  3. Agree completely. If you watch the entire 1996 Fiesta Bowl (62-24 beating of Florida), you can see Pud smiling like a little boy as he takes the field with the Husker team. Why he did what he did will boggle my mind forever. The guy must have been on drugs. I can only surmise that Pud actually thought he had exclusive knowledge, unknown to any other on this planet, of how to reinvent the elite college football program. And by doing so, there would eventually be statues built to celebrate his greatness. Yes, I remember seeing his mug on that 96 Fiesta Bowl video. He looks like a giddy twenty something. Which is good and fine. Who could have known that he would later derail the very program he celebrates in that video and set us back a decade.
  4. Irving Fry was on KETV channel 7 tonight. During his interview he was saying (paraphrasing): "The previous regime didn't get Nebraska football. They just didn't!!" It was in reference to the fact that Irving's son, London Fryar, is moving on the the NFL. He was definitely excellent D1 college material. Callahan ignored the tape that Irving had sent to Nebraska concerning his son during the recruiting process. Irving would have loved for his son to have come to Nebraska as is typical for past Husker's sons with the ability to play at this level. Callahan=ignorant ass
  5. Oh, and one more thing. In the days of yore when we often had the game well in hand, such as against Kstate, that we even got a look at our 3rd string quarterback during the final minutes of a game. Well, look for that possibility to surface on a more frequent basis again. This year's game with Kstate may well be the first game in years where we get a good look at the 3rd string quarterback and others. Did I mention I can't freaking wait?
  6. Methusela Snyder doesn't have enough energy or viable life left to catch lightening in a bottle for a second time. His program was on a downward tailspin when he retired the first time and turned the reins over to Prince. The horseflesh in his stable is in the cellar and inadequate to jump start his competitiveness with Bo during the rest of Methusela's lifetime. (Did I mention he was old?) The next half decade or so he is only going to lose energy and competitive drive at a faster clip. No more working effectively 18 hours a day for days on end. (Did I mention that his program was in a downward tailspin when he retired the first time?) Methusela Snyder won't revive his program enough to beat Bo. Something like Spanky Neuheisel at Colorado never defeating Tom Osborne. (Did I mention Snyder didn't have enough time or energy because he was too old?) He won't catch lightening in a bottle twice. Take it to the bank. The games with KSU will be those types of yesteryear, when we used to get a good look at the second string players early in the 3rd quarter. No, Bo will keep it classy and not purposefully run the score up on Methusela. But Bo may have to revert to the 3rd string to avoid totally spanking his ass and humiliating Methusela Snyder on an annual basis. And....I can't freaking wait!!

  9. totally different feeling than a kick to the groin
  10. And..........that's why those that are always asking if the summer arriving true freshman can contribute early just don't get what playing at this level involves. If you 'have' to play a bunch of true freshmen, you're in a deep hole.
  11. I dont really have an opinion if he starts. But when annoucers say and NU has 2 walk-ons starting today, it makes NU seems untalented. And for the people who dont want to start it is because if football you just dont run, you have to do other things such as tackling . So even if they want speed May may not be the best guy, because obviously if he was good enough Bo would have gave him a scholarship. So, when Nebraska was kicking butt on a regular basis with upper classmen walk-ons as starters and helping stack the 2 and 3 deep, we seemed weak????? And, the answer is to make sure our walk-ons are so sorry that they'll never challenge a scholarship athlete for playing time. That way the announcers won't have to announce a walk-on's name and make us sound weak? Having excellent walk-ons isn't a sign of weakness, its a sign of strength. If a walk-on cracks the 2 deep, he typically was awarded a scholarship. 1) if he has a scholarship 2) if he is playing ahead of another scholarship player 3) then he is not a underskilled piece of meat
  12. Nebraska versus Colorado fights are on tonight. $9.99 pay per view here http://www.fighttowinmma.com
  13. Sorry. Here's the link: http://www.ibiblio.org/nc/nccollege.html
  14. Here is a link for a complete list of North Carolina schools that Witt can choose from. North Carolina is the state where many Nebraska quarterbacks have transferred to in recent years: Dukes, Dailey, and Beck. I guess we could call that state the Nebraska quarterback transfer graveyard.
  15. Interesting comments from the Dallasnews. Read the reader remarks. http://collegesportsblog.dallasnews.com/ar...s-nebraska.html
  16. The following is an anonymous comment taken from the forum at 'The Dailynebraskan' newspaper: "I wish all of you could have met the real Patrick Witt, He was the nicest guy and respected everyone I ever saw him around. Before you talk about him you need to know the whole story, I am sure it wasn't his choice to change schools in highschool, and he loved football, and yes his heart was there, but somethings just aren't right where you're at and he is finding the right fit for him. He is a great guy, athlete and before you go spreading rumors just get the facts first. I think the football team is losing a great player and friend and the school is losing a great student. He is more that just a spot on the team, he also took great pride in his grades and should be known for that as well. Sorry to see you leaving Patrick and hopefully you're next place is the right fit for you. Thanks for being such a great guy."
  17. Coming in, Witt was highly touted for his exceptional intelligence. He was a mid-year transfer-in like Cody Green. Supposedly picked up the playbook faster than most. Held the #2 spot behind Ganz supposedly for the same reason. The guy is/was a Husker, so he's alright by me until proven a bad guy. But one funny thing I have to bring up is about a year ago when he was caught by the police after running from a girl's dorm. Remember when we questioned his speed and evasiveness abilities based on that performance?
  18. MMA fighters representing Nebraska are scheduled to battle Colorado in March. http://mmabuzz.com/index.php/fight-to-win-...march-14th.html (have forum) More stuff on the Nebraska mma fighter scene here: http://www.omahafighter.com/ (have forum) and here: http://victoryfighter.net/index.php?p=home Get behind these Nebraska guys!! The crowd in Colorado is going to be antiNebraska.
  19. Maybe DTs with the letter 'U' in their last names could set a trend at NU. Lame, I know.
  20. Good one! I was thinking something along those lines while I was scrolling down. Not sure if this is in Reverend Ron's recruiting area(TX)of responsibility. But put him on this guy anyway.

  22. Welcome to our site, chickenheart. And thankyou for stopping by. Do you have some kind of a relationship with Rex? Or just an acquaintance? Seems like a great, great character. Seldom do you hear a star athlete with his reserved tone when speaking. Husker fans have got to watch this Dallas interview: http://www.hsgametime.com/dfw/videopage.ht...28596&shu=1
  23. Welcome to all. We Nebraskans are proud of you. And, Tyson Clark. I knew your grandfather from Nebraska City. You Clarks have a great football heritage. But don't let it get to you. Just do your own thing in your own way.
  24. http://community.thetimes-tribune.com/blog...recruiting.aspx Check out this link. A real good running battle between a Scranton, PA newspaper reporter/blogger and about 100 Husker fans.
