  1. The Portal is a brown ballon knot.
  2. Mark was on my Shrine team in 95 he was a beast. During lifting sessions that week he was power cleaning like 290x8 or something. but watching Janak run is what reminds the most of him. Both can fly.
  3. Kinda reminds me of the best football player from that area Mark Simmoneau. Except Janak is 6’2 and Mark was like 5’9 and on steroids lol
  4. Marcus Mendoza was by all accounts the greatest Afleet of all time at Nebraska. That kid tested off the charts and I never understood why he didn’t get more play. He made some damn great plays and should’ve seen the field more, by his Afletic feats alone. unless...he couldn’t block, remember the playbook, hold on to the ball, was soft, or otherwise be reliable on game day. I’m glad we are seeing the numbers, but many of us won’t be happy w numbers until we see wins. however, guys testing well also means we could/should see more wins. chill and enjoy the numbers and wins.
  5. well, let’s hope our 5-6th guys that stuck around and see how they can help us win games by experience, playing time, and age being 21-23 yrs old v the 18-21 yr olds with limited experience on other teams. they came back for reason, I think they know they’re close to being pretty salty as Blackshirts and helping the Cornhuskers as a team get their goals and wins. I’m ready to see this “free” year play out and see how good we can be on D
  6. With the Portal and transfer rules the way they are now, college football and the programs therein will not look the same in less than 5-7 yrs. It’s already been seen the last 3-4 yrs that there are 4-5 top tier programs that get solid 4&5 star recruits every year who aren’t hurt by transfers and portals. They get the top portal and transfer players IN and aren’t hurt by their 2nd and 3rd team players going OUT. Case in point T’o T’o going to Alabama after losing their top LB to the draft. Those top teams make the Playoff every year and keep everyone else out. stack on top of that, Image and Likeness payments and it only exacerbates the growing problem. it absolutely is a scratch and claw system for every other team to keep players, build from within, have a magical season come together, keep good coaches from leaving, and have a patient fan base. Also: pay bigly for infrastructure upgrades, fan interest and excitement, build depth, have the administration on board, and show progress. I think the last paragraph suits us very well despite the challenges the portal and transfer rules bring every other team besides tOSU, Tide, Clemson, and OU. We will be in that top tier where this “hard to recruit but easy to get out” won’t affect us to much in the very near future.
  7. Gut feeling, but I don’t think Chins is going anywhere. He’s old enough to remember the dynasty of Nebraska and the legacy that you can leave here if you build it. that doesn’t mean he won’t get paid, but I’d be surprised if he’s looking around. and yeah, the D is definitely on the up. I didn’t know JoJo is 235. He’s a damn good athlete for being that size.
  8. There is some good hand on hand combat going on up front, but the “thud” practices and no blitzing promises nothing to me. I take nothing away from these videos except to see what kind of shape our boys are in. We look bigger and stronger than last year
  9. I kinda feel Held might be a lifer here if they turn things around. Pretty loyal to Nebraska, good w Frost, has the tools and resources here, his name will pop up every couple yrs but I think he wants it here, as an assistant; maybe coordinator at some point if Lubick gone if these type of guys stick around their salaries will increase greatly and they’ll never have to “run a program,” which is hard af. Security and loyalty go a long way if we can win. Which I think we will
  10. ^ i was just watching some old YouTube games of Taylor Martin-ez. Man that kid was electric. I watched the N v Okie Lite from 2010, he was outstanding. He had lightning bolts in his feet. And actually threw some damn nice passes, 5 td I believe it was. Helu and Burkhead in the backfield? They were avg like +300yds on the ground. 4th in the nation in 2010 rushing, according to that game. I honestly think Frost would love +275yds on the ground. Mix in the passes for another +200 when it’s really appropriate and timely. I think he’s on his way with the OL being 6’5” n 310+ across the board for B1G play. pelini had the horses, he had the games, he had his shot. His teams didn’t lack for fire or fight. He just lost some really really bad games. On national TV and he turned into a tv moment being a d!(k. But he fielded some tough a$$ teams. I think Frost has a couple horses, some learned experience, a good/great D, and a team that is finally his. If they can dial it in and just be themselves I think we could some good stuff
  11. Holy hands, Batman...what a great play. what I liked was the crowd noise, limited as it was. We definitely have an advantage there when crowds are around.
  12. I’m not drinking s#!t. I’m reading the news and all the stuff, but I’m not buying any stock. I still hold stock from the 80s so I’m rich in Husker commodities. Never sold any. I want to see some dividends on field before I invest anymore emotional/heart coins.
