  1. Per AP Twitter Post... And a SB Nation article... Very interesting...wasn't sure if the two were tied together, guess the KU chancellor is going to do their own thing. While the article says Big East and ACC only, a lone, unshackled Kansas would be a prime Big 10 expansion target if they go to fourteen schools, and would be perfect to combine with, say, a Rutgers or Maryland (for TV market expansion). Plus, it will give us our annual migration game back.
  2. Wow. You guys are 49th in verbal and 46th in math SAT scores. That's pretty bad. Maybe Perry didn't give your teachers more money because they are doing such a crappy job. Or maybe they're so crappy because they aren't given enough money? Not dogging you BBB12, but... Or because there are no laws or state oversight of budgets at the district level? Or perhaps because Texas has been more concerned with rewriting history and science books instead of providing them for classrooms? Or perhaps because Texas switched to standardized testing as the sole factor for determining advancement, and thus teachers are prescribed by districts to teach only to the test, and nothing more? Or perhaps because state and local laws prevent teachers from being in control of their classrooms? Or perhaps because the state is infatuated with giving state tax money earmarked for education to religious charter schools instead of actually funding the existing public schools? Or perhaps because Perry tried to take out death policies on teachers in Texas so the state could collect the policy money...without their knowledge or consent, thus creating and perpetuating an aura of distrust between the state and educators? Or perhaps because Perry tried to remove the 22 to 1 student/teacher ratios and was in support of upwards of 30 to 1 ratios? That's just off the top of my head--sure I can recall more. In short, Perry is an idiot who has sunk education much lower than those piss-poor statistics above can tell us. The best thing about this campaign is that Perry is out of Texas. The worst thing about this campaign is that enough idiots could get together and vote him into office.
  3. Anyone else sitting on your couch for this weeks game?

  4. AgMarauder04, I do want to apologize for calling you retarded--it wasn't warranted.
  5. The only thing that may save the Big XII is that anything that is currently in closed business discussion may be exempted from the FoIA--didn't Sipple try to do a FoIA when we were separating from the Big XII, and this was the excuse provided to him at that time?
  6. 1st of all, do you REALLY think if the story about the ref TELLING Bo he was gonna get screwed was true that it wouldn't have been EVERYWHERE? If it was legit, then TO, rightly, should have been raising holy hell. I simply can not believe it's true. Refs would be fired, the victory nullifed, etc if it really was the case. LOL. If it was credible, don't you think there would have been more of a story/uproar about it, and the situation addressed? EVEN IF it was true in the Big XII and that the B12 was conspiring against you, don't you think the NCAA would have stepped in? You f*****g have the audacity to ask this when your own school is leaving because a bunch of ego-driven f***tards with an orange, pointy uterus logo calls all of the mother f*****g shots for the entire conference? Really? Are you that retarded, or did your mother just try and suffocate you while breast feeding? Wow. Easy, dude. You really think that was necesary? Even Leach got refs fired for poor officiating with video of the game. If this was really the case, it would have been picked up. It's all I'm saying. And the landscape and Big XII office makeup was a *lot* different when Leach got that done than what it is today. Plus, you do realize that *you* are the A&M fan posting on a Nebraska board who has the audacity to say there wasn't a screwjob at A&M last fall when anyone that apparently didn't have an Aggie education could see it as plain as day? Plus, if that isn't enough, you come here, act as if A&M is a helpless victim, and expect us to empathize? As said earlier, A&M fans were right alongside 'whorn fans in shouting insults at Nebraska as we left--ironically enough, the same insults that A&M hurled at Nebraska are now being levied against A&M by 'whorn fans. A&M is getting a big, beefy helping of Doug stew (Weeds reference) this year. Had A&M and their fans not been complete douchebags about the blatant screwjob in College Station last year, you would get sympathy here for the hell your school will endure this year. Instead, Nebraska fans will revel in the knowledge that they were right all along and enjoy the schadenfreude. Sorry if that chafes your delicate sensibilities, AgMarauder04, but if I wanted bull****, I'd turn on the Longhorn Network.

