  1. I like a healthy Denver to repeat. At least making it to the Finals. Got some other good teams in the West this year so it will be exciting. East will be Milw & Boston. I'm okay with those 3 favorites playing for it all. But of course we shall see 2 new teams hanging with them towards the WCF and ECF. Basketball is really fun at that time. 1st round is a waste. Even the 2nd round of playoffs should be best of 5. Stop dragging on the inevitable.
  2. Thanks for asking, but No and they will barely make the playoffs and get ousted in round 1. Yes the West looks great, and I love seeing so many good teams playing well. As for the Mavs, it's hard to win when you have a starting 5 that is 6'8 Luka at PG, 6'11" rookie center Lively, and the other 3 starters are just 6'5 or 6'6" (PF/SF/SG). When Kyrie Irving returns the lineup gets even smaller. There still isn't a backup banger at Center and no true power forward. They don't have average-to-good defenders. So all they can to do is shoot a lot from the perimeter, take it to the paint and try to outscore you. Not a great formula if you ask me, and I doubt anyone in the West is concerned about playing them. It's only fun when it works every other night, or if Luka goes off, or if Kyrie can play and help, and if they get Lively involved inside on OOPS. I do think they make the playoff. Luka is too good and he wants to win so badly more than anything. He really isn't about numbers. He just accumulates them and is a top 5 player in the league. So the Mavs have a chance because of that. But according to some with voices, Kyrie Irving is the best player on the team, according to Kendrick Perkins, Skip Bayless, Mark Jackson and Stephen A. Smith. I don't agree though and it's not even close. Kyrie needs to eventually play though. He always misses games. And they play rusty when he comes back here and there. They didn't make it to playoffs last year because of Cuban trading for Kyrie. It's well documented the Mavs were sitting in 4th-5th place before trading for Irving. And it fell apart. Even Luka got hurt down the stretch. I do like Irving and early in the year before getting hurt, he was fitting in like a true #2 star player. Mavs were playing real good. And if Luka missed games, Irving could be the super star for those nights.
  3. PFF is more like Pffft..... Pro Football Focus is just a nerd site with nerdy data numbers created by a sports nerd, using questionable formulas that are difficult to judge what is right or what is wrong (a gray area), and only got heavy traction after it was bought by NFL's TV analyst Cris Collinsworth in 2014. And Collinsworth has gotten super super rich off of it. Multi-millions. Just like the NFL combine cannot determine who is good or great, but there are bench presses, stop watches, throwing the ball in shorts in a dome stadium, and it gives GMs and owners something exciting to see with cocktails. Basically, both are ok and kind of helpful. But lets not pretend it's the most favorable way to rate a player's performance or upside. Somehow, no one ever learned from listening to Mel Kiper while he got his pockets rich from agents pumping their players. Because he never had to come back and say "Well, my bad, I was really way off about that. Once again I'm wrong..... See you next year"
  4. I remember that and not only was he a damn flopper, but to hear Mark Jackson, representing as an NBA analyst, representing ESPN, and as a former player and coach - Mark Jackson says "but the question is, before he embellished it was there legitimate contact before he sold it" I hate when you see something with your eyes, the player and crowd sees the same thing...and the broadcast crew tries to give you some gray area and support towards the officials. Telling the fans watching the game that you didn't see what you just saw. Super slow motion replay "obvious foul, yeah it was a good call". And you are left thinking "What? that's just normal contact. That is not an "obvious foul" or even a foul. It's just contact. I mean, broadcasters do like rubbing elbows with players and getting kickbacks from players, and get paid by ESPN/TNT/FOX to agree with "the league" and protect certain players (LeBron, KD, Booker, Embiid, etc) or coaches (Prime Sanders) The NBA has no defense today, but it is more exciting scoring wise. The NBA has way more athletic players taller than 6'7 running the floor and shooting 3's (including stretch forwards since Dirk Nowitzki made it a thing). And the NBA can be really fun to watch. But the NBA is not the same. And I just wish the league and officials could realize that you can have physical contact without it being called a foul. And stop the flopping. And stop helping the "super stars" get to the free throw line when they start off having terrible shooting nights in the first half.
  5. LMBO heck yeah! they still the original ganstas for blazin movies and shenanigans ! I still laugh my a$$ off with a hit once every 5 years And Super Troopers Okay Okay, now I'm getting off track lolol good times good movies Back on track, the "discussing opportunities between the B1G and SEC" is no surprise and can carry on. Let's see where it goes and how we can be amazed someday soon. As if it is a brand new concept that just fell out of the sky, and nobody could connect the dots. I mean, they talking about discussing $$$ "opportunities" which has easily been in the works for 3 years or so. But it's finally becoming official. So stayed tune...... Even when NIL was going to happen someday, but we are supposed to pretend it wouldn't happen, or it could happen, but not sure how...... and then it happened. Or the transfer portal and players transferring anywhere and becoming immediately eligible like free agents...... and it happened. Or a college championship playoff going from 4 teams to...... All this s#!t starts way before it becomes a thing in the news. These ideas and concepts started all before Covid became Covid 19. Behind the scenes and under the radar. Just waiting to build it up, piece by piece. NIL. Bam. Transfer Protocol. Bam Schools, Players, Boosters get excited. Bam Networks get rich. Bam More teams in the playoffs. Bam Networks get richer. Bam Super Conferences. Bam Now, back to cheech and chong and Super Troopers Because I don't care what is supposed to come next
  6. Who likes us, Who doesn't, Who's numbers......None of that matters. We are officially a bubble team and things will be fine as long as we stay the course. But to be honest, we already have one foot in. It's as simple as keep rolling. Keep playing. Protect home court as much as possible, collect more wins, and show up in the B1G tourney. We are 16-6, sitting in the top 5 of the B1G, with 2 huge wins over the conferences top 2 teams - Purdue and Wisconsin. Michigan State and Indiana are right behind us. And you know they committee wants them in. But they will also look at Nebraska that rarely makes it to March Madness, so it will be a good story for the selection committee. Keep rolling like I said and it will be fine.
  7. Continue the pace and should get an invite, however, getting at least one win during the Big Tourney would probably seal the deal. I feel like the Big Tourney could become a make it or break it decision.
  8. Wow that conference schedule looks favorable. Other than Rutgers & Maryland, I'm not seeing too many heavy hitters. Could be a good year for the Huskers.
  9. LOL that's genius, because they would be asked to take their shirts off !!
  10. That's...... incredible. SMH Funny how strong LeBron is on fast breaks and trucking defenders his entire career. It's really sad seeing this. It's like someone made contact with his shoulder, but also shot his dog and stole his lunch money. And Lebron was just lying on the floor, grieving. It also doesn't look good for the NBA and officials when he takes 3 steps traveling and everyone looks away. NBA super star privilege is a real thing
  11. Go get Pitt. That would be a fun "after thanksgiving game" to see them play Penn State every year. Right after Nebraska/Iowa. Maybe grab Syracuse for the hoops and give Rutgers a friend. And If you steal West Virginia, then it's a whole 'nother partay....

"Got this from the 49ers..... It's the game ball.... No regrets"
  13. It could be, but I think he might have a bad night playing Jokic and if he scores just 18-23 points during a blowout, it affects his scoring title chances. That, and he is just a big pu&&y. They are everywhere in the league today.
  14. So I had a thought and wondered why so much hate is thrown at Jim Harbaugh who has won everywhere he's been. Regarding the hate, is it really him? Or is the hate Michigan? Take a moment. Think and be honest. Let's say Jim Harbaugh never coached at Michigan. Instead of going to Michigan to coach, he was named the head coach of..... Army. Or Navy. Or Air Force. End of the year, and it's the annual Army vs Navy game and Jim Harbaugh is coaching Army. He's put up some 8-4 teams, some 10 win teams, even some 11-2 teams. Do you still hate him? Think about it. But on the flip side, let's say Jim Harbaugh decided to coach one of the following schools instead........... Head coach Jim Harbaugh at...... Missouri Colorado Texas Texas A&M Miami, Fla Florida State Notre Dame USC Oklahoma Penn State Iowa ...Michigan All the teams that Nebraskans hate to death. Because they lost at times to them or feel threatened by them. I think the hate is really about the team. And the success and the coach just becomes part of the hate. I apologize if I am not making a good point. But, if he was leading Navy to back to back to back 11 win seasons and Frost got fired......... and he beat OU and Notre Dame....... as head coach of a military school........ some might have had different opinions about Jim Harbaugh that never went to Michigan. Some might have even wished he came to UNL. Or it's just hate for him no matter what.
  15. Don't worry about it friend. We both saw that all recruiting services realize that Raiola is the top QB in the country coming out of HS. They might rank a few "dual threats" above him - which tells you a QB can do a little bit of this and a little bit of that. We can only assume that he would have stayed a top 10 player if he remained at Georgia, or switched it up and chose Texas, USC, Alabama or Colorado instead, etc. I think they are just butt hurt (the recruiting services) and playing down Nebraska. I mean, if he chose Louisville or Oregon State, they would have dropped him as well. Recruiting services are weird like that. They ranked him at the top for years and suddenly............
  16. Can the Huskers take any more talent this year? Michigan, Washington & Alabama lost their coaches. Is there any room left on the roster, and will we be trying to land a couple more studs from those programs? Thanks if you know something

