  1. And Lubbock is so far from everything else.
  2. I'd be willing to put money on it being a sign of the nations economy. Especially now with things getting worse. It just shows how this economy is affecting everything, even right down to sports. It's too bad.
  3. It ain't rocket science and it feels like Watson and Cotton are trying to make it into Rocket Science.
  4. Hey, I grew up in Holdrege and hunted north of Holdrege and Funk with my friends. Graduated in 2001. Probably hunted the same areas.
  5. Hey guys, I'm not much of a fisherman but I live near Standing Bear Lake and I would like to do some fall fishing there. I see it is stocked with trout in the fall and has walleye and bass. Any tips from anyone on what may work for bait or lures for these three types of fish? Again, I'm not much of a fisherman but would like to get into it. Thanks!
  6. My friends and I in high school use to go dove hunting after school in early fall. Loved it! They are second only to Quail in difficulty and fun IMO.
  7. Bravo, I'm liking the presentation of the quote as much as the quote itself!
  8. I think that whoever Tuff tiger comes into contact with be makes feel much better. What a good guy and we're glad you're here on our internet"s
  9. I saw Pelini 10 yards away from teh referee and when Pelini yelled a little more at that referee the flag came. I'm pretty sure it was for what he said. He must have called him a c*ck S@#ker.
  10. How about neither Asante and Major are any good. I saw Asante missing tackles as well. I'm not here to defend either of them and Wortman is just not capable of playing at this level but everyone knew the LB's would be weak.
  11. Stopping the run starts with the front four. VT got better with the run in the second half due to the lack of depth on the defensive front and the starters getting very little, if any rest. I wouldn't attribute the success against the run in the 1st half to Asante and the lack of success against the run in the second half to Major. It starts up front. Then there is another level to go through before you get to Asante and Major.
  12. What's the point? Everyone bitched when Callahan burned redshirts. Just let them be. We need to see the big picture, not just the here-and-now.
  13. I am planning on being down at the Mizzou game and will definately try to come if we get details. Glad it sounds like a success.
  14. In all honesty. It's the BCS era and Mizzou has something to prove week in and week out and Pinkel has been known in the past to run it up on the down nebraska teams.
  15. Fair enough. But does he ever have the itch to be a head-coach? I think he was interested in this job but didn't get much talk for it. I'm not saying he's doing a bad job. I'm just wondering.
  16. I bet that a ton of money will be put on Mizzou early in the week and the line will jump to about 14 by Saturday to even out the betting, maybe even higher.
  17. What does everyone think will happen with Watson at the end of the season? I personally think he was just kept in order to ease the transition and try to keep up the offensive output. I think that at the end of the year Nebraska and Watson will part ways on good terms and we'll have a new OC next season. Anyone have any thoughts?
  18. I always see teams pray after the game. Nothing new.
  19. You won't find out what time the game is until Monday, Oct. 6 probably.
  20. not saying they won't play hard. But playing hard obviously doesn't equate to wins. It gives a better chance but this team has too much up hill to climb in a tough conference.
  21. 3 keys to win. 1. Key Injury to Mizzou 2. New Defensive backs that don't make mistakes 3. New Offensive line It don't look good. Team has the heart now but just plain needs to be rebuilt.
  22. I said it before the season when everyone was thinking this team would go 8-4 or even 9-3. This is the same team as last year, with even less depth on Defense. That team went 5-7 so addition of a new coach does not add 3-4 wins a year unless it is a VERY special year. A new coach with some better coaching techniques may add 1 or 2 wins but he still needs the athletes to play and these are the same athletes as last year's disappointing team. Everyone drank the kool-aid but now it looks as though the kool-aid well ran dry. Now people can point out the Oregon St. win of USC or the Ole Miss win over Florida and say anything can happen and Nebraska can win against Mizzou or Tech or OU, etc. But in 4 1/2 years we have not seen this team beat someone that they were not supposed to beat, in fact they routinely have lost to teams they should have beat. It's just not in Nebraska's makeup right now. So sure it could happen but I don't see it happening. Next year maybe, but not this year. Patience is needed and they will be better in the long run. People need to curb their expectations because those who have huge expectations for a team that just does not have the talent to do so will be the most disappointed and the ones with the least amount of patience for a new coaching staff.
