  1. You should actually read the article you linked as it supports my conclusions. Here's the conclusion:
  2. Violating the Constitution in trying to claim legislative power that is given to Congress and not the President sure is refreshing. Plus he's trying to claim power for one of the dumbest, least effective things that he could do as I showed in the post you've quoted.
  3. Have you considered that such a barrier is not possible? Desperate people will do desperate things. Plus, walls haven't been effective for keeping people out for centuries. Even pregnant women have been able to scale the border wall just a few months ago. https://www.migrationpolicy.org/article/borders-and-walls-do-barriers-deter-unauthorized-migration Pregnant Migrant Woman Gives Birth on U.S. Soil 24 Hours After Climbing Border Wall Test of steel prototype for border wall showed it could be sawed through (emphasis mine)
  4. Eisenhower was a conservative in the sense of protecting the environment like Teddy Roosevelt. http://www.ontheissues.org/Celeb/Dwight_Eisenhower_Environment.htm
  5. I'm only seeing that 2 men were arrested. Do you have a link to where there's evidence that the attack was staged?
  6. What the - what? Did Coulter now decide Trump shouldn't build the wall?
  7. It makes a really big difference whether the Athletic Director and/or the department lied to the public about a criminal investigation into one of their players and how they were handling it. However, I'm rereading the timeline and the statements and it's plausible they didn't know the details.
  8. The original statement claimed the university didn't know any details. And I'm pretty sure Moos said in an interview that he and the athletic department didn't know anything other than an investigator wanted to talk to Mo. Here's the first statement:
  9. The university has released an updated statement, and it contradicts a lot of what the first statement and AD Moos originally claimed. How could they think this wouldn't get out? https://www.1011now.com/content/news/University-of-Nebraska-provides-updated-statement-on-Maurice-Washington--505853301.html
  10. ELLIOTT ABRAMS, TRUMP’S PICK TO BRING “DEMOCRACY” TO VENEZUELA, HAS SPENT HIS LIFE CRUSHING DEMOCRACY
  11. From what I've read, Omar is critical of Israel's government and of the money being used to influence American politicians to be pro-Israel, but she's made some questionable comments that deserve some criticism and backlash. That backlash has evolved into smears against her rather than informed criticism. The article I linked earlier gives good context.
  12. Ilhan Omar’s tweet revealed core truths about anti-Semitism in AmericaOmar’s tweet was bad. But the Republican reaction was profoundly hypocritical. That's an article that's worth reading because it describes both why Omar deserved criticism and why a lot of the reaction is way overblown and hypocritical.
  13. Great video on how the conservative media pressures Republican politicians into shutting down the government. Gingrich trying to be on both sides of the issue at the end is amazing:
  14. He just made steak au poivre a day or two before your post, so I thought you might have gotten the idea from there. Anyway, let us know how it turns out.
  15. Although Jews are a oppressed minority in many cases, let's not give Israel a pass on what they're doing in Palestine: https://www.hrw.org/world-report/2018/country-chapters/israel/palestine https://www.theguardian.com/world/live/2018/may/14/israeli-troops-kill-palestinians-protesting-against-us-embassy-move-to-jerusalem-live-updates https://www.economist.com/leaders/2018/05/17/how-to-end-the-endless-conflict-between-israel-and-the-palestinians
  16. I'm not opposed to cutting our spending where it makes sense, but it's also possible we're under revenue and not over spending: Sorry the video doesn't show the slides he's referring to, but I think they're the same ones from the end of this document: https://www.budget.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/Blyth - Senate testimony on balanced budgets copy.pdf
  17. We'll have to disagree about income tax as I haven't seen any proposals that are as good let alone better.
  18. It was just a quick example video, which shouldn't matter whether AOC was mentioned or not. But saying you want to pay no income tax in an earlier post is what I've been responding to. If you're ok with paying income tax but want to spend the tax money differently, that's fine but it's completely different. FYI, if you want the best bang for your buck, money spent on education and infrastructure actually return more money in future taxes than they cost (i.e. they're an investment not just an expense).
  19. Nike sales booming after Colin Kaepernick ad, invalidating critics
  20. This just switches it around so that the poor and middle classes pay most and the rich and ultra-rich pay almost none. The reason is because counter-intuitively money doesn't have the same value depending on how much you have. Here's video with a simple example:
