  1. Committed to Meechicken. We are still in on some good LB's. Would like to see Patin commit to us soon.
  2. Looking at Scout's visit list for December (as of 12/5; subject to change): 12/8 http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=204&p=9&a...amp;dv=20061205 Three verbals coming in...WR Paul, CB Sullivan, K Kunalic. WR Franklin is back, DT Perry soft Miami commit...hopefully we can wow him, DE Yancy could be nice pick up, OT Jones...anyone know about him? EDIT For 12/8: Good News... DT Harris to visit now for weekend of 12/8. 12/15 http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=204&p=9&a...amp;dv=20061212 TE Amie...would love this pick-up...wasn't he already extremely soft on Texas Tech...now with rumors of Leach leaving for Miami, this could be to our benefit! Juco DT Townsend...is likely down to us and Wazzou, I expect WR O'Neal to be out as he committed to Tenn., C Stephenson would be solid pick-up...would like to see him come here, S/ATH Bolden...I found this on him http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/news?slug=ri...tory_recruiting I like that Bolden comments he will play anywhere and seems like he could be an excellent defensive find...sounds like he is high on USC but hopefullly our visit impresses him. Anyone know much about CB's Thomas and Bell? LB/S O'Neal also scheduled http://www.huskerboard.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=8271 The class is shaping up nicely!
  3. Scout says he is visiting 12/15. http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=204&p=9&a...amp;dv=20061212
  4. Welcome, Armando! Hear you want to play in the NFL...that's great...just become a the lock-down corner we need and you are good as gold. Will be interested to see you play against USC and Texas next year to name a couple...and hopefully a rematch with OU! Go Blackshirts!
  5. Hi there au! This board has a nice video section. Link here: http://www.huskerboard.com/forums/index.php?showforum=99 Most of the videos are categorized by title for easy reference and lots from this year's team (scroll down through them and you will find all our games this year I believe). Enjoy...I am too lazy to list them all out. Perhaps another Husker fan can list the best ones as highlights.
  6. Nice job. Even though we lost you put together a nice video and I liked the song.
  7. Just checked Louisville's roster. They have 4 Freshman RB's and a Sophomore RB...not even looking at the JR's. Of these 5 underclassmen RB's they are heavier backs at 248, 240, 225, 225, and 220 lbs. I don't know why Castille would be concerned about our RB recruits of Helu 204 lbs. and Mendoza 175 lbs. as we obviously will use those backs in different capacities. Louisville already has a ton of backs at Castille's size! I'm hoping this guy doesn't get snowed by Louisville and keeps his committment with us.
  8. The offense absolutely needed to be changed. Callahan is the offense mind that has done that. Painful growing years but this was a good thing and we are getting better . We are going to be able to go into CA, TX, and FL and get recruits to play here in an NFL system. So, I like what has happened on offense. On defense, I agree we have been too inconsistent. We need to make a concentrated effort to get back to the BlackShirts tradition and be an intimidating force on defense. Recruiting more speed on defense will help as well as getting guys who can lay the wood. We are missing both right now so that must improve. I feel like I know what to expect on offense next year...but it will be how much the defense improves to decide if we will be back in BCS games and national championships.
  9. Yes, I was calling for Lucky to be in the game more also. He is very good off the short pass. It seemed ZT had the short pass available most of the night but didn't use it. I know when we were down 0-14 he was trying to get us back in the game. Just felt once he started to go that way he probably felt he was getting close to busting some long gains on deeper routes...but in the end it seemed he forced it and OU's DB's are just too good for that.
  10. Not sure about the push-offs but the non-call on the safety was absolute bulls#%! That was a big call in the game as OU came out of that with their 99 yard drive. When they didn't call the safety I went absolute apes#%! and told my wife to remember that as a game changing play. Unfortunately, I was right. I give OU credit...they got it done and won.
  11. I congratulate OU as they did what it took to win. Very frustrating game to watch as a Husker fan. We played great rush defense but OU exposed our weak CB's enough for big plays and our offense could not sustain drives against OU's defense. Frustrating to see Thompson continually roll out and complete passes...we appeared helpless against that. ZT is a great competitor but he played like crap tonight. Underthrowing receivers, not knowing when to get rid of it, having great pass protection and easy 7 yard short pass outlets but instead trying to throw for bigger gains. We should have dropped in more short crossing routes and short outs to keep drives alive. Would have opened up the running game more also. I was calling for Lucky the whole game...why didn't we have him in more? You saw how effective he was on short dump passes picking up extra yards. Very frustrated to see Lucky not play more. This OU offense was not very good but we made their WR look like a star. Their average QB did what was needed against our weak CB's. Purify opening fumble hurt but was not a killer. Their defense won the game as they covered well and ZT seemed flustered most of the night. I credit OU defense for the win. If you would have told me we held OU to 21 I would have taken my chances and figured we'd win...no way I thought we'd only get 7 points...again OU defense was the key. Will be good to see who we match up against in bowl game. Auburn? May be a similar test against a tough defense. Just a frustrating game as we had great field position often and did nothing with it. Congrats to OU. We are still about where I thought we'd be this year. We need to recruit CB's to make immediate impact. A clutch TE is needed in this offense also. Bowl game win will cap a great season but a loss would sour things. Tough loss as a championship was at stake and this game was win-able...
  12. Boo-YAH! Beat OU! :spooners :spooners :spooners
  13. Congrats to you. My wife was not an alum but she was born in Lincoln and many of her relatives are alums. That's how I got adopted into Husker Nation! There's no going back!!!
  14. Sources reporting... http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2676952 Was Pelini ever seriously considered? Some on this board sounded like they thought he was a lock. Koetter is out at Arizona St. That will happen when you send your starting QB to Nebraska...hahaha. Amato out at NC State. http://www.huskerboard.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=13371
  15. Amato is also out http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2676855 Interesting what happened to Koetter considering the Keller episode.
  16. He's back in the mix and we should have a good shot. See this link http://nebraska.scout.com/2/594626.html Scout is free right now so hope the link is up. He visited for the Colorado game and was hosted by BJax. Rated the visit very highly. Was told he would compete for the FS spot to replace Shanle. Even though he is listed as LB, we are recruiting him for safety. Initially was high on ISU but don't think they will get him now. Visited KSU when they upset Texas. Just visited us for the CU game. Still wants to visit Arkie and Clemson. 3 years to play 3. Could be an excellent fit.

William Yancy DE 6-4 230 Glendale, Ariz - Ironwood HS “The people in Nebraska are so personable, from the coaches to the players to the fans. Everybody in Nebraska supports the football team. That’s the most impressive thing to me
  18. I am sort of glad we are playing OU. I mean how fun is it to see Stoops lose? I was initially wanting a rematch with Texas, but Texas lost their luster when they lost to KSU and especially now since they also dropped the game to A&M. Plus we play Texas again next year. The two teams playing the best in the Big 12 right now will play and it should be a great game. :spooners
  19. If this is the case, glad we got him. I hate it when we drop passes...maybe this guy can change that! Welcome aboard, Eric!
  20. Awesome! Good to see we are getting guys that will bring it on defense. Opportunity to do great things on the defense in coming years. There are still some other studs on D out there that seem like they are close. C'mon, Travis is N so let's restore the Blackshirts! Welcome, Travis!
  21. Scout's list continues to change: http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=204&p=9&a...amp;dv=20061121 11 are now listed. Kunalic is back in for visit at CU game and a couple new Juco DT's from same school are listed now also. The Dec. visitors still list OT Parker, even though the latest is that he has committed to Louisville...will keep an eye on if he still visits us.
