  1. Demps nearly ran the 100M for the US in Beijing. He is faster than 99.99999% of the people on the planet.
  2. From everything I have heard, we are very high on Martin.
  3. Personally, I think your post was awesome. It was like a football and liquor-soaked James Joyce.
  4. Guys, I'm sure the person who put that ring on Ebay does not want to sell it, and cherishes it just like all of us would. It is the worst economy in many decades - I'm sure putting food on the table and paying bills comes before football mementos.
  5. Player: J.R. "Ego" Ferguson Hometown: Frederick, MD Position: DE Height: 6'4" Weight: 270 lbs. 40 time: N/A Visit Date: TBD Scholarships offered: Nebraska, Boston College, Connecticut, Clemson, Duke, Georgia, Florida State, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan State, North Carolina, NC State, Oklahoma, Rutgers, South Carolina, Tennessee, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt Favorites: TBD Rankings/Stars: Rivals: Scout: ESPN Grade: N/A Assessing the talent: Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 5%. Recruited by Coach Papuchis, who has a knack for getting these Maryland guys to visit.
  6. Player: Justin McCay Hometown: Shawnee, KS Position: WR Height: 6'3" Weight: 197 lbs. 40 time: N/A Visit Date: TBD Scholarships offered: Nebraska, Colorado, Georgia, Florida, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Notre Dame, Oregon, Wisconsin Favorites: Rankings/Stars: Rivals: Scout: ESPN Grade: N/A Assessing the talent: Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 5%. One of the nation's best WRs, right next door in Kansas.
  7. Player: Robert Bolden Hometown: Orchard Lake, MI Position: QB Height: 6'4" Weight: 195 lbs. 40 time: 4.5 (self or coach reported) Visit Date: TBD Scholarships offered: Nebraska, Colorado, Duke, Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern, Oregon, Vanderbilt, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Central Michigan Favorites: TBD Rankings/Stars: Rivals: Scout: ESPN Grade: N/A Assessing the talent: Dual-threat QB Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 10%
  8. I think that is kind of a ridiculous assumption to make, especially with regards to 16 and 17 year-olds who are capable of tremendous physical development between now and their final year of eligibility in college... We have no idea what kind of QB Cody Green will be at the college level. All we know is that he is a tremendous high school player and a great athlete. The same goes for Jacoby Walker. Also, it's apparent we want Jacoby to be a Husker, as we were the first to offer.
  9. Player: Jacoby Walker Hometown: Spring, TX Position: QB Height: 6'2" Weight: 191 lbs. 40 time: 4.68 (timed at Scout.com combine in Dallas, TX) Visit Date: TBD Scholarships offered: Nebraska, Oklahoma State Favorites: Nebraska, Oklahoma State Rankings/Stars: Rivals: Scout: ESPN Grade: N/A Assessing the talent: Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 20%. Nebraska is the first to offer. Has good speed and is a legitimate dual-threat. Is also seeing interest from Florida State, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Oregon, Alabama and LSU.
  10. Player: Lache Seastrunk Hometown: Temple, TX Position: RB Height: 5'10" Weight: 183 lbs. 40 time: 4.41 (timed at Scout.com combine in Dallas, TX) Visit Date: TBD Scholarships offered: Nebraska, Auburn, Cal, Florida, LSU, Miami (FL), Oklahoma, Oregon, UCLA, USC, Texas, Texas A&M Favorites: TBD Rankings/Stars: Rivals: Scout: ESPN Grade: N/A Assessing the talent: "Speed and moves and acceleration are what make Lache a truly special player. He does a great job of finding the opening then bursting through the seam and finishing the play. His ability to accelerate so that the defensive player's angle of pursuit is off is truly one of his strengths. In full stride he is hitting three yards a stride and chews up the yardage." - from Scout (link above) Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 1%. One of the most highly sought after prospects for 2010.
  11. Was told by NU coaches that we are full at DB. He does not have an offer from Nebraska.
  12. Kids in HS transfer to bigger, better programs all the time. It's mostly to get them more exposure, or to switch to an offense that suits their play style. I wouldn't read too much into it.
