find your answers. None of us will. But check around, plenty of discussions on that already.
  6. I play basketball & flag football. They're both competitive leagues with officials & talented people/players. Anyone here play in leagues? Just curious...
  7. Come on y'all... Ease up some and relax a little. Still got a long season ahead of us. We're all still Husker fans - the greatest, remember?
  8. Hang in there, and dont let it get you too worked up & frustrated. I'm sure a lot of people would like to see the younger players get plenty of opportunity to show what they can do. Even if it turns out that they cant get it done like in high school. My best suggestion is take a grain of salt with every published thought from a scouting paper and leave it at that. They'll feed you size and speed times and interview HS coaches and the player, etc. And it does two things: It keeps their jobs so they can write more, and it feeds into most of the fans head with anticipation and hope that some kid is the next best thing to Mountain Dew. Opportunity is the key. It has to be given by the coaches, and then it's up to the player to take advantage of that by excelling.
  9. The Huskers could use a game breaker or threat, to turn a 5 yarder into a long score. Dont know if Niles can do that but I'd like to see him get the opportunity that is going to Hardy. Oklahoma, Texas, USC, Florida, Ohio State, etc, all seem to have "that guy" year after year. Gotta be somebody on our depth chart that can be that guy. Or so you would think. Not a whole lot of YAC from our current group. Shake and bake, make a move, then fly down field.
  10. Always good to hear from former players. I enjoyed the entire article.
  11. Good stuff! "Six inches off the mark" ??... Damn. I dont know about all that. But yah he has good hands and is pretty reliable. I have no problems seeing him on the field.
  12. Coors light kicks azz and so does Stella Artois! I think there's opium n sh!t in it. Or something because it's a different buzz.

    Our next QB

ya he is a GIANT!! Gabberts femur btw I have watched this kid play ... he is in a totally different class from anythign else I have ever seen. Then hopefully he starts to show that in his games this fall, it sounds like he had been stinking up the place. Could you please elaborate on how he's been stinking up the place? I think we already have enough of that here now without bringing more wood in for the fire. How or what has he been doing to be considered stinking up the place? He's just being honest. And he's right. There are a few post out there about it. Look for a topic on him on how he his doing his senior year. It's all there. BTW - if history tells us anything, being a highly recruited player does not guarentee immediate playing time or success at the next level.
  14. Thanks for the article Rob. Good stuff!
  15. You did not inlcude the entire article from the link you posted. Apparently the players AND the coaches are not on the same page. Or else nobody approved of Bowman's gesture. So lame... Bowman, you'll recall, did not wear his Blackshirt on Tuesday. Nobody followed his lead on Wednesday; all others were wearing Blackshirts. What's interesting was Callahan's response to Bowman's move. When asked about what Bowman did, this is all Callahan would say: “That’s his statement. You’d have to ask him. I can’t speak for him.”
  16. Not sure why they even put a jersey on Javorskie Lane. He had 2 carries for 2 yards - the entire game (one carry in the third, one carry in the fourth). That's ridiculous.
  17. Could it be a trust issue with younger players? They might have more raw talent, make bigger plays, but also make more mistakes? Who knows the answer? Nobody does.
  18. I'm impressed by Callahan's remarks.
  19. LOL! Great topic title! Yes I concur - Grixby sucks less.
  20. Reading those - it's always good to hear that! Very cool! And it wouldnt be possible without such great fans!