  8. People aren't knocking their decision to leave. We're knocking A&M's willful ignorance of how they were allowed more men on the field than Nebraska for every play of the game last fall, and they still have the balls to claim they secured a just and fair result. If the calls were that lopsided in favor of Nebraska in Memorial Stadium, most of the fans here would be apologizing or lamenting that the victory was tainted, at least. I suppose this is why Nebraska fans are far and away superior to A&M fans--we can be rational and honest with ourselves.
  9. Being loyal to a school doesn't excuse being honest about an outcome. Most A&M fans accepting the outcome of last year's A&M/Nebraska tilt at face value is being willfully ignorant of how they were allowed to win by officials that were statistically proven to be unfair in their games with Nebraska. Plus, A&M fans have been willfully ignorant of the history of officiating gaffes in the Big XII because 1) they were never in contention for the Big XII title in the first place, or 2) they reaped the benefits of another team being shafted by horrible Big XII officiating. If anything, it will be sweet, glorious schadenfreude to watch A&M receive the same type of corrupt officiating that the Big XII conference gave Nebraska last year. Maybe then you'll understand why it's disingenuous for A&M fans to even claim a victory last fall. Or better yet, let's put these myopic A&M fans in the bottom of a dogpile, roshambo them, and see if they don't lash out in defense.
  10. Fro--I'm sorry, man, I didn't see you already had a thread going on this. My bad. It's still ******* funny as **** though.
  11. Billy Liucci, from TexAgs.com, has been VERY accurate about this whole thing. Everything he is saying has been true, and he has been saying SEC prez's will meet EARLY next week...so hopefully we will hear by next week and can put this behind us and focus on football. Billy was also the one who mentioned early on that Missouri was burning up the SEC's phone lines and then went silent on the whole thing, FWIW.
  12. It's regional ABC with an ESPN/ESPN2 mirror. is the mirror regional too? The agreement that the Big Ten has with ESPN says that all afternoon games that are on ABC on a regional basis have to shown on a national mirror on ESPN or ESPN2. In other words (and correct me if I'm wrong), unless it's a regional 7pm primetime game (primetime ABC doesn't get ESPN mirrors per B1G contract), we don't need to worry about coverage maps. We'll all get the game as long as we subscribe to fine family of Disney channels (read: ABC, ESPN, ESPN 2). Just one more reason why the B1G is the shiznit and the Big XII is just s**t.
  13. Mods please lock. Thanks.
  14. Yeah, I had been trying this too for the past week to no avail (thanks for the link anyway, MNHusker ). But lo and behold, the sweet Lord Baby Jesus done shone his magical football rays onto my computer: So...according to this, Verizon FiOS just hasn't updated their guide yet, as it still shows Arkansas State vs. Illinois. I'll be praying to Baby Jesus that this is what's going on, and that some asshat at Verizon isn't going to switch the two around...
  15. The Arkansas State/Illinois game is on the main BTN channel. The Nebraska game will be on an overflow channel except in Nebraska where it will be shown on the main channel. I'm hoping you're right. I'm checking my guide daily, and there's nothing about the Nebraska/Chattanooga tilt on the three BTN (SD) overflow channels. Don't worry. If you have DirecTV you will see the Nebraska game on one of the overflow channels. 609, 611, 612, or 615. It will be on one of those channels. Doesn't Directv have the overflow channels in HD? I thought Dish and Directv added them in HD a couple years ago. Yes they do, but actually I just found out that the Nebraska game will be carried on the main feed. So it's 610 on DirecTV. Shouldn't be on any overflow channel. As long as everyone gets BTN then you will see the game. K I was wondering why everyone was thinking that the overflow channels were only in SD. Some of us that are out-of-state only have BTN overflow channels in standard def. Stupid Verizon and their MPEG-2 compression gobbling up QAM space.

  17. Here's hoping we're on the main (HD) channel instead of the overflow. Though, overflow is better than nothing, I would presume.
  18. Dear Texas A&M-- F*****g took you long enough to come to your senses. Sincerely, Nebraska P.S. The next time one of your players wants to touch a cotton ball, pull them off the field and send them to CVS instead.
  19. Here's an article on FiOS adding Bevo TV Friend says look for ESPN Classic to go away in the next few months, depending on how Bevo TV does with FiOS.
  20. Can't say that I disagree. We will see. But ineffective is because of the crazy. Had crazy not been around and "real" Republicans been in those seats, you would have seen a $4 trillion deficit reduction, the closing of tax loopholes, a debt ceiling increase, and a certain end to the Bush Tax cuts (which in of itself will reduce the deficit by trillions). Obama would have gotten the Democrats to fall in line behind it, and both Obama and the Republican (non-derp) Congress come out as adults that can fix problems. Ma and Pa Kettle (that hasn't been tainted by derp) realize this, and the polls show this realization as well. Unless the Republicans drop the Tea Party like a bad habit, "regular" Republicans will be dragged down in 2012 by their extremist party interlopers. First of all, "derp" is the dumbest f'ing thing I've heard of in a while. Don't be afraid to use the english language. If that's the dumbest thing you've heard of in a while, then you haven't been using the internet properly.
  21. I just don't understand why our federal gov't (or most state gov'ts) can't seem to balance their yearly budgets. Seems pretty simple really. Just look at the level of revenues. Then spend less than that. The other side of the story . . . this guy is bragging about saving millions . . . but Montana accepted over a BILLION dollars in federal stimulus money. It's easier to operate in the black when you have someone pumping a cool billion into your state. Kind of like Rick Perry, who took stimulus money, and then still had a massive $9 billion deficit that education bore the brunt of cuts for. Seems like Texas should be one of the easier states to run a surplus in. They were in the black a couple of years ago. As for accepting stimulus money, all states dipped their snouts in the trough. Yet 40 states are running budget deficits this year. So what Montana is doing is at least a little bit impressive. Yes, but is Montana's governor running for President and then criticizing the very program they took money from? And while this is all well and good for Montana, they give too little credit to the energy exploration and industry that has shown up almost overnight there, IMO.
  22. Not to mention the screwjob on medical benefits that Congress did for the first responders.