  13. The fact that you guys continue to be skeptics when Willie and others have given inside information is ridiculous. Willie's posts (and other insiders' posts) are the best thing about our recruiting section. Without them, I would contribute and visit much, much less. I am incapable of seeing how these types of posts are bad, and why people feel the need to 'call people out.' Without them, it's just a bunch of regular joes speculating and wondering, which is very boring.
  14. Where would he play? He isn't 6 feet from everything I have heard, so unless he is Sedrick Ellis reincarnated, the likelihood he plays DT is slim. We are short on schollies next year, so do we offer another guy who will play fullback in an offense that does not use it all that much now? Coleman is a good player, no doubt, but not necessarily our type of player for next recruiting season. JMO. Willie, I agree that he doesn't exactly fit us to a T, but keep in mind that Bo has used shorter defensive linemen before. I hope that we pursue him to the fullest, because I personally think he is simply the best football player in the state for the 2010 class.
  15. Player: Travis Hawkins Hometown: Gaithersburg, MD (Quince Orchard HS, same as recent NU commitment Jason Ankrah) Position: CB Height: 5'10" Weight: 181 lbs. 40 time: 4.42 Visit Date: TBD Scholarships offered: Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, Michigan State, NC State, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State, Rutgers, UCF, Virginia, Virginia Tech, West Virginia Favorites: Soft commitment to Maryland, but talking with Nebraska, Alabama, Florida, Tennessee Rankings/Stars: Rivals: #21 CB Scout: #6 CB ESPN Grade: 80 #12 CB Assessing the talent: "Hawkins blends great athleticism and instincts in the secondary and consistently seems to be around the ball making plays. Lacks ideal height but is a chiseled athlete with a wide frame to pack on additional lean bulk to complement his aggressive style of play. A bit high and rigid in his pedal resulting in only adequate transitional quickness in an out. Does read the quarterback soundly, anticipate the throw well and generates great speed quickly breaking and jumping underneath routes. Looks for a high-impact hit if he can't separate the ball from the receiver. Tracks the deep throw well and does a good job high-pointing the jump ball flashing his good timing and leaping skills. Good break over deep out routes. Covers a lot of ground quickly with little wasted motion on run support. Chases down ball carriers with a relentless motor and good aggressiveness. Strong tackler and his good range, ball skills and toughness could make strong safety a good possibility with continued physical development. Fights through the stalk block with good upper-body strength or slips it with quickness. Ability to set the edge. Does not shy away from contact and actually looks to initiate it. However, he lacks great hips and recovery speed when projecting as a man-to-man cornerback prospect. Strength to step up and play press but lacks good pedal fluidity and footwork. Height is a concern versus today's taller college receivers and could hinder ability at corner or free safety. A threat with the ball in his hands on offense. Displays loose hips and good stop-start skill eluding defenders in space. Versatile, aggressive athlete. Great prospect." - from ESPN Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 5%. Is committed to Maryland, but has reopened his recruiting and is talking to Nebraska. Is teammates with recent commit Jason Ankrah.
  16. Trust me, if Ron Coleman wants to come to Nebraska, there will be a spot for him. He is an absolute freak, and will have quite an impressive scholarship list when it is all said and done. Keep in mind, he also plays d-line.
  17. The coaches have put a huge emphasis on recruiting 'character' kids.
  18. He's a legitimate BCS-conference D1 guy.
  19. Player: Adrian White Hometown: DeSoto, TX Position: CB Height: 5'11" Weight: 169 lbs 40 time: 4.5 Visit Date: TBD Scholarships offered: Nebraska, California, Florida, LSU, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Stanford, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Vanderbilt, Wisconsin, TCU Favorites: Rankings/Stars: Rivals: Scout: ESPN Assessing the talent: Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 1%
  20. Player: Darius Terrell Hometown: DeSoto, TX Position: WR Height: 6'3" Weight: 208 lbs 40 time: 4.55 Visit Date: TBD Scholarships offered: Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma Favorites: Nebraska Rankings/Stars: Rivals: Scout: ESPN: Assessing the talent: Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: TBD
  21. Byrd is on the brink of qualifying as well. It will be close.
  22. Looks doubtful for us. His top two are Oregon & USC, and he hasn't been focused at all on recruiting due to his team's current play-off run.
