Because of that the other corner doesnt have to play as well, - Dont think Grixby will see the field except to return punts, i expect Jones/Murillo to start with the other at nickel Culbert, Thenarse and West could all contribute if necessary - I see Thenarse moving back to safety and being the heir apparent to Greens spot (due to his athleticism) Add Octo and Dillard at LB full time (2 better LB than we had last year) and our defense is getting better Throw in Suh who is better than Ola and the Beast or one of the Juco guys - Better yet Turner will be AWESOME Our Defense (talent wise) will be much improved but a word of caution.... According to a lot of people with a lot of football knowledge. I am not smart enough to figure this out on my own. you are one of the "husker red colored" glasses people. Im not gonna argue with you. In fact arguing with you is impossible. you think what you want and ill think what i want, simple enough. I think next year is gonna be great, we will be much better and continue to get better. I think a NC game is in the near future and that our program will be back in ELITE status after next year. OMFG, this is as bad as the Pedersen out and Should Frank have been fired, threads. It is one thing if we want to meet at a bar, shoot some pool, drink some beers, and have a good old fashioned argument just to argue. However, to continuously bring up his lack of adjustments is assenine. You that do simply will not look at or concede to the truth. You wear "husker red colored" glasses and cant see past the end of your nose. You can take all the rankings and throw them out the window. WE SIMPLY WERE NOT A VERY GOOD PASSING TEAM. We made adjustments but so did the other teams. Every second half the other team said hey " Stop the run, Stop the run, Stop the run" make Taylor beat us through the air. And guess what............... Taylor and our passing game wasnt good enough. Taylor, (God Love Him for what he did for us) just isnt that good. His arm strength is avg, his mobility is non-existent, his pass-pro suspect, and his overall talent at WR lacking. THIS IS THE PROBLEM, THE COMPLAINERS CANT ACCEPT THAT TAYLOR ISNT THAT GOOD, THEY VIEW HIM AS A SUPERSTAR. If they would ever just look at the situation from a neutral standpoint i believe this whole bizarre rant would leave us forever. You bitch about lack of adjustments, but what is he supposed to do when the opposite team takes away one aspect of your game and the other aspect of your game is not good enough to get the job done. If, next year, we have the same struggles then we can complain. Next year when we have better WR, a Better Line, as good as if not Better RB, and a QB that is head and shoulders above the previous QB, I dont think you will see these struggles. I hope this is just the Off-Season blues and people are on here complaining just to have something to do, because if these complaints are really issues with the said individuals then our Fan Base as a Whole is not nearly as knowledgeable as i once believed. The only thing they have in common is that they both coached at NU. Osborne may not have had losing records or missed bowl games but he coached in a different era. Today there is way more parity. TO was and is a legend but he is not here anymore. The one mistake he made was being loyal to Solich. To a man, every assistant coach at NU pleaded with TO to reconsider the Solich thing. It says something when your peers dont believe you should have the job. Do i miss the old days, the option, the power I, HELL YES. However, times have changed and Pedersen had tough decisions to make. Getting rid of Solich was a must. How can anyone side with Solich, HE TOOK A TEAM THAT WAS LOADED WITH TALENT, HAD WON 3 NC IN 4 YEARS (SHOULD HAVE BEEN 4 IN 5 YEARS) AND TURNED IT INTO $HIT. IVE SAID IT BEFORE AND ILL SAY IT AGAIN. Here is where i see one of the big dilemnas of the upcoming season. We have so many receivers. Nunn, Swift, Petersen, Hardy? are all experienced and have time Purify the best we had last year Holt, Henry, Brooks, Paul possibly more talented than most if not all of our experienced WR The problem is who to play. I for one dont like a team running 7-8-9 receivers on the field all the time. I think it led us to some predictable formations. Also i think your best receivers need to be on the field. The coaches have a tough one here. Swift and Petersen are liked by many many fans but i for one just dont see them being better on a personal level or for the team than Henry and Holt and even maybe Paul. It is simple athleticism vs trying hard. If these WR are as good as advertised then i dont think Swift Nunn and Petersen can see the field. I'd hate to be in the coaches shoes on this one I want something like the other teams with great WR Jarrett sat a few plays and so did Smith but both were generally on the field every play for USC and they ran 2-3 more in at times based on formations etc.

Even our beloved Blackshirts have admitted that Keller torched them in practice. If you read between the lines its as if some of them are flat out saying he is better than Taylor. Also heard that it was Henry and Brooks that were far and away his favorite Targets in torching the Blackshirts. I think he will be a stud next year along with the DARK HORSE prediction which is.................................................... WILL HENRY will emerge next year and turn into a national name.

You could be correct and that would be a shame. However, if Oco is smart enough to realize this problem and decides to take a new approach watch out! After all Charlie McBride did say that Octo has the potential to be one of the best if not the best defensive player weve had at Nebraska. I hope he realizes potential and myth wont be enough. My only disagreement is this years Texas game. If that game didnt impress you you werent watching. He was the best player on the field and when crunch time hit Octo was in every play and Ruud was relegated to the bench. I remember this for 2 reasons. 1. Octo made play after play 2. You could see Ruud pouting on the sidelines. In fact at the start of one series Ruud ran onto the field in his regular rotation, only to be calle back to the sidelines in favor of Octo. I think had Octo not hurt his ankle on the last play of the Texas game he would have received way more time the rest of the year. It also tells me that maybe he gets it now because ive heard he worked extremely hard to get past his ankle problems and in the time leading up to the bowl game. Only time will tell, but we want the best as husker fans, so we all need to hope that he (Octo) figures it out because if he does he will be the best Lb on the team and maybe in the league. He definitely has unparalleled talent

I dont disagree, however the offseason is about hope. And i certainly can hope that Octo can stay healthy for a whole season. If he does then he will be a stud.

