  1. And to think I just spent $50 on this new Adidas Blackshirts jersey. Hmm, wasted money, even though it looks badass, in reality, it really isn't.
  2. Come on board, Husker fans believe. We've fought back before, it's only 2 scores. Go Big Red.
  3. Hmm, I was there too, and there weren't any empty seats in my section at all.
  4. Not sure if this has been posted yet or not... http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_page=1200...;u_sid=10141695
  5. If you only need to park, don't worry about the pass. I actually park in the residential neighborhood about 2 blocks north of the stadium. Plenty of street parking, or several folks who open up their lawns for $5. But, if you want to tailgate, you'd probably want the parking pass.
  6. Well, you certainly couldn't complain about the weather. In fact, that was probably one of the most perfect days for college football. Sunny, beautiful sky, pleasant temperature, gentle wind. All in all, even though we only won by 1 point, and by all rights should have lost, it's still just a game, entertainment, and that's what I took away from this event. For my money, it was a great day.
  7. I got a ticket 15 minutes before kickoff for $25. I offered $25, the guy (in his 60s) said he'd even take $20. I gave him the $25 that I originally offered. It was a great $25 investment. It was a good game to see the teams go back and forth with such a shootout. It was a great game to see Keller break a school record for the number of yards. It was a horrible game to realize that our defense has a few issues. It was a good game to loose my voice. I couldn't speak for the rest of the night. Spent $9 on stadium food and $5 on parking. Overall experience, priceless.
  8. The NCAA had several requirements, none of which Rosenblatt was able to meet. Specifically, they required close proximity to hotels and restaurants, neither of which Rosenblatt could provide. They also required modern facilities. Rosenblatt was not even close, and would need to be torn down and start from sratch to accomodate. While it's sad to see Roseblatt go, I see it as a win/win situation. Fahey said they wouldn't build a downtown stadium unless the NCAA could commit to a long-term (20 years) contract. It sounds like this might be a done deal, guaranteeing the College World Series in Omaha for years and years. We get a nice, new shiny stadium (with the pricetag too though), and the zoo gets to expand, making it an even better zoo than it already is (it's consistently in the national top 10). Sure, Rosenblatt is the CWS tradition, but if you're not willing to change with the times, you'll miss out on a lot of opportunities. Roll with the punches, build a new stadium, and keep the CWS in Omaha for decades to come. It's not so much that Rosenblatt is the CWS tradition, but rather Omaha itself.
  9. They didn't show the beginning with the players jumping out of the plane. ABC cut in right after all the computer animation.
  10. Awesome looking jersey. I have a red one that I wear every game Saturday, but may have to look into this when it comes out Oct 1. Sweet.
  11. The ESPN headline says it all. "#16 Huskers Survive". Wow not a pretty game, and we sure have a lot of work to do for next week. Not sure I would have went for it on 4th and 2 like Cally did there in the 4th quarter, but it worked out in the end.
  12. Last season, a photo was posted of the New KSU uniforms. It was a joke, with an elf-looking guy dressed in a purple suit with pointed shoes, etc. I believe he may have been holding a football helmet. The photo was titled ksu_uniforms.jpg. It was the funniest photo that I've seen in awhile. I'm sure we could color the photo to any uniform of the team that's struggling right now. But, it was a link to the photo, to a website that no longer appears to be working. Did anyone happen to save that photo on their harddrive? If so, could you repost it? A google search of ksu_uniforms.jpg leads to 3 separate posts on chat boards, but the actual photo seems to have disappeared for the time being. Thanks,
  13. Here's another one about men listening to their wives... To be Six again..... A man asks his wife, if you could have anything in the world for one day, what would you want? I'd love to be six again, she replied. On the morning of her birthday, he got her up bright and early and off they went to a theme park. What a day. He put her on every ride in the park: the death slide, the screaming loop, the wall of fear - everything there was "wow"! Five hours later she staggered out of the theme park, her head and her stomach upside down. Right to Mc Donald's they went, where her husband ordered her a Big Mac along with extra fries and a refreshing Chocolate Shake. Then it was off to a movie: the latest Hollywood Blockbuster, hot dog, popcorn, Pepsi cola and M&M's. What a fabulous adventure. Finally she wobbled home with her husband and collapsed into bed. He leaned over and lovingly asked, "Well dear, What was it like being six again?" One eye opened, “You Idiot....I meant my dress size." The moral of this story is: If a woman speaks and a man is actually listening, he will still get it wrong.
  14. Where do you have to do the test? Indoors or out? Training outdoors could actually help you if the test is indoors. You'll be conditioning your body to more demanding conditions, and the indoor test won't be so bad. You've got 6 full weeks of training. Use every bit of it. You said you've only been running for a week. You're still getting your body adjusted. After 6 weeks of training, this shouldn't be a problem for ya. Plus, you'll be in some ass-kicking shape, and your wife will love the results.
  15. Well, the better team definitely won. Fair and square (mostly).
  16. Yep, we started out like a train wreck, which set the mood for the entire game. It flustered them, and they couldn't bounce back. I'm still not sure that wasn't a safety though.
  17. I would have to disagree slightly. I think Taylor cost us the game to some degree. How many times did the defense give us GREAT field position, time and time again, only for the offense to throw it away every single time. Taylor has done a lot for this program, but he choked tonight, and had one of the worst games of his career? Grixby was just plain outsized. It was like a volkswagon going up against a Hummer. -> Edited.
  18. Actually, I think we should throw Ganz in there, let him have a snap in a championship game. Couldn't do any worse than Taylor.
  19. Yeah, I hear ya. I know, at some point, you have to go down with the ship. And, boy, are we sinking fast. You are absolutely correct, we have made great progress this year, and will hopefully continue to do so with Keller coming in next year. But, tonight really pisses me off. We had such great potential, and we wasted every single opportunity given to us tonight, beginning with the very first play. It was a train wreck from the beginning.
  20. Despite the records that he holds, unfortunately, this is what he will be remembered for. The records are great, and they will be broken again, but this will be a big part of his legacy. You're only as good as your last touchdown.
  21. I rest my case. No surprises there. Zac really choked tonight. Do you think the cold got to him?
  22. Holy crap.....I know it does not look good but this reminds me of the T A&M game. Why are you all giving up. I am not happy either and I know it does not look good but ssshheese. Go to work bandwagon. I've given more than enough second chances to this team tonight. They've wasted every opportunity. I don't see how any of that can change in the last 6 minutes. I'll say it again, it's not our game tonight. Never was. Never will be. Offense has shown on almost every play that they're struggling. They're not going to pull a miracle out of their hoohaa and make it all disappear.
  23. Taylor is a great guy, and has gotten us this far, but I really don't think he deserves to be Big 12 Offensive player of the year.
  24. That's it, I'm outta here. Turning it off, and going back to work. It's not our game. It never was. See you all in the Cotton Bowl.
