  1. Was he ever charged with drunk driving? I heard 'suspision' which means no one will know for sure. Should he have got in a car after a few beers. No. But don't act all high and mighty and think this kid is the spawn of satan based on facts NO ONE KNOWS. Everything has been here-say. Curse me all you want and disagree with me all you want, but I'm going to trust that BC makes the right call based off of more facts than what I've been reading on here.
  2. It could be, but you'd have to put an age limit on the ticket holders. Either that, or make an "old people" section with all recliners where they can all sit down. I hate when people tell me to sit down. If I wanted to sit and be quiet I'd stay home.
  3. Will Henry, he's a stud. I find it hard to believe that Paul will come in as a true frosh and make a big impact. Remeber it took Purify who played in a similar offense at Juco half a year to get the route running down.
  4. I don't know, from what I've read he seems like a real layed back guy who wouldn't be offended by something like that. Maybe I wrong though who knows. Also we don't know what was going on with Callahan something more importent might have come up, like a family matter of some kind. Maybe he felt like Bown had a better connection with the 2 assistants. IMO, I don't thik it is as big of deal as everyone thinks. Just my 2 cents, which aren't worth much.
  5. are you serious, Virginia tech is the only decent team on our non-conference schedule for the next few years, plus VTech hasn't even been that good lately I was thinking the same thing. Not a lot of competition in the next few years, but its hard to constantly fill in the schedule with quality teams every year. Got to love the 2008 schedule though, only 4 road games all year.
  6. Best thing about Tennessee is its a home-home series for us.
  7. Frank Solich is gone and we'll never run the option again. PERIOD. If you don't like that fine, but quit whining and complaining about it all of the time. If you want what we had, go watch Ohio. They're desperate for fan support. If you want to stick around and watch a devoloping program, then sit back, enjoy and support it.
  8. Funny thing is, they are still bitching about him. Some don't even think he should get a shot to play next year.
  9. K-State. Went to school there and f'ing hated it.
  10. Is that a resorvation team? jk, but I hope we could beat them out Before talking trash on someone else's spelling, you might want to check your own. What's a resorvation?
  11. I agree. Can't stand watching that game and its one that they seem to put on ESPN Classic (go figure). Which game do I think will be most important? Wake on the road. Fail that game and USC is almost a guaranteed loss. Win and we have a lot of momentum.
  12. That is the selling point right there. We go to a BCS bowl and our recruiting increases a whole lot. Kids want to play for a national contender AND get a high draft with the pro's.
  13. I agree. According to the betting line at Harrah's in Vegas this week, Nebraska was one of only about 15 schools given a realistic probability to reach the BCS championship this year. The odds are 20-1. But Oklahoma was given 15-1 odds, and Texas was 22-1 (I think) By the way, the Big 12 had 3 schools in this group of 15 schools, more than any other conference. The Big 10 and SEC had two each. Nice post Tarheel. By the way, everyone seems to think that our DB's are going to get toasted by USC's WR's this year. As I understand, USC is replacing their WR corps (granted with some damn talented highschoool kids), but I always lean towards PT rather talent. How do you think that match up will fare? I'll give the nod to USC based off of size, but new (or fairly new) kids playing in essentially their biggest game will surely get nervous.
  14. Some turnovers will definately help kill any momentum USC has, especially at home. A big sack plus a fumble would just be huge. Almost like how we played Texas last year. Use the short yardage to control the ball and help set up the big plays. Hopefully there will be different result.
  15. Maybe both those schools are promising gifts and money if he comes? Seems to be a theme there.
  16. What I want to know is why everyone is saying we have no chance to beat the Big XII Powers this year? Our team is supposed to be better than last year (minus the QB and small decline in D-Line positions) and we should've beat Texas and in my opinion were one int away from beating OU? I'm also tired of hearing about this phenominal OU ground game? Didn't we completely shut that down last year?
  17. To get this thread back on topic, it would be nice if we could play up on USC's receivers to take away the short crap they seem to throw. Also be nice to get in the backfield and knock Booty around a little. In order to win ,we'll have to play sound football.
  18. I never had a huge issue with the commentators, but yeah that picture quality is horrible. Gotta love the HD, but if ESPN offers Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Mark May or some woman (like on ESPN2) to be the commentator for a Husker game I'm muting the damn TV cause I'd rather listen to Squirrel Head.
  19. I agree mostly, but it did seem to work well against Texasn Tech. Texas Tech runs a completely different kind of offense. Its good to drop the linebackers back to help cover the short and quick passes. BC and Coz have stated they wanted to stop the run first. This is usually accomplished better with 4 d-linemen. Look at the Auburn and Oklahoma games. They couldn't run on us. I think a 4-3 in the Big XII is ideal because so many good teams want to run it down your throat (OU, Tex, TexAM, even KSU although thats about all they can do). I like the idea of mixing a 3-4 in with the 4-3 to help get more speed on the field, but I'm no defensive coach, so this is just my opinion.
  20. I think it was a meltdown on offense and one big hit away on defense. If Shanle would have laid Bowman out right before the half instead of letting him score, it might have been a different game.
  21. I'm actually a lot happier with the outcome of that transaction. While I think he could have done well in this offense (not doing so good in the little apple though - sh***y coaches), we got Keller (another thanks goes out to Beck), Zac Lee and possibly Gabbert to take his place and I think we are a lot better off. It'll be fun watching one of the QB's we now have torch KSU for the next 3 years and for the next 30 years afterwards. Welcome to Husker Nation Blaine!
  22. I agree. Everyone says that Castille will play right away, but there is too much to the offense besides runnig the ball. Mendoza will get the nod before anyone else because of the expierence he picked up in the fall. D-1 ball is just that much faster than the top highschool league, but the expierence to the younger guys will be huge this year.
  23. I'm doing an Irish jig right now. Friggin' awesome
  24. What? Hitting a girl is A LOT worse than dragging her down the stairs by her hair? I guess I missed the day in school when they said "Its okay to drag a girl down the stairs after choking her, just as long as you don't 'strike' her."