Possibly to some, or a huge portion of people. Romo is often correct a lot. That turns a group of people off. Romo's football IQ is higher than most people. That turns another group of people off. As a former Dallas Cowboys QB, that will always turn a large group of people off. Including people from New York & New Jersey, Philly, Pittsburgh, the DC area and Baltimore. Tony played for Dallas, and the Cowboys are in Texas. Anything to do with Texas will always turn another group of people off. So any unpopularity can come from reasons mentioned above, and are formed and predetermined based on dislike and predisposition. When you can remove all of that, it then comes down to matter of taste. You either like him for what he brings as an analyst, or you don't. I think he does a great job. And CBS thinks so too, by giving him that big fat contract to keep him from going elsewhere. The biggest contract ever.

Dan Campbell a big part to blame for losing. Had a couple field goal opportunities for the taking. But he was too dumb to visualize ahead of the game that points can change the scoreboard, instead of going for 4th down over and over. Campbell gave up 6 points (2 FGs). That's on him. And his team would have the right to be pissed at him if he is the leader. But also, Some Lions players dropped passes. Their brilliant OC was a dumbass and got away from the running game with a 3 score lead. How brilliant and dumb can you be? They also had some penalties. They had plays that could have been made, but failed. And when trailing 24-7 with the 2nd half to play, it's pretty amazing the 49ers played so clean that they never got called for holding. Never, not even once. Even when Purdy was in the pocket, and moving slowly and scrambling for yards. No penalties for pick plays, or even defensive holding/PI. Super clean. Like a super bowl invite. The 49ers must have played the ultimate "no penalty on us" 2nd half game ever in a situation that decides who goes to the Super Bowl or not. Congrats 49ers As for Dan Cambell, someone in Detroit needs to have the guts to punch him in the nuts, so hard that he pukes and recognizes a Field goal here, a field goal there, adds points to the scoreboard and helps your team more than going for it on 4th down in field goal territory over and over and over. 3 points is better than No points. 6 points from 2 field golas is also better than no points. He better learn a lesson because you can't be the head of a Lion and just go for it and disregard the consequences. And when you fail, don't give your team and fan base your excuse or your reason the following... "We are playing to win". You cannot lead the way with that point-blank stupidity. And definitely not with this much talent on your team, that played so hard all year, and with so much riding on a game. Go bite a kneecap and eat an apple under a tree this off season. Find some shade. Read a book. Learn and grow from those stupid mistakes you made today in teh NFC championship game.
  19. LOL hey now, I do remember Piatkowski, Erick Strickland, Bruce Chubik (garbage man & rebounder), Rich King, Chris Cresswell.....(the 90s). So I do recall a little bit !! They dominated but got upset immediately in March Madness So that's my bar. Meaning, Nebraska basketball - it can be done. At a high level. However, with so much time passing since then, my Husker BBall bar has been dropping lower and lower and lower each year. It's sad but I'm still a fan and quietly on guard until they build something great, with a string of 3 or 4 awesome seasons back to back.

    NFL 2023

Thanks, Yeah the NFL always mess with my mind with game times and schedules during the playoffs. Games on Saturdays and Sundays for a few weeks. I was leaning on Sundays for the two games. And, I'm just joking about San Francisco losing to Detroit. The San Francisco 49ers are the leagues best team all year, or at least among the best 2 teams all year. They are so good, and also playing at home, with their coaching staff being so amazing, there is no earthly way they should lose. San Francisco 49ers are easily the favorite to win. They should win before it's even half time. I mean, it's San Francisco and CMC, vs the little Detroit Lions who should be so lucky to play them.