Its nice that Ruud got mentioned. My respect for Rivals has just waned a little however. If Ruud is that good fine, but i sure missed it. Octo is better. i dont' really care if both play but Octo needs to be on the field. I frankly wouldnt be upset if McKeon sat, but having both Ruud and McKeon on the field isnt good. If Octo stays healthy he can and will be a beast. All Ive ever said is Octo needs to play and the one game he was truly healthy, TEXAS, he was hands down the best defensive player on the field on either team. No need to argue amongst the masses but if Dillard and Octo are on the field with Ruud people will end the year talking about how he is the 3rd best linebacker on his team. Love all of ya, we may disagree on a lot of things but there is one thing we all agree on. WE LOVE THE HUSKERS

1. Keller is the starter next year. 2. Ganz will never start here unless injury depletion 3. If Keller gets hurt before next season Lee will start 4. If Keller gets hurt during the season and we are in the middle of a championship run Lee will come out of redshirt and start 5. Ganz starts only if we are struggling as a team and a championship is out of the question and Keller gets hurt

Lucky is coming back -FACT Lucky will get a majority of the carries (barring Injury) - FACT Lucky will have a monster (Breakout) year because he is that good - FACT We will see mainly 2 RB Lucky and Glenn (Goalline and Short yardage) - I THINK FACT Wilson will Redshirt, Lucky will be gone after next year, Wilson will be the man the following year and will be considered one of the best ever here (He has that ability) - I HOPE FACT I dont personally think our RB situation is dire, i think it is improved. 4 RB is too many. BJax is gone and was good but Lucky is Better and will shine with a majority of the carries. Should Lucky get hurt then i think you'll see Wilson's redshirt pulled and he and Glenn will get the carries. However, should Glenn get hurt i think Wilson will stay redshirted and Castille or Helu will get the short yardage and goalline carries.

There was a post on here discussing the Defense and the size and speed of linebackers. What i remember from the post was the argument about whether 215 pound linebackers can still play today. I just looked at the LSU depth chart (Arguably the best Defense in America) and they did not have one linebacker on their 2-Deep that weighed over 225. If small quick playmaking LB can play for the best Defense in the best Conference I'd have to say they can play here. Just Food For Thought

BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH Stop looking for someone to blame as there isnt any blame here at all. We struggled in the second half because of Zach Taylor, PERIOD. Now i love Zach, but the facts are simple, he isnt all that good. In the first half we were able to do a lot of things offensively because of game planning, but the second half was different because every team we played came out and said the same thing. YOU WILL NOT RUN ANYMORE, TAYLOR IS GONNA HAVE TO BEAT US. He wasnt able to do so. What adjustments were we to make, we had a nice QB thats it, but when it was called for, our nice QB couldnt win games. The Big 12 championship is the best example. Stoops said it himself, they were not gonna let our run game beat them, it was gonna have to be through the air. Time and again Taylor's throws were late or off. Zach was wonderful for our program at a time when change was happening but he certainly was not the answer. If he came here this year and entered the QB competition he would finish 3rd behind Keller and Lee. Instead of blaming Callahan we need to look at the positives. He was able to take a very average QB and make him the Big 12 offensive player of the year. I'd say Hats Off to a masterful coaching job. Leave Cally alone, if you want to criticize, get on Coz

i am going go the Wake game

The coaches, the ones that make millions, they will do their jobs and put the right person in the game. We have to trust that. Lucky doesnt want to be an every down back. Am i not correct in saying that he stated that as a freshman. Maybe he meant it as a freshman, but lets ask him the same question again. I bet his answer is now different. Glenn or Lucky, we each have a favorite. However, i dont see how anyone can deny that Glenn does not bring near as much to the table. I keep seeing the comment about carries for loss. Hmmmmmmmmmmm barry sanders had about 1 of every 3 carries go for a loss HE MUST SUCK. I for one am a Lucky guy but i truly believe that if Wilson could ever get all his ducks in a row he would be by far the best we have. Lucky speed and quickness combined with Glenn power. Scary thought.

who is going to be our other cb for the 08 season?? like I said we are going to have to go juco again. and that hasnt exactly worked out the best for us so far.... First of all my caps lock got stuck and i know nothing about computers. Second, you want to call me out personally fine its over a computer, it says a lot about you Third, self-serving? It's my view, my opinion. I think a lot of you as fans just love people cuz they are huskers. Reread and you will see, i like swift and pedersen and nunn. I just dont think that they are the type of player to get us where we need to be. If Holt, henry, paul, and brooks turn into the players they are touted to be then they will be better than swift and pedersen. its almost as if you think by repeatedly defending them they are gonna get better. lets ask it this way, would you rather have purify purify and purify at receiver or purify swift and pedersen. thats all im saying. hopefully these other players step up and take over a lot of the snaps. the difference is we know what pedersen and swift can do they are not gonna get that much better so i hope that, although they are good we find several that are better. Fourth open mindedness. i think everyone is open minded on here, its just when it comes to this topic noone gives an original argument. its the same thing, they run nice routes they catch the ball. i agree but cant we hope for someone to run better routes still catch the ball and do it all with more speed. in closing you are the same fans that dislike Lucky who has unlimited potential but pine for swift and pedersen who have maxed out their potential. it makes no sense to me and me only. i believe that we have some young WR that could catch or surpass purify and if that is the case then i dont expect to see swift and pedersen on the field. again would you rather have 3 purifies or purify swift and pedersen. p.s. i forget nunn on purpose i think he is brutal
