  1. I personally like all the rumors. I'm sure there are bits of truth in some of them. It's fun to know the rumors and see how things pan out.
  2. Well said Husker Homer. The defense wasn't mentioned but perhaps the lack of connection that you alluded to surfaced first on the defense but who knows. One thing is certain and that is Cally is insane, it appears he keeps running the same old tired plays over and over. It was obvious against Missouri that other teams have figured him out, it seems like it's mechanical play calling. Look at the defense, if this then that, if that then this, look at play card see what plays are available against the defense, pick one and run it. When Watson was calling the plays we saw mis-direction, counters, off balance passing, in other words he mixed it up and we scored twice!
  3. The battery chucks known as Colorado. Only Colorado would need to clear out its entire student section due to bad behavior.
  4. Starting offense is still in??? With 4 min left and down 22 points, this is a great opportunity to get the younger guys some experience especially at the quarterback position. I don't want to hear next year how we can't win because of inexperience at the quarterback position. Oh, !@#$ another stupid turnover.
  5. I hear ya! One of my friends got married on the day of the Missouri game, I was in the wedding so I couldn't get out of it. As a double wammy he had his bachelor party on a house boat the weekend of the USC game so I missed that game as well. I let him know that he broke over a dozen Husker man laws. I will never have my wedding on a Saturday in the fall.
  6. Bo already coached us to a win in a bowl game. So his record as head coach of Nebraska is 1-0 with 1 bowl game win. Not a bad start for a coach that looks to be in the running.
  7. KU is playing well this year so far. The way I look at it is that after last weekend there is a storm brewing in the north. Being a Nebraska fan I follow my team one game at a time and Kansas right now is a game we'll be playing later for in this storm we must take one game at a time and make sure we keep winning. The Big Red will go down and show Columbia that we are indeed tough as rain (whatever that means). Later, we'll focus on Kansas. Good luck to Kansas this weekend against KSU, this game will be telling as to Kansas's fortunes this year.
  8. I'm really pumped for this game, even more so than USC. I looked at the USC game as a measuring stick for the program and I felt going in that we had a good chance of winning that game. This game I feel we should win and that the team will step it up and get it done. Nebraska 31 Missouri 21 GBR!!!!
  9. I'm going to go with Tommie Frazier. Vince Young was spectacular and he basically willed Texas to a National Championship but it was one year and he left for the Pros before his Senior season. Tommie Frazier won two National Championships and should have won a third in the 93' season, not to mention he was the offensive leader of one of the greatest college football teams of all time the 95' Cornhuskers.
  10. Sounds like he flat out quit. Most people in such positions don't leave their job unless they have a new job lined up, Meyers is jobless at the moment.
  11. I think the monkey on the loose in Missouri found a computer.
  12. My Friend is getting married as well this Saturday and I'm in the wedding. The guys broken quite a few Husker Man Laws. I was out on a freakin house boat for his bachelor party and I missed the USC game. Oh well, he's a Notre Dame fan so go figure. The only thing he's going to win this season is a wife.
  13. I remember this game distinctly. I was at a sports bar with a group of my friends. As the game rolled on my friends started giving me more and more grief as it looked liked the Huskers were going to lose to an unranked Missouri team. When Davidson made that catch I jumped up on to the table and started pumping my fist and telling my friends that Missouri is going down in OT, I was promptly told to get down by a bouncer and my friends starting giving me a hard time for Nebraska getting so lucky. Sometimes you just have to get lucky.
  14. Just a few observations about this team. This team has the potential to play with anyone, we've seen it with Texas and USC. It really depends what Nebraska Team shows up. This game had the good Nebraska Team for 1.5 quarters, a so-so team for a 1.5 quarters and the team that played Kansas for a quarter at the end. Okie State is a good football team, much better then their record reflects and I believe that Texas will have a tough time beating them this year. Our issues seem to revolve around consistancy and not whether we're good enough, we are good enough when we play well. Looking ahead, we can beat the remaining teams and we can beat Texas in the Big 12 Championship. For those of you who don't remember, Nebraska used to lose at least once a year to a team that they should have beat, it was hard to swallow then and it is so today, 94,95 & 97 teams being the exception, Reminder: 1996 19-0 loss to Arizona State anyone? Just keeping things in perspective. Our Goals are still ahead GBR
  15. I'll be in the North Endzone for this game. I'm flying in for it so I'm hoping for a loud environment. Burnt Orange makes me , Go Red or go Home
  16. From this point on 4-1 would be acceptable. What I expect out of a good team is to beat the teams they should beat. Right now that's Mizzou, Texas A&M, Okie Light and the Battery Chucks in Colorado. I think we can beat Texas as well, if we lose I will only be disappointed if we just flat out play bad and give the game to them. If we play great and lose, then I won't be happy but I'll be satisfied that we were beat by a better team. I expect Memorial stadium to be loud this weekend as I'll be there yelling. Let's hook em and drag up till they quit this weekend GBR
  17. If Colorado has one win that's one win too many, good luck Buffs, we'll be seeing you soon.
  18. AP is just full of itself and I don't see how Coaches have time to watch the other teams to be able to come up with rankings. Where we are right now is just about right, we can beat all the teams behind us. The ones in front of us are also beatable but it will take a much better effort then the ones behind us. Now for the teams that are in front of us, Texas is up next. We can beat them but it will take a good game and very few mistakes. I'll be there on Saturday, flying in from California GBR
  19. First post but long time Husker fan and reader here. Both A&M and Mizzou are beatable and I consider them must wins if we are to capture the North. I feel it will be tougher to travel to A&M then to beat Mizzou at Home. I was cheering for A&M in this one. Any losses that Mizzou has will help us win the North, which by looking at the polls is our best shot to get to a BCS game...ala Big 12 Champions. GBR