  13. Offense churns out tons of yards. Like, tons of yards especially when humming. What did Adrian complete? Like 70%+ of his passes in games? However, struggled to actually score TDs, and with a poor kicking game, score at all. Big time Deficiency! i think our biggest issues are turnovers, penalties, and time management. Those are coaching probs. instead of working on pace and pushing max number plays, we need to work on pace and fundamentals at a quick pace. Fundamentally sound first. I’ll never forget being at the N v Oregon game and seeing how g’damn fast Oregon was at snapping the ball. It was like, another play in 17 seconds!! But they executed at such a high level. we won the game, but you could see how the game changed before our eyes. if Frost can get execution first, and I mean FIRST, then I think his scheme works. If he needs to slow it down so we can execute, then do it. Seems like he has the bodies he needs to finally run his offense, albeit at a slower pace..which is fine. Just run it without all the damn penalties and miscues. I’m very optimistic moving into 2021 that with better athletes, guys 2-3 yrs in, rid the rats, and a full offseason we will see fruits of the labor.
  14. Hopefully Martinez stays healthy for one full damn season. Maybe a win or two in blowout column so we can see some backups. Mostly at QB, but other positions as well. Kids just need to see the field as underclassmen, not starters.
  15. Maurice Washington not being here is is the biggest loss, talent wise, to the program in a generation (20 yrs) Losing him and his skills is more than double the loss of Spielman and Robinson. Don’t quote me stats, please. That kid had talent on loan from God, and Frost knew how to use him. So sad for him. And for us. He as a senior this year? Get outta here, that kid was special.
  16. ^^ Thx. I knew Heinrich was highly ranked. Baker as well with Marlon. Didn’t follow Septak that much. anyway, hope Heinrich can show. Get a lot of PT and develop
  17. Was Heinrich a 5*, or high 4*? seemed like we kept a big time recruit in State? I know he was injured as a FR and the whole “don’t waste a year” on covid and redshirt thing, but I think we need to see him come into his own soon. I know it takes time to run w “small a$$ high school players and make every play” type guys from not much competition to chasing tOSU type players and D1, but he is at least progressing and showing? im glad there’s competition w the transfer and older guys, but we need some big in state guys to show also
  18. That’s why I moved to ColoRADo also..know why the wind blows in KS? cuz OU and TX suck get these boys wrapped up. We need 10.6 speed and quasi farm boys from 500mi radius.
  19. Love to hear the starters are ready for special teams as well. after watching all the 90-01 great teams on YouTube during the BS lockdown, it was amazing to watch how many young/mid year great players were on kickoff & return, punt and FG block type stuff. Vandenbosch, Tomich, Kelsey, Craver, Mackovich, Farlley, Newcombe, et al...who turned out to be great Huskers, All Americans and even pro players. we actually won a lot of games because we had our “best athletes” on the field. Not necessarily starters, but some starters contributing on special teams. As our depth grows and players just want to see the field, our special teams will get better.
  20. that KS wind in the sound, lol Horrible weather and I went to Ft Hays, so I know it damn, kid ran it out. Need to get the 500 mile radius locked down.
  21. ^^ this Going off the top of my head, we’ve had the No 1 juco players rated at Bell RB Mills RB Green DL Manning WR can’t say Frost isn’t trying or getting what most perceive to be “top talent”. Takes a whole team to make it come together tho. Now we have Toure as a transfer as well. Supposed to be top talent he’s landed but none so far has been the dude that flipped the script. methinks it’s all up front. When we gets the OL we need, we’ll succeed with individual talent plucked from the ranks. Get the OL!!!!!!! I think we are in the way with some of the dudes we got up there (praying)
  22. He’s doing exactly what a leader should do. Taking responsibility and aligning the troops. it was a bad, terrible look. In the end, no harm nor foul. But now he’s the one who’ll answer for it and set it right. not letting it fester and infect. I respect that. let’s just go play the game and cheer for the Big Red
  23. dear God, we some wins amen
  24. ^^ meh, since May of 2020 after 5 weeks + of total lockdown and not letting my kids do squat and totally buying into the 15 days to slow the spread starting March 15 or so...I said F it.. I gotta work and travel, gotta provide and at least try. But since May 22, 2020... I’ve been to Miami/Islamorada 5 times, New York 4 times, Nashville 6 times, Dallas twice, Iowa once, Ft Collins a dozen times, Charlotte once, Chicago once , Seattle twice, and LA once along with Orlando and Las Vegas once each. like 33 flights/segments to 11 different cities across less than a year. Spent over 68 days in several cities in less than a year. Which would’ve normally been 90-110 days in those cities. And I didn’t do Jack s#!t for like 40 days. I’m self employed and woulda lost my whole job and family income if I didn’t try. Very secluded in some parts and very partied and open in others. Always cautious, always obeyed the “rules” wherever I was at. I’ve been tested 6 times and always negative. this has been bulls#!t since the beginning. Let the parts that want to be open and actually live, do it. The rest can go f#&% themselves. let localities decide. We need to be open and easy to pack Memorial full tilt. (I know personally over 35 people that had Covid, 2 died {both were 70+ and had bad, real bad health} but everyone else younger than 70 were just fine).
