  1. after all the helmet to helmet flags Potter et al, have received this year the play at the end of the half should have been flagged for sure...especially since Paul laid there and writhed for a few seconds which gave officials time to see it was a safety issue on a defenseless player. the head tackle pissed me off too, but I can't stand how much they protect the QBs these days. I thought a no call was appropriate there. It's just that when Potter the Tree hits someone, he seems to get called everytime.
  2. North end zone. 94th row. great view, i've watched 4 games from this seat this year and you get a great view of the field and the Huskervisions. Must meet at game to pick up. $75, which is what we pay for it. 785-342-1139 Brad Jenkins ('77)
  3. I think Asante has turned into a very solid tackler if nothing else. In the TT game, I think he turned the corner. he made several hard tackles and saved many yds. I think this is a direct result of the coaching and 'placement' by the Pelini's.
  4. HA! good to see people finding a place to talk and rant about the Cornhuskers!
  5. i think he is actually a better runner when it's called off-tackled for him. He is a huge hombre and can deliver the wood...but it just seems he doesn't have that 'natural pop' like a Brandon Jacobs or Micheal Turner. However, just like the long TD run on 4th down, when he can kind of use his power to get to off tackle he can surely break tackles and get to the edge and be unstoppable. He seems to get stopped and/or fumble when he's simply going straight ahead or right up the gut he hesitates...just my two worthless cents.
  6. you're losse than, homiee

    Uh oh

I actually laugh my ass off at Fargo...he is so off base with his comments, it somehow and I mean somehow makes me laugh. almost like TAR/TAH. anyway, back to the thread...Joe has run the ball more in our spread option read the last 3 weeks than at any point in the season. Remember Crouch saying that at certain points in the season his legs just felt tired? they are resting Joe cuz he needs it and deserves it. Get the young guys competing a bit for a few days and wait til Sunday/Monday for regular game week prep to bring Joe back. I guarantee that's it.
  8. we have seats about 40 rows under his box in the North Endzone, my dad has a couple cool pics of him doin cheers during the games...also has caught some twizzlers and a hot dog he's launched during games. not a huge fan of his, but if I had the chance, like him, i'd be a big donor and get a sky box too. glad he's loyal!!
  9. you might want to check the spelling on your "of corse"...should be of Course not trying to nit pick, but, well...you know?
  10. that janet reno-hawkins pic is as good as Mangino in the Donkey Cart. YES!!!!
  11. well put everyone. however last years seniors I think should shoulder some of the responsibility for what happened to them. I overwhelmingly agree their attitude and performance were a result of their coaching, but they could've rallied around each other and those supporting them to grind it out. We see this yr's class as proof that most of these guys are upstanding young men who actually played FOR Nebraska and each other.
  12. McCathorn Clayton. just kidding. Taylor was pretty good. Don't forget about Farregamo. Frost won a championship and Crouch set the records and won the heisman but for pure domination and championships it has to be TD Tommie
  13. i respectfully disagree with you Trucker. I have two kids under the age of 3 and my two brothers have kids as well. None of us even live in NE anymore, but we attend games, go to Husker bars on gamedays, raise flags, etc....my son can even throw the bones!! Husker fans make it important in their kids lives to watch and cheer for the team, and also explain why the tradition is important. Not just winning or being on tv, but In the Deed the Glory.
  14. just wondering 'Topeka', do you have some pull? you must realize that having students near the field and near our own sideline simply makes it better?
  15. my 2 cents: my dad played and coached at Nebraska, i've been to over 80 games..home, away, and bowls...While I played college football at a D-II school during the dominate 90's which prevented me from being a student there, I still remember crowds at games, especially at Memorial. I have been to a few games this year, since Osborne allowed Alumni (my dad) to once again be on the short list for some tickets (4 tix, North side, row 90ish, split 3 ways for a total of $2400, [this includes a 'donation']). I was ASTONISHED at the Baylor game that clear across the stadium in the south end, even with my tired eyes of 32 years, I could plainly see empty seats!! I asked out loud several times how we have continued our 'streak' if there are empty seats?? I know if the tix are 'sold' it's a sellout, but if they're empty? not in my book. this is the first year i've ever seen it not full....maybe not PACKED, but it's always definetly been full. I don't know what to say. Of course the students are getting screwed, but show up anyway. it's what college is all about! I would say, overall, that the Stadium just hasn't been the same since the JumoTron has been put in. Several times cheers are started, and the fans are getting into it, and that damn screen shows something (a commercial, a 'flashback', a replay, whatever) and the crowd goes silent; turns their necks, and shuts up and listens to the speakers blast some crap instead of doing Husker Power or just making noise. It is the era we live in, sure, but it definetly takes away from the crowd 100% paying attention to the games. And I've been to at least 2 every year since 1985.
  16. the only time polls really bother me is when a team like Clemson is ranked in the top 10 to start the year and after a few games we all find out that they were really not that good at all. then, after a crappy Alabama beats them, they get vaulted into the top 15 from nowhere and are propelled in the BCS computer ranking system and in the eyes of all the journalists. I believe polls shouldn't be released until the 3rd week after the very first game is played. then we can see how teams are after their non-conference and OOC schedule really stacks up.
  17. figures...well, i'm leaving for the Park Meadows Fox and Hound to celebrate GBR victory with 400 other diehards....HuskerPower
  18. or should i just go to the fox and hound?
  19. yeah, we got a stable of young talent practicing, learning the Pelini philosophy...not out there getting the confidence and brains bashed in by OU. we will frickin rock it next year with everyone who redshirted. but this year, we could still go 9-4!! imagine that.
  20. where's the one from last year where Mangino is sitting in the donkey cart? I showed that to literally 500 people. i still laugh at it now and then when it passes through my brain.
  21. went to the game yesterday, from denver....my brother and I noticed it wasn't being tried by the cheerleaders too...we tried to get it going a couple times in the north end zone and had a lot of participation, then the damn loud speakers would come blasting in some ad for valentino's or something. also, the student section in the top of S. endzone had NOTICEABLY empty seats. 200-300 probably but overall, i would say it was loud especially after the 4th down stops and the safety...
