  1. Of course Fox will be interested but I can't see ABC/ESPN letting the B1G go to another network. They will make a huge deal to keep the B1G.
  2. This also means our satellite/cable bills will be going up. I would much rather have ESPN have everything and they get a big price per subscriber than multiple sports channels getting quite a bit per month per subscriber. All these sports networks drive up the cost of tv deals and we have to suffer in the end. It stinks.
  3. If you have Speed then you will already get FS1. Speed channel is just changing names and adding new programming. Fuel TV is also becoming FS2.
  4. They already have their football schedules set so the easiest thing to do would be to just play the season out. Don't forget that Memphis, UCF, Houston & SMU are also set to start play in the *leftovers conference this year. Of course they'll have to rewrite the schedules for every other sport, but that shouldn't be an impossible hurdle. *Former Big East According to the news that came out yesterday the timetable has been moved up & the 'new' Big East (C7 + X & Butler) will start play this upcoming season (2013-2014). Apparently Fox pushed to get it done. But the Big East name will remain with the football schools until after the 2013 season.
  5. The Big East will remain the Big East as we know it right now through the 2013 season. Then in 2014 the Big East name will go to the catholic 7 teams with the Big East football teams having a new conference name.
  6. I wonder if Note Dame is having seconds thoughts about their ACC commitment.......seems like the Catholic 7 aka the revised Big East would be a perfect fit for the Irish. Not very much. We looked at it and saw that only basketball would be okay for our other sports. l We looked at it? You work at Notre Dame?
  7. I'm pretty sure knap was being facetious. Oops, I think you might be right.
  8. I can't wrap my head around that. Why would any SEC team want to leave the SEC to join the Big Ten? Revenue over there is bigger, it's the King Conference, blah blah blah. Actually the Big Ten pays out the most per University. The Pac-12 is second with the SEC third in payouts.
  9. I like this a lot. And OSU fans always make me laugh. I love how OSU and Michigan fans/coaches/players never say the other Universities name. Trips me out.
  10. I like UNC to the B1G. They seem to fit well in the conference. I'd really like to see UNC, Duke, Virginia and yes, Notre Dame join the conference to get to 18 teams.
  11. No, Wrigley Field is being renovated which will put an end to going only in one direction.
  12. "Certainly, Duke is Duke. There on TV more than 'Leave it to Beaver' reruns."
  13. And to all the people who don't want a playoff (I'm not counting this 4 team playoff system as a true playoff system) and are in favor of the bowl system then you can't complain any about the SEC and the conference being deemed 'best' by ESPN and most other media outlets. If we had a true playoff (at least 8, but best 16 team) and having the southern schools have to play up north during the winter months then this would all be moot. But under the current system and even this new four team playoff then nothing is going to change. The SEC will continue to be appointed best conference by far by any media.
  14. A lot of your reasons that you hate the NFL is exactly why I like it better. Prefer the two minute warning over having the clock stop every time a team gets a first down for the chains to move. It's dumb and needs to end. When you refer to the pass interference rule are you referring to the ball gets placed where the foul occurred? Because if so, that is much better than just 15 yards.
  15. If I have to choose I would choose the NFL over College Football. I really like them both a lot but the NFL is much better to me. If college football would ever get rid of the crappy bowl system and go to a true playoff system then I might lean more towards college but for now I'll stick with the NFL.
  16. http://espn.go.com/b...back-selections Ah, thanks for posting that link. I was reading the Capital One bowl's twitter feed yesterday and those tweets that I posted was what I read. Thanks for clarifying.
  17. You think they'd rather have Northwestern? If we lose, the Capitol One Bowl CANNOT choose Michigan. Yes, the Capital One Bowl can select Michigan over Nebraska. Michigan, right now only has 2 more loses than Nebraska, which is a requirement for the Capital One Bowl on who they can select. If Nebraska loses this Saturday they will only have one fewer loss than Michigan. Capital One Bowl twitter: Capital One Bowl ‏@CapitalOneBowl We have received clarification from the Big Ten office: if Nebraska loses the B1G CG, Michigan may still mathematically be an option for us. Capital One Bowl ‏@CapitalOneBowl Michigan at 8-4 would be within one loss of Nebraska at 10-3. Contract is wins OR losses. H/T to @brettkurkland for prompting clarification. Capital One Bowl ‏@CapitalOneBowl To restate it clearly: if Wisconsin wins the Big Ten, we'd have a pick of Nebraska (10-3), Northwestern (9-3) and potentially Michigan (8-4)
  18. If Nebraska loses to Wisconsin then I see the Capital One bowl passing and the Outback Bowl picking Nebraska. Don't believe the Capital One Bowl will want Nebraska two years in a row and they are really wanting Michigan.
  19. The Championship game will be broadcast by whichever network wins the rights to Big Ten games come 2017. The only reason ESPN/ABC aren't broadcasting the game for now is because the Championship game wasn't included in the TV rights deal that was signed years ago between the Big Ten and ESPN/ABC. Any network had the rights to bid to air the championship game and Fox ended up winning the rights until 2016.
  20. It's because your cable company, Charter, isn't letterboxing your local Fox affiliates feed they are receiving. All Fox games are produced in 16:9 and are not 4:3 safe anymore. Contact Charter and let them know. Also, couldn't heard to contact your local Fox affiliate and let them know.
  21. If you are using surround sound with Dolby Digital 5.1 (or better) then just unplug or turn off your center channel. Most commentators voices come from the center channel. You will then be left with the crowd noise in your front left and right and surround speakers.
  22. I heard it was going to be around 72 with no wind and no rain at all. GBR!!!
  23. We play at Southern Miss, 2nd game of the season. But yes. Bo is in an incredibly good position to have a successful and dominant career here. What could practically any other school in the country offer him what we can't? It might be easier to recruit in the SEC, but it's not like we can't pull in talented players ourselves. The Southern Miss game is either going to be moved/played at Arrowhead or in Lincoln.
