  1. Supposedly Callahan relinquished that power. This is just a rumor, but supposedly Callahan was calling the plays post-halftime -- 0 points scored post-halftime. All I can say is this: Our coaches are to blame. I'm sorry, but our players are to blame as well. There is ABSOLUTELY no viable excuse for what we (Nebraska fans) and others around the football world have witnessed from Nebraska football. Period. The defending of our player's poor play needs to stop. They're big boys. This isn't like criticizing a pee-wee football team's players. Most of them have their college paid for (not I, I'm paying ~$300 a month in student loans from UNL). I still had PLENTY of time to waste, or in the Nebraska Football team's players case...practice and get better. They are here to play football...plain and simple. Either way, even the most objective observer can see that there is a problem with both our coaching and players. Whether our player's performances can be attributed to coaching...we may never know. The one thing I do know: The recent performance of Nebraska football is unacceptable. I think it is time for me to stop living vicariously through Nebraska football. But after all, regardless of the Webster's definition of a fan, isn't that exactly what a "fan" is? What to do...what to do? Perhaps....but I'd be willing to bet the farm these kids would perform much better under a different coaching staff!
  2. at least we kept them under 600 yards of offense for the game. man, A&M must suck!
  3. i noticed that as well on the internet feed. you can hear the disgust and disdain in their voices as they read off the rushing and total yardage for A&M
  4. the D is on track to give up another 600 yards of offense
  5. they will roll over at the first sign of adversity. no heart!
  6. man, you are like "deep throat" from watergate. cool. after this "soap-opera" plays out and you have culled all of your information, you should lay out a timeline of when all of this stuff started to go down. it would make for a very interesting read for all husker fans. seriously consider doing it.
  7. man, you are like "deep throat" from watergate. cool.
  8. if "I Bleed Red" confirms it, then i will believe it. he was spot on regarding everything else. so, is it true? is callahan let go in 3 days or not?
  9. I heard it from a reliable employee at Dairy Queen that was close to the situation in 2003. He also said Frank Solich likes dilly bars. yum! dilly bars.
  10. however, i am directly attacking his integrity. he obviously made this up. How is it obvious? Were you hiding in his bushes while he was sniggering and clacking away at the keyboard? Yeesh...half the board is ready to believe everything they hear as gospel, and the other half as heresy. How about a little realism thrown in, just for my sake? ok, just for your sake. but he is making that story up.
  11. however, i am directly attacking his integrity. he obviously made this up.
  12. saw this at LJS. sounds like he wasn't the one calling for pud's head. i saw a couple of posts stating that he was the reason for the dismissal. these people were wrong. http://journalstar.com/blog/huskers.php?ti...p;tb=1&pb=1
  13. Name two things that can't score! Hi Oh! i thought the johnny carson tribute and monetary gift to the university was great.
  14. does anyone else think that after he lost all that weight, jason peter is a dead ringer for the actor ben cross ("chariots of fire", "species", "the dark shadows remake"). check out the link to the images of ben cross and then watch the video. i find it uncanny. http://images.google.com/images?sourceid=n...vision&cd=1
  15. good interview. i guess i hadn't seen a picture of jason in a long time. i know he had a drug problem until recently, but he has lost a ton of weight. he looks completely different to me.
  16. The campus has changed a lot. There is a brand new dorm right in the middle of campus now for honors students. New Union sort of. Just lots of updates that I feel have really made the campus look great. New Teachers College. Cather Hall has a brand new dorm just to the North of it.....no more bball hoops or parking lot. It'll be great....lots of new stuff cool! do they still have that obnoxious, red, circle K, construction beam looking thing between Hamilton Hall and Love Library? i peed on that thing several times after a couple of hard nights of drinking downtown.
  17. hi all: i will be attending my first game (and visiting lincoln) since i finished graduate school at UNL 10 years ago. i am anxious to see how the university and lincoln have changed in that time. for those who go to games all of the time or live in lincoln please let me know what are some of the new things to check out on game day. i know the team is kind of tanking right now, but i am really excited to get back there and soak the whole husker nation thing in again. thanks in advance for all of the recomendations.
  18. they have us playing TCU in the armed forces bowl! Yeah! http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/story/7312364?MSNHPHC
  19. it really casued you do some soul searching? bit strong, isn't it?
  20. hi all: this is how i see the season playing out. we will win a couple more home games, become bowl elligible (hello Shreveport!), the OWH will praise the incoming recruiting class as tops in the country (giving husker fans false hope, and callahan will still be the coach (for the next several eyars in my opinion). he may offer up some sort of human sacrafice to apease the blood thirsty big red legions. most people think it will be cosrove; however, i think it will be the O-line coach, Wagner, and we will be right back here 365 days from now complaining about the current situation and then everyone will be offering up their suggestions on how to fix the current situation. let me know if anyone else has any realistic predictions.
  21. nothing will come of this talk between the former players and peterson. peterson will start praising them on how good they were back then and how we are trying to get back to this level. peterson is very astute, will control the conversation, and then there will be some sort of press release stating how constructive it was. abolsutely nothing would come out of this meeting. the only people that can effect change right now are the board of regents, and they have more important things to concern themselves with, e.g. running a larger university.
